I recently bought a vehicle from this dealership. The staff were great-- very friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with, which made the buying process easy. However, I was disappointed that the vehicle came with dealer-added accessories that significantly increased the price. Because this model was difficult to find, I expected to pay full MSRP. What I did not expect was nearly $1,978 in mandatory add-ons, including nitrogen-filled tires, wheel locks, tinted windows, and a year of paintless dent repair coverage. In my view, these items added very little value. The dealership was not willing to remove or negotiate these add-ons. Ultimately, I proceeded with the purchase due to the vehicle's limited availability. Terrible! Terrible! Terrible!!!! I got a maintenance required light on my 2014 Toyota Corolla. I went in to check the problem. I have had several instances where I have dropped off my car when a check engine light has come on, and several times they told me my spark plugs needed replacement. Thinking the problem was fixed every time, I continued to drive my car. The check engine light came on for the last time and I finally decided to take it somewhere else to be looked at. I had a BLOWN HEAD GASKET. As much as Toyota has had my car, and for as much money I invested in the repairs of my car there, it should have been caught before it got that severe. Recently I went to inquire about my maintenance required light. I was rudely told my car either needed an oil change or a tire rotation. I asked for my car to actually be looked at to determine which one was needed. I was told no. My car could not be looked at and I would just have to pay for both services to rectify the problem. Seeing as though I've spent so much money out of my own pockets for repairs at Toyota that didn't fix the real problems with my car but only masked the real problem until it gave out, I was skeptical about paying for these services only for the possibility of my maintenance required light coming back on a month after driving. I have now gotten a coupon in the mail for the services I came to inquire about. In any other instance I would have taken advantage of this coupon, but the attitudes of the workers here have absolutely soured any patronage of this business ever again. It feels like a real slap in the face. The employees here are absolutely ATROCIOUS with HORRENDOUS attitudes. They are pretentious pricks who act like me spending my money on my car is them doing me a favor. If your car is being repaired there, PROCEED WITH CAUTION and make sure they are actually fixing the underlying problem and not just masking it for a bigger pay out when your car finally gives out. read more

However, I must CAUTION you NOT to deal with a particular service representative, KIM SCOTT!! He informed me that my claim was denied, but when I called Toyota for clarification, I discovered the claim was never filed. He stated my tire tread was too low and that it would be denied, so he didn't even submit it. I'm not sure if this is Toyota's protocol, but I believe the department that deals with claims with Toyota should've been the one to deny the claim; policies in large corporations can change daily. Something could have changed just minutes before I arrived, and my claim might have been approved if filed. Instead, I was left in a stressful situation. The key fob is absent the actual key which has the ring one attaches to a key chain. The rep told me to make my complaint to Toyota. I'm so sorry I bought a Toyota & sorry I waited time bringing it to Chuck Hutton for service! When I remarked to the service rep that he represented Toyota, he replied that they did not represent Toyota. Told me he fixed my tire for free. The service dept did not address the major issues with the Sequoia, wind noise & insulation so poor that my hatch floor looks like the forest floor with dirt & leaves. Wind noise so bad I can't use the voice feature without stopping the car! He said all that was normal. Really? The Service Department was able to work effectively with me in order to successfully, and relatively inexpensively, install a Miller Cat security shield. Due to catalytic converter thievery, I independently purchased this metal shield for under $200 in order to perhaps prevent having to replace the catalytic converter for $2,000 +. (CHT honored their quote of two hours labor.) One quibble I have is with their destructive car wash. They ought to fix something that bends parts on cars that go through their wash! read more

