I finally found a dentist in Anchorage I like!…read more Look on Yelp for Dentist reviews and you'll find a weird situation. Lots of polarization, lots of flagged reviews, it's the wild-wild west out there. I main reasons I decided to check out midtown: - Close to my job (can walk from work) - Accepted by my insurance Another, dumb, reason: it's a pretty cool, modern-looking building. I came here after I experienced hard-selling and fear-mongering tactics at another Dentist. I wanted to get a second opinion. Boy, am I glad I did. Staff here are friendly and professional. Appointments are timely. The lobby is beautiful. You can choose your own music or watch Netflix while you get drilled/scrapped/polished. I had Dr. Adam Jensen for my dentist, he was great. He had a data-driven yet practical approach. I wish I knew he was a peak bagger (just found it out by creeping the website), we'll have so much more to talk about next time!

I went specifically for a cleaning but was told I had to come back. By this point, I had already invested my time and effort and I went back for the following reasons: - I liked Dr. Tudor - The office was clean, inviting and full of modern equipment. I've now been here for two cleanings and have been attended to by the same hygienist, who is very thorough. You know you got a good cleaning when you leave with some pain (good pain)! Except on my last visit, she nearly chipped my tooth by pulling out the reflection mirror too quickly (bad pain). I'll be back, mainly because I don't feel like searching for yet another new dentist and also because I do feel like they are honest. I inquired about both whitening and Invisalign and they advised I did not need either.

That was super odd especially for a first time patient. I have pretty good teeth and not many concerns but he spent the least amount of time with me. The hygienist Holly is kinda young and quite the chatterbox. I'm not sure she took many breaths. I've never had anyone take 1 full hour to clean my teeth. As you can see I have pretty good teeth. I think if she didn't talk as much it would've been faster. This was a full 2 hour appointment. Even getting a root canal I've never been at a dentist for 2 hours. They "offer" fancy stuff like paraffin Wax, hot wraps, movie glasses. But I say offer lightly. I was offered the hot wrap but nothing else. The massage chair is just an uncomfortable vibration. No thanks. All that has to be paid for somehow. Their prices make getting necessary work done impossible from a cost perspective even with insurance. They're super out of the way too. So nothing about it makes sense to go back. Went on a coworker referral so had much higher hopes. The one good thing is they give you replacement heads for electric toothbrushes which is awesomeness

She was taken from the lobby and then waited by herself in a room for 45 minutes before being seen by anyone. The extra procedure they did on her was $1,000 extra and they had no problem billing that amount. The extra procedure took 3 days to recover from and I would not have said yes to it. I called several times to speak with a manager and despite leaving messages with people and on voicemail, the manager never responded. I just got calls from the front desk asking to be paid. When I told them that I was changing dentists and wanted to leave with no bills they said I was squared up -owed nothing. Months later they called me about a payment that they found I owed. I could go on and on, but not worth any more of my time. This place is overpriced and unprofessional.

My sister's been a nurse for years and the dental hygienist berated her about her presumably high blood pressure. She then went into depth about "teaching" her about her teeth and gums, and proceeded to poke her gums until her entire mouth was bleeding. She felt shamed and violated. This woman should be held accountable and/or fired. The appt was around 11 on November 3rd. I'm guessing she has had other complaints. And you've just lost a client who also owns her own business and has sent people to this dental office as well.

When scheduling for my check up 6 month later, does anyone really know what time and day they'll be available in six months. Well of course we schedule anyways and then two months before hand I see if I can change it. The lady says they're booked out till August. So if I cancel my March appointment, it will be a full year before I'm seen again. I think this is common in Anchorage. We don't have enough dentist that they're booked out a whole year? The lady couldn't really help me and I didn't wanna cancel so I just left it. I have to remember to call them if I can't go so I don't get charged $50. Seems a little ridiculous. The dentist also had a tremor when he was doing my filling. I don't know if that's an everyday thing or what, but I was a little nervous.

