Came here with my hubby and were interested in the $20 lobster tail and steak deal but they didn't have lobster tail the day we came. Kinda disappointing. Prices were very good on many items on the menu. It didn't take too long to get our food despite the place being very busy. Our waitress really didn't come back and check on us until we were about done with our food. The food was good but my husbands chicken was burnt on the outside. I love going to this place for food and drinks. The prices are cheap and the beer flows. Some reviews stated that they had bad service. I have never had bad service here, in fact the waitresses are super friendly, polite, fast and friendly. About one month ago, I thought I left a very expensive baby bottle at the restaurant and I called asking them to look for it. The staff happily looked for it twice for me and I dont mean they put me on hold and forgot about me...they searched under tables and really looked for me, which I totally appreciate. Now, I have ordered a lot of different food from this place and I will recommend the following: - The cheap steaks are full of flavour, - The soups are homemade - The lobster is very good - The ribs are my favourite. The ribs really are their specialty. If your looking for fall off the bones ribs that are tender and full of flavour, you will not be dissapointed. There is a lot of room for growth, like how about making homemade fries? Potatoes are cheap and making fries is easy. I absolutely disapprove of restaurants not even making homemade fries, why do we go out to eat heated up frozen fries? I can do that at home myself. People go out to eat food that they do not take the time to make homemade, not heating up frozen food. They serve beans with a lot of the meals, which I like...but even the beans taste like they are from a large can. Beans are so cheap and so easy to make homemade. This is something they should change immediately. I can open a can of beans at home and heat them the same. I would love to see homemade beans served here. Its just pure lazy to serve beans from a can to customers at a restaurant. The funnel cake was terrible. I remember getting funnel cake at Canada's Wonderland as a kid, so I was excited to see that on the menu. It was overcooked, very tough and basically deep fried crap. Funnel cake is suppose to be soft chewy donut cake type of consistency, lightly deep fried, coated with icing sugar and choice of fresh fruit on it. There wasnt anything fresh or homemade about this funnel cake. Check out the pictures and you will see how disgusting it is. I wouldnt recommend anything deep fried from here, its all frozen stuff....nothing is made with a homemade batter. Well I havent tried the fish and chips yet, maybe that will be their saving grace. Definitely dont get the deep fried shrimp or calamari. Get the ribs and soup, you will love them! The bruschetta is served on pita, which I hate, how about serving it on fresh local bread? Also the corn on the cobb is depressing, sogging, lacking flavour. Its probably the worst corn on the cobb that I ever ate. It tastes like the corn was originally cooked in the summer and frozen and than thawed and re-heated it 4 months later. Terrible! My other pet peeve is they give us lollilops instead of mints. Am I 8 years old? No, I dont want a lollilop. I want mints filled with chocolates or even just a plain mint. I mentioned this suggestion to the manager one night during our dinner and nothing happened about it months later? read more

This is my second review of Chucks Roadhouse, but the first for this location. Decided to give it a second chance to find out if it was the other location that was terrible, or if it was the chain overall. My verdict is it's the chain. They just don't seem to care. Our waitress did not say hi or say her name. Took our drink order, and I don't think we saw her the rest of the day until we got the bill. We had a runner bring our food, and another server in that station clear our dishes. The food is cheap, as is the quality. We tried to order the buffalo chicken sandwich and were told not to because the owners have changed the sandwich to be a hot dog bun with two chicken fingers stuffed in it and topped with lettuce and tomatoes, for $10. I thought she was joking. That's almost insulting that you would serve that. All in all, the only way I recommend going here is if you just want cheap food, and don't care what you're eating, or how your service is. read more

I am back home in Windsor for a week for my sisters wedding and today was an errand day. My mother and I had met up with her and went to Costco, and decided we wanted to go someplace for lunch and decided upon this place. I haven't been here since it was Kelsey's. Walking in, the restaurant was a bit quiet, for their lunch crowd and we were seated right away by the hostess who was really nice, we got a booth, and browsed our menus until not too long after our waitress came and asked us our drink order and how we were doing. She was wonderful throughout our whole dining experience. What stuck out to me was the Pecan and Goat cheese salad. I looked at the other menu items, but that was calling my name so I had to get it. You had could also add chicken or steak for an extra $3.99, I just had it without either. My sister ordered the same thing without onions and my mom had the chicken club wrap without ranch sauce. Not taking long at all, our food came out just as we ordered. The salad was made with iceberg lettuce, which was fine, but for a salad for $9.99 you would think they would have more quality lettuce. I still devoured the entire thing. My sister enjoyed her salad, the dressing was on the side, and they actually brought us two each; we only used one. My mother's wrap was good, she wishes there was a bit more chicken on it, but it was still delicious. The washrooms were stocked and cleaned, because I always have to use the washroom. The restaurant itself was well kept and as previously stated, our waitress was nothing short of amazing. She knew every cue and was very personable. Came here for dinner on a Friday night. Place was crazy busy but found a spot at the bar. Took about 10 min to get a beer but they were very busy so I understand. Bar tender was a cute lady with glasses and an arm tattoo. Mentioned she was grumpy but was still very nice and attentive for how busy it was. First thing I noticed was how cheap all their food was! A steak with ribs and fries for $20?? I am from the US so that was unreal to see here in Canada. Ended up with a 9oz ribeye which was a bit over cooked but still very good. The worst part about this chain is their ridiculous "Honest to goodness " tax of 3%!!! This is an insult to any patron. They justify it by claiming it keeps the food prices down. Bull crap!!!! It has already made CTV news showing many customers angry about this farce. As for the food We asked for fries to be substituted with onion rings. Apparently no substitutions , that's against Chucks rules. The burger was McDonalds quality at best. Absolutely amazing, I just finished eating a $10 top serlion steak and it was amazing. THEIR PRICES ARE AMAZING ........and the food is great not the best (eg the keg) but for the price, it beats anywhere! Any time we go out to dinner I will be going here!! If you want to have cheap steaks, this is a place to be. Their food is sub par. Went to try this place out for the first time the other night, and a family of 5 this was not an amazing restaurant. I do however give them 3 stars for cheap steaks. I ordered 2 chickens strip meals for the kids, and one kids meal of cheeseburger. Their food came cold, the burger patty hard and dry, and the cheese not melted. Their fries were cold. But for the price $4.99 for kids meal I guess it's like getting McDonald's but a cold order. I got a lb of wings which were already partially cold when it got to our table. Got calamari, which lacked lustre even with the sweet Thai chilli dip. My husband got a 7oz steak with small lobster tail, for $20 and the steak was done to his liking, however it's side fries and corn was cold and the corn seemed like it was old and just sitting in water all day. Spent around $50 excluding tax and the one kids meal they took out of our bill because our daughter didn't like it. But I mean on a night where you're drinking and you want crappy munchies, this place is good for a steak. read more

Ordered the classic clubhouse and their "specialty" fries. The fries were the most basic frozen-from-a-bag variety which made me wonder why their menu referred to them as "specialty". The clubhouse came with a packet of mayo on the side. There was no mayo on the sandwich. I had to deconstruct my clubhouse and apply my own mayo. You can imagine how difficult a task it was to get my sandwich back together again. While I do understand that this is more of a burger joint, I came here for lunch and was not in a mood for a burger. Perhaps their burgers are wonderful. However I'll never get to know the quality of their burgers since I wouldn't personally eat there again. Experience was underwhelming. read more