Here's yet another bad experience! I HATE that I made my purchase with these people! I don't see how they sleep well at night knowing how they get over on people and nothing ever happens to them! My time is always wasted , communication is terrible, manager never calls back, it's literally always SOMEthing! I've been stressed and depressed since I left today. I was serviced for a wheel alignment on 1/12/24. The alignment still felt slightly off but couldn't tell so I continued to take my son to school each day. It wasn't until weeks later when I drove a longer distance that I noticed the pulling was still there. I spoke with Terrika who told me that the alignment as well as car alerts I received could be checked and have alignment corrected. She made an appointment for 2/24/24 for 7 am. However when I arrived per Brian there was no appointment, he wouldn't listen to all of my concerns, and rudely laughed in my face stating " yeah when you drove through the machine I can see that your alignment is off but you gotta pay for it or we're not correcting it" why do I need to repay for something that wasn't fixed right the first time. My experience with Toyota has been nothing but pure HELL and it's caused pure depression for me. There's always lies and no one takes ownership of their mistakes. Also tried to make me sign before hand saying vehicle was serviced when I've never had to do that before. I always sign afterward. He embarrassed me and singled me out in front of everyone! Just left Memphis for beach vacation to Gulf Shores, AL. Made it far as Church Road in Mississippi. Car died. Our FJ was Deader than a door nail. Called Chuck Hutton and talked to Brian in service. Told him we were headed out for vacation and asked if he could get us in today. He said YES! He sent a wrecker that showed up in a half hour and delivered it to his service department. Replaced alternator and battery. With in 4 hours we were on the road again. Saved our vacation! Brian is a first class pro. He and Chuck Hutton Toyota have a top notch Service Department. I took my car for service here after asking around work for a recommendation since I'm from out of town. I cannot warn others away fast enough; and the friend who recommended them is now looking for a new mechanic. All I needed was a standard oil change and for them to investigate a noise my brakes were making (which were completely replaced by a different Toyota dealership in May). Upon arrival, while checking in, it was brought to my attention that my car was "overdue" for a standard tune up. Alright, that's understandable, and I'm very pro preventative maintenance and I can't afford to have my car go down. I can't say that this was absolutely necessary, but they don't know what I've had done on the car since it was my first time there and they can only see work done from another Toyota dealership. During the tune up, three of the four cylinders "broke" while being removed, and were recommended to be replaced. I admittedly don't know much about cars, but this sounded scary and disconcerting. They did explain that they put the broken cylinders back in, and nothing was misfiring or coding, but it's not a guarantee. However, I can't afford for my car to go down, so of course I approved the replacement of all of the cylinders because I do know that if one of them were to truly fail, I would be stranded. This added $700 to my bill. Not great. At that point I chose to have them get me a shuttle to take me to work, as the one hour appointment I had was starting to stretch into a several hour endeavor. Roughly an hour after I arrived at work I got a phone call regarding the break noise. The mechanic was able to hear it and determined that there were connection points that needed lubricating and that the rotors would need to be resurfaced. This would be an additional $200 because it was considered a complete brake job. Even though the brakes were done by a Toyota dealership. I told them to forget it, and then was hung up on/call ended without a good-bye. This is perhaps one of the most annoying parts of this entire endeavor. I requested that any parts removed from my car be returned to me, and they were. I took pictures of everything and sent them to my mechanic back home, and explained to him what I was told. Ultimately it was settled that I was most likely taken advantage of, particularly because the cylinders shouldn't have broke the way they did by simply removing them; and I do feel like I WAS taken advantage of and discriminated against. Especially because I am from out of town and a woman of color. I must have presented them with an easy mark, because I can't imagine a man being dismissed or treated the way I was. I love my Toyota, it's the second one I've owned and likely will not be the last. However, I will never buy from this dealership again. Before Thanksgiving, I purchased a Rav 4 Hybrid. It is now mid-June and I still do not have my license plate. I've also had to resubmit my proof of residency for the current year, which tells me they didn't submit my forms until the following year. I have called, talked to receptionists, sales associates and managers and no one has an answer. Friends who've bought cars from other dealerships have received their plates in a matter of weeks so I know it's not the county clerks office. BUT -- The Chuck Hutton service department has given me a serious run-around, so bad that I called the Toyota Brand Engagement Center 1-800-331-4331. After nearly dying in heavy traffic on the freeway in rush-hour traffic when my steering stability system failed without warning -- I limped into the dealership where they refused to service the stability problem and gave me the above number. They said they "don't know how to