Needs work, games always going out, terrible service. When asked about my food because I was waiting for 3hour they told me they need to serve the birthday party first. Then us. After the 3hours passed that's when they said they were putting in my pizza. What is going on? They need more staff and a better management! read more

Im surprised on how much this place have been updated. My daughter loves this place. I just wished they forced on updating the rest of the building. Such as good bathroom doors. I was in Chuck E. Cheese with my two young grandsons and they had a great time! And the service was excellent! We had the opportunity to meet Barbara and Martha and Chris, and I would like to commend them for the professionalism and friendliness and williness to help us. They also went out of their way to make us feel welcome and were very kind to my grandsons. The pizza was awesome too! I would recommend Chuck E. I've notice they are so slow when it comes to taking your order in the register and they've become so unorganized when you arrive and try to get a stamp. Lately they automatically add a coil wristband to your purchase 1st time I caught it and I was just looking over my receipt and I didn't catch it they added a coil wristband the person at the register clearly saw I had coil wristbands from my previous visit since she reloaded my previous cards and yet they charged me for one and she didn't even asked if I wanted one. I don't appreciate items being added without my knowledge. read more

I've been coming to Chuck E. Cheese in Salinas since I was born. It use to be fun, but now when I take my son or nephews/nieces its not as fun. Half the games are ALWAYS broken/out of order. The play structure is gone! I was sad when they removed the ball pitt years ago lol. They need to expand and add more games. The food is decent, but the prices on tokens went up :(. It's so expensive to go now. They really need better and more games and a play structure!! read more

Normally I'd give this place a 2 star due to it's location and clientele that I've seen here prior - VERY scary. Today though my kids were out of school (a different city that the restaurant) but the locals were not. We had the place to ourselves! When we walked in there were 2 or 3 people cleaning and repairing items, the singular woman that checked us in and helped us with out order was outstanding and very accommodating. I was "impressed" and I never expect that kind of service here. We spent the first hour playing and had the place nearly to ourselves. I felt my kids were safe, the place was clean and not overly stimulating to my youngest son (who has environmental stimulus challenges). I was surprised that the pizza they were eating wasn't half bad either. While this is only the 2nd time our family has been there in 5 years we might go back under similar circumstances - midweek/local kids in school/early in the day. Don't do it! Had a party at 10:00 AM on a Saturday to avoid crowds. That part worked! No one else was there. The end. Service was slow, not what was ordered and unfriendly. They all acted like they had partied all night and didn't want to be there. $200.00 folks! Would like to add....at 12:00 when 2 hours were up, we moved to a different table. There was an incident with the new table accidentally tipping. The manager humiliated us by telling us we had to leave "because other guests were afraid". Huh? Avoid at all cost!! Do not plan your child birthday party there, unless you like to be mad, your kids frustrated and hungry. Employees are rude, and have awful attitude. We booked party on Sunday because we heard this place is busy on Saturdays. They were busy anyway. There is no way of contacting your party planner before Birthday because you get redirected to the one line who handles all country. So I was just hoping everything will be ready and prepared. My planner never called me like they usually do so when we arrived the table was empty no food, cups utensils, goodie bags, just balloons and my daughters name was there but misspelled. For a while I couldn't figured it who is my party planner no one knew, when finally I get a hold of one. She said they are busy and didn't prepare anything because they need to confirm my order. I told her she should have called me because that's what other planners were doing in our previous parties at Chuck E. Cheese. She lied me in the face telling she doesn't have to parents to confirm order before the party. After I confirm everything they left to ring me up. We got passes 26 minutes late in the party. All kids were just standing and waiting. After we complained