Sure, there are pubs that look more like a grandpa's living room, but the Pheasant Inn is still a nice place to have a drink with your mates, have a nice game of pool, sit outside in the sun - or watch some live sports! I've got some serious love for St Austell beersand most Cornish beersand I was not disapointed by this one. Nice wooden beamed pub. Such a shame they insist on showing Sky Sports News. Why?

And really this is the only restaurant in the area. We usually stop in at the bar and grab a pint while the staff gets a big enough table to handle the family. Service here has always been outstanding. Even with newer, untrained staff they seem to have things under control. Prices are a bit higher than most of my cheap (Scottish) family members would like to pay, but everyone always leaves full and happy. Portions are very large so if you want to save room for dessert (trust me save room) split some apps or skip them all together. Pretty sure this place gets packed on weekends as the bar scene attracts lots of locals.

The pub is a decent size and also has a large beer garden which will be nice if we get a summer? There is a huge range of wines available on the chalk board, and a good choice of ales and lagers. The menu was good even though it was a little pricey for the area but when we had the food it was certainly worth it! I had homemade burger with chips which was delicious and my other half had a pork dinner which was also melt in the mouth tasty! I would recommend highly and will be visiting again soon.