fix steering stability systems". And that it was MY problem. Car is well within warranty -- one year down, two years to go. I called the national Brand Engagement Center (# above), they assured me repairs would be made AS PER WARRANTY --and after hearing nothing for anyone at Toyota, anywhere, for a week, I called again. Seems the service department had IGNORED -- simply DID NOT LISTEN -- to what i told them, had refused to service the vehicle, claiming I had an accident -- UNTRUE. And they had no basis WHATEVER to make that claim. Hit nothing, though 18-wheelers were trying to hit my vehicle from both sides with my emergency lights on. On the interstate, trying desperately to keep control of direction of vehicle. I was about to become a Toyota sandwich. And Chuck Hutton service refused to even look at the car. IT WAS A TERRIFYING experience. I'm 71, in reasonably good health, and not ready to die squashed between two HIGH SPEED 18-wheelers that I tried desperately to avoid. So NOW -- after a week of the service dept doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING -- Totyota will send a "regional" service guy to look at the problem. And we'll see what happens. This has been abysmal customer service from Chuck Hutton Toyota. The national Toyota Customer Engagement Center has taken action -- FINALLY. LOVE the car, HATE the Chuck Hutton service department. I would add that the rental car dept called me this afternoon at 5 PM -- my "rental" -- WRONG, a loaner car -- was due back today. One Ms Hwang who works there was SCREAMING at me like a veritable BANSHEE about the "rental" car. I told her the service dept had FAILED TO DO to make repairs IN WARRANTY, and she said that "wasn't her department". She was extraordinarily RUDE. I guess Chuck Hutton trains her to behave that way. This is my first time, and i just want to write it to let everyone know what a horrible, terrible experience i had in this place. If i could give them under zero as grade, i would. My wife cried once we left from there because of what the sales man told her and how he treated her. Even the salesman they brought after to sweeten the situation, lied about everything. Me and my wife went to buy a new car. We saw a few and then went inside to check on the price and details and buy it. My wife asked a few questions about the options on the car and the sales man knew nothing about anything. Every time she asked something, he went to ask someone else. And he was mean and was obvious that he wasn't happy with us (maybe because we are muslims and my wife was wearing a headscarf). After 2 or 3 times that he had to go and ask, my wife asked him nicely if someone else could come and help us instead so we don't waste time by going back and forward. He got super mad and left. I went to check if anyone else was coming and he told me that "he has a problem with my wife and we will have to deal with someone else from then on". The second thing, I noticed that the bumper was not even so I gave them a call to ask if that's normal on that car and they blew up on me out of nowhere. "WE'RE NOT GOING TO FIX ANYTHING, IS NOT OUR PROBLE, ETC". I was actually shocked. I wasn't calling to fight with them, just to ask a question. Third, I drove 2 hours away to get the tag and when I made it there they told me that the dealership didn't send the title. When I called them they told me that they don't send the title by mail anymore because they are afraid it will get lost. I asked them why they didn't tell me before and they said they called me and my number is disconnected. I have the same number for the last 15 years, so it was a lie. Very rude, disrespectful, racist and everything bad you can think of. I am very disappointed and will never be back. DO NOT EVER COME TO THIS PLACE FOR SERVICE ON YOUR CAR. just look at their 1 star reviews, look how they treat customers and ruin their relationship with Toyota over and over again. I took my car in for service 14 months ago because many errors came on the car including secondary break malfunction, LDA malfunction, drive start malfunction, and engine light. They fixed the problem and charged me $600 which I was okay with. 13 months later all the same lights come back on, I called them to see if maybe I could get my problem fixed with less or free of charge since obviously the problem wasn't fixed (I knew it was a reach to ask for that but did it anyways). When I called the manager STEVE stated that my car was taken in April of last year for check engine only. They literally created a false documents stating that I took it in for check engine only, good thing I have documentation of everything that was wrong with the car when I took it in. If you look up this problems online on a Camry 2018 or 2019 you'll find hundreds of customers having the same problem, was this falsely documented to not have to do recall on every Camry from those years because of how much it would cost them? I don't know we will find out. I agreed to take my car in for a diagnostic that would cost $145 or $160 after tax which would tell me what was wrong with the car and how much it would be to get fixed. The first time they stated that they didn't know what the problem was but they reset the system and the lights were off and charged me the amount above and told me if they come back on which they probably will just bring it back so we can see what new codes come up because right now it's mixed with old codes. 