I've been coming to Huffman Family Dentistry for a while and have enjoyed my experience over time…read morebut most recently, one of the receptionist, Patty, was very short and rude. Called me the day prior to confirm my appointment and I recall our conversation juggling between the idea of putting me on a short list and pushing me out to May 2026 or me potentially making the appointment if i could make it work. Towards the end of our conversation, Patty hung up on me and I was left with the assumption that I was being rescheduled to May 2026 and placed on a short list. The next day, I received a call from Patty asking if I was going to make my appointment. Confused by the call because I was under the impression that I was being rescheduled to May 2026 and didn't get any clarity on the appointment because i was hung up on. Even when trying to make the appointment that Patty said i was still able to make, I wasn't able to be seen and was charged a $50 dollar fee due to a misunderstanding. Several times during my interaction with Patty i said, "I really think this is a misunderstanding" but she unprofessionally would say, "I don't think so" or "the last thing you said is you'd be here". But again, because I was hung up on, I was unsure of what the agreement was. The last thing I recall was I was being rescheduled to May. Customers aren't always right, but they should always feel heard. I wasn't trying to make an excuse, I simply was trying to explain my side of the misunderstanding but I was dismissed. Again, the staff here is always great and this was my first time interacting with Patty. Just wasn't the best experience compared to my prior visits to Huffman Family Dentistry.

He was informative, insightful, perceptive and educated me and walked me through each step and his dental assistant or dental tech. Gina was phenomenal as her appropriate sense of humor was much needed and sometimes what can be a stressful moment when you're getting a drill on your tooth. Eloquently facilitated by the very own Dr. Lopez. But his precision and his attentiveness was pretty impeccable and impressive. And I've had dentists in the past who have fallen short because they've triggered a pain point, but with Dr. Lopez I was in good hands because it was a pain-free experience and while the drill was loud, which at every dental office drills loud. But I was really focused on relaxing. And thank you so much for Dr. Lopez for allowing that. And I was very grateful for that experience. But I was also very happy that his dental assistant Gina was able to also make me feel IDs and comfortable. And thanks for the laughs Gina ;) And thanks to Evelyn, the office manager who really underscored the positive and uplifting and professional environment that I would expect from any Top-Tier dentist. :)

I guess because he thought the numbing gel was suppose to numb things he could stick the needle in and move it in any direction he wanted to. When doing a cleaning his tool caught my lip and was pinching it against my tooth i tried to move my lip and he got angry. When he pulled my tooth he was yanking and hit my front tooth. That front tooth cost me a lot of money. Its a cap and it hurt so i touched it to make sure it was ok and the doctor got very curt telling me to put my hands down and do not raise them again. I was thinking," your right I raise them again I'm going to jail. You think you can talk to me like that and treat me this way?" The next tooth he pulled he didnt try to yank he added slow pressure like they are taught to do. Too bad he did not remember with the first one. Its wierd how hard they were to pull when he said they were severely infected and unsavable. My body seemed to disagree. Its ok i wanted one of them pulled anyway but lying is a huge peeve of mine. I dont understand why he would do it and why he thought I would not know. Was it because we were in mountain view? His staff looked freaked out a little when I told them I am a vetran and i would be running any prescriptions by the VA pharmacy. Turns out the VA will not fill it since dentist are not covered by the VA community care but still I am letting the VA know. That was just wierd. She actually has a support system you do not mess with. I guess if you treated everyone the same your staff would not freeze and get bug eyed when they find out I'm educated and not on welfare. Them doing everything in one visit and the staff is why it gets 4 stars. The assistant running the vac I think was in training too. Everything seemed an oh yah moment for her but thats ok. I dont mind training with me. Not having to make a different visit for everything is what would make me recommend it. Plus i am told other people were making visits in Wasilla because none were available in town and BTY was willing to get me in the very same day. Sometimes you sacrifice bedside manner to get what you want when you need it.

I had a horrible office experience. When I walked into the Anchorage Dental Arts office, the front…read moredesk receptionist was rude, pretending to be on the phone until my mother came in. Most of the employees and the doctor were in the office, but usually there are only two or one in the office, including the front desk receptionist. That day was different (which had never happened to me before), and it seemed like they were making sure I didn't have a fit (which I didn't) or have any problem, which I find very unprofessional and immature. After my mother came in, she hung up the phone, and most of the employees and the doctor disappeared from the office, except for two or one, including the front desk receptionist, as I said before, which again I find very unprofessional and immature. After the front desk receptionist hung up the phone, she briefly stared at me and looked away while other clients or customers were waiting, which I find unusual because every time I go to Anchorage Dental Arts, I rarely see that many clients or customers waiting at the office. I believe it is a setup, at least that's what I think. Anyway, the front desk receptionist made me stand there like an idiot or a fool until I sat down by myself. At least the front desk receptionist could tell me to sit down or something, but she didn't. While I was sitting down and waiting, the front desk receptionist came out of the office and helped and talked with the other clients or customers, but did not say anything to me, which I find very rude. The front desk receptionist did not say anything to me at all until I left without any problem with my mother. I would like to say this again. I believe it is a setup, at least that's what I think.