Have yet to eat something here I didn't like. The lunch specials are great, the drink specials are great- $4 Caesars that come with a skewer of extras, great flavour- versus the keg which is about twice that and it was probably the worst I ever had. Not even a celery stick. Add on the 3% fee and it's still more affordable. Plus with the addition of Somersby (finally!!) to the drink menu this is our go to spot. This is a different visit on January 4, 2020. Party of 6 again and 4 of our friends got here before us. Both couples purchased 2X&25.00 gift cards that came with 2XX$5.00 coupon and 2 BBQ sauce. When I asked the waitress for the same deal, she told me that the deal had expired while both my friends purchased this deal right now. I went to the bar where they purchased the deal to only be told by the manager that this was a "while quantities last" deal and that the last 4 deals were the last ones. we had a party of 30 people for a birthday party (yes, we made reservations on Wednesday). We only had one waitress, orders were ruined, pickles were served & removed from a meal (despite a food allergy which someone required an epi-pen for), food items were charged against other peoples bills & were refused for correction. Needless to say, no one will be returning to the Windsor, Ontario location. This type of mis-management is unacceptable. We were all blown away as we all used to visit on a weekly basis & have never had an issue. Dinners that were told would be on the house were charged to other peoples bills then crediting the meals was refused. Rick (restaurant manager) didn't seem interested in providing assistance to Sarah P (our waitress) or having any other staff assist her. Towards the end the waitress was being very rude. read more

If you're looking for a good and fair priced steak dinner look no further. Chuck's is all that and half priced chicken wings after 9pm. Be sure to try the nacho starter as well but leave room for the main. Ambiance is exactly that...a roadhouse and that suits me fine. Staff are friendly and attentive. Oh and the beer is always cold with a very good selection. The prices are very reasonable as well. If you're not a steak kind of person there is plenty on the menu that may check your boxes. On a side note: you can't make everyone happy all of the time and some people just look for anything to complain about. I am particular about my food and service is very important to me as well. I have been to many places that advertise themselves as high end that don't hold a candle to this place. I will continue to go to Chucks and recommend it to anyone who cares to listen. My wife and I stopped into Chuck's for dinner. The place was crowded but we we're seated quickly in the bar area. The bartender/waitress quickly brought us some water....then we waited. After about ten minutes I waved at the bartender but she was too busy fawning over the young guy at the bar and untangling charge cords so he could plug his phone in to charge. Twenty five minutes after our arrival it was my wife who said- "Enough. Let's go!" Fairly, I cannot comment on the food but I can comment on how absolutely dismal the service is. The manager- I assume it was the manager- seemed oblivious...to how poorly her staff was functioning. Will likely avoid future aggravation and stay away from this place. Meal was good,service was acceptable; however, the service charge of 3% is an insult - its not for service as the employee does not receive it, but a price increase disguised as a service charge. Additionally the servers do not receive all their tips as a portion goes straight to the restaurant and is not even shared amongst all the staff. Went to Chucks for the first and last time last night. Wait staff was great and the interior design was cool (except for the lighting - Edison bulbs hanging from the ceiling in an almost black interior is not adequate - thank god we went prior to the sun setting) I agree with the post about the "specialty" fries. They were garbage. The steak that my husband had was great - well seasoned and tender. I had the wings - would not order them again. They were oily and my digestive system is still having a hard time. The caesar salad was gooped with dressing and the croutons were huge and not good. Now for the worst part of our visit. This is a roadhouse but they were playing electronic dance music. They were having issues with the audio system and had it up way too loud. The walls were reverberating with the base, So was my head and by the time we left I had a migraine and a twitch in my right eye. We asked the waitress if they could turn down the base and she was very apologetic and said that they were working on it and that they had been having issues with their audio. I am shocked that no one there thought to just turn it off. Duh. I looked around and everyone seemed to be bothered by the noise. I felt really bad for two other tables where there were couples who I would assume to be in their 70's. Note - it was around 6:30pm when we were there. Not late in the evening. My husband and I both agreed that the only way we will be returning is if we are invited to a gathering for someones birthday or other event and that is where they choose. Attended my son's birthday party on Sunday, July 24th. He had approximately 30 people in attendance which he had made reservations for. What a major disaster. They had one server who could not handle such a large crowd. Orders were forgotten, bills were incorrect, just total chaos. When I brought attention to my bill that have someone else's order on it you would have thought I was trying to get out of paying my over $200 bill. To top it off the waitress Sarah was extremely rude to everyone and the manager was of absolute no help in trying to resolve issues. We have frequented this restaurant several times as well as my son and his friends and I can assure you that they have now lost a lot of customers. Can you also explain what this 3% service charge is on the bill. Never noticed until I read other reviews that commented on it. Guess I paid 3% to be treated badly.
