You get to choose your sauces and seasonings. They have a few recommendations of combos. We got different things on each one. The line moved quickly but I had to wait for 15 minutes for my food. However, the rice dog was worth the wait. I went in thinking it would be amazing due to the many reviews I've heard about this place so i was very excited to try it. However, the results were highly disappointing and I was left dissatisfied. However, i do understand that it is my personal opinion, So if you had a good experience and enjoy your food, I'm happy for you. The rice dogs I got the gamsung hotdog and the chungchun hot dog. I found the batter soaked up a lot of the oil and the cheese tasted very cheap and so did the sausage. I feel like i could have made this at home with better ingredients and do a better job, no offence. I visited this place because there was SO much hype around Chung Chun Rice Dog. I had to see if it was worth the hype and... it was definitely worth the hype. I don't usually like "corn dogs" but this place is amazing. I ordered the Original Hotdog ($3.99) and the Ramen Chip Hotdog ($4.99) and they were DELICIOUS. The dough was so crispy on the outside and the hotdog was definitely a jumbo sized hotdog. There are ~13 toppings to choose from and I chose spicy mayo and ketchup. I honestly preferred the Original Hotdog more than the Ramen Chip one. I will definitely be coming back and trying the Volcano Hotdog. The only reason I am giving this establishment 4 stars was because of the wait. I knew it was going to be busy on a Saturday afternoon but didn't expect to wait 40 minutes for two rice dogs. You line up to order first and then you wait outside for your order number to show up on a small screen. You then walk inside, pick up your order and choose your sauces. I would say it is rather affordable and super authentic to korean street food. I would have never thought that after Korea that I could find it here ! Super happy they have it now! I think I've had enough of the Chung Chun experience for me to write a proper review of it. The first time around, I was a wise-ass and I got literally all of the sauces on my rice dog, which unsurprisingly led to a giant mess. This time around, I was smarter and I got the classic rice dog with just the bbq sauce and the honey mustard. MUCH better. It really allowed the crispy batter to shine through without being too overpowering. Speaking of the batter, that's what you're coming here for, folks. We're talkin' ASMR-level territories of crunchy. I feel that deep fried batter can be a big hit-or-miss, with the actual food being unable to cut through the grease. This isn't the case here. Unless you're literally getting a naked rice dog, you're going to have a good time with this. Next time around, I'm going to be more adventurous with the base, and try to deep fried potato batter or one of the spicier options. But if you've got $5 in your pocket and want an Instagram-able lunch to get you through the day, Chung Chun is a good bet. read more

Disappointed to find their menu has a chicken beef hot dog combo, yet no plain chicken dog, or even Turkey dog. My friends saw the plain mozzarella rice dog. To feel included, I bought it. Paid $5.64 for a rice, bread crumb and flour coated mozzarella stick. The "crust" or outer layer coating was thick and the cheese stringy, as moz. aught to be. Unfortunately they were a little stingy on the cheese as there was this gaping hole in the Centre. Some more mozzarella clearly could have fit. The meat option permits no space allowance as the batter covers the entirity of the dog and the stick goes through the dog, sealed, seamless, done! The same can not be said about the mozzarella rice "dog". It is not like a cylinder of cheese. The batter was rather thick. Its a good thing the rice "dog" wasnt any bigger because with it being fried like that, it was pretty heavy. I was also waiting a long time. My friends and I had gotten there before the line was accumulating. We all ordered and waited. My number was 146, there was maybe 2 orders in front of mine. They called 146. I received my order, the person behind the cash asked what sauce I wanted. Mustard I said. The sign listing all the sauces had mustard listed under "classics", yet it was sweet mustard & to me, honey mustard is not a classic, plain mustard is. There is a distinction here. I didnt know, the sauce list misinformed me. So after she applied it, I didnt like that honey mustard was on my rice dog, when I desired plain mustard. Different flavours. She had it remade. Yet in waiting for my remade mozzarella rice dog, 6 other people received theirs. I was waiting probably a half hour. If that mustard mistake didnt happen, it would have been a pretty prompt order.
