Despite advertising emergency service, and calling well within posted "business hours", after more than 24 hours I still have not had any response. This was the case for all three local locksmiths I called on a Saturday. Access' website invites you to text for service, but you would only get replies w/in 24 hours, so clearly it's no help for emergencies and you will need to call. My mom had a doorknob fail on a kitchen door between her back door and the main part of the house. This locked her out entirely. She is injured and preparing for surgery Monday, so it was particularly concerning to have her stuck outside indefinitely. Ultimately, a friend was able to come by to remove the trim and get it open with a credit card for her. I moved to the state of Oregon 20 years ago, so my number is no longer a local area code. Despite calling for (and clearly noting) I needed help for a home in Toledo, perhaps this played a role? Or they could not come anytime soon and couldn't be bothered to just call to say as much? No idea. All I know is they not only did not have a prompt response, but I got no response whatsoever. Certainly can't get behind that. Hope you do better than we did if you're ever in a bind.

Not sure what happened with their messages. Sometimes phones are just weird, it does totally happen in life. It sounds like it was a busy day for them. Of the locksmith options I found, I would still try calling them again - I didn't get ANY responses. So bizzarre. But based on my experience trying 3 local providers, all with good reviews; If you need someone ASAP - and especially if you have to leave messages - definitely call multiple companies to be sure someone calls back. And it sounds like calling again is smart if you are ever stuck waiting around without any responses. I haven't needed an emergency locksmith for 15 years, so this was certainly a reacquaintance/learning experience. I've learned something useful about how to best get in contact with one! Don't avoid this company because of this; just cast yourself a wide net of inquiries and then don't worry about calling them (or anyone else) again if you are in a more urgent situation and need help.

It came off in my hand the minute I tried to turn it. He didn't have the nerve to ask for any kind of payment. The part on my outside, front door handle meant to be pressed by the thumb would not move. Seems to me like it needed proper, internal lubrication. He immediately said an internal part was broken and needed to be replaced. First thing he did, after he had difficulty removing the inside door knob, was to strip a screw when he tried to take the mechanism apart. Soon after, it started to work properly, because it needed, as I suspected, some lube. Now, it just needed to be put back together. He tried for more than an hour, but could not figure out how to put it back together. He jerry-rigged it so the handle looked like it would stay on. It did not. A follow-up call to another locksmith turned out that a spring was somehow lost in the disassembly of the door knob. In any event, a complete replacement will be necessary at the cost of several hundred dollars. I should have known the fellow from Speedy was dicey when he immediately decided without much looking that a part replacement was needed. After he failed to get the knob back on, he hemmed and hawed when I asked if he could replace the entire thing. Clearly, he did not want to tackle that project. In his defense, he's a nice guy. Speedy may be just fine for unlocking car doors, but for anything more involved, I would look elsewhere.

Okay, for many years, but it's pretty damn fail-safe or else I wouldn't have gone through all the trouble of finding a locksmith. It would have worked perfectly had I not lost the key to access it. It could be laying somewhere in my home for all I know. Either way, patience is not my virtue so I flipped through the good, ol' reliable yellow pages and eeny-meeny-miny-moed through the comprehensive list of locksmiths and, lo and behold, I moed on TL&K. Don't let the exterior and security gates of this place fool or scare you away. Nor the gorilla statue sitting on top of the counter either. A quick search and a short whirring later, the fellow managed to, first of all, find the right series of keys and, secondly, shape it so it fits to perfection. I was a happy camper and put it straight to good use.