4 hours later the light came back on and I called to take it back in. Once I take it back in after day 1 they say that they're not sure what the problem is but they are being someone in tomorrow to take a better look, after the 2nd day they called me and said they're not sure what the problem is completely but they know where it possibly starts. That they can replace a part that would cost $1470 and that might fix the problem but that they aren't sure at all. Since they really don't know what the problem is and they're pretty much playing the guessing game I asked for a refund because it's ridiculous that they don't know what the problem is but still want to charge me $1470 to just see if that change fixes the car. If I pay for a diagnosis is for them to tell me exactly what's wrong and what would be the total to fix it. If you can't come up with an accurate answer why would you charge your customer for the diagnosis? I asked Steve for a refund he said sorry we are not issuing a refund. Like I said, luckily I have prove of documentation from last year for their false documents and we will see where this ends up. THIS IS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, I know we get desperate when something happens to our car but this place made it a thousand times worse. I can't give David enough accolades. He is always exuberantly positive, efficient, and knowledgeable about Toyota products. I consider him a genuine friend and he always makes a point to check in with me periodically throughout the year; whether it be when I bring a vehicle in for service or checking in via a phone call. He is simply superb. The dealership overall is friendly and honest. My new truck acquired a small gash in the front bumper during shipment and when I noticed it the dealership immediately ordered a new part to rectify the issue. I reached out to this dealership and told them the truth.... i got a bad deal, i was extememly under but not so bad, and i had a very poor credit score. After all the we got you, we can help you , let us try bs, they had the poor salesman lead me on for 4 almost 5 days, that it could work, they are waiting , i need to get in this vehicle not that one.. the typical car dealer lies. At the 4th day i told the salesman i give up and obvious it a no go... but noooooo he said they are working on it and trying to make a deal.. heres the problem for me. I have 22 toyota highlander with right at 11700 miles, extremely clean and they want to give the bare lowest basic price almost 4k under KBB but will not go down on their car. I get it, it is a business but dam, how do you run a business by not helping the customer out. They have same cars on lot(different color with 40k miles for 42, 000, they have one with 11000 miles for 48,000 so they make money off the deal so why offer me so low for mine, i tell you why cause their sales manager is so greedy to look good and make bonus off my car and sell it for 10 k more than they paid, finance manager is making a killing for working such a great deal and never lower price of their car they are making money off money. HOoray bonuses for the top dogs. Their technicians are subpar and even with diagnostic equipment seem unable to fix vehicle without you having to return for the same problem you originally brought the car in for. You can make an appointment but don't expect them to honor it. I had an 8am appointment they didn't start o my car until around 1pm. Oh yeah I had to call each time because no update were given from the service agent either. Maybe if they weren't so busy adding things that you didn't need and fixed what you came in for they could improve their quality of service. Also when I picked up my car the windshield was cracked when I inquired what happened they said the high temperature caused it because it was outside. How about if you had serviced my car like you were supposed too my car wouldn't have been setting outside two days. I could go on but it's too exhausting. I bought my car from Toyota chuck Hutton in Memphis tn on august 27 2020 and I have received 6 drive out tags they been giving me excuse after excuse on where is my real tags and the title it's been almost a half year with no tags and the bank is trying to update the title so my account will Be updated so that means they have yet to perfect the lien on my car and They had 5 months they are a horrible place to purchase a car from every time I call I always say talk to you're car salesman and please People never buy a car from this location they are a thief. They kept saying after thanksgiving and then it is after Christmas then now it's after New Years so what's best with this company i will never know. The bank been trying contact them since the loan been open and they just now responding on January 8 2021. So the bank is even tired of there mess. read more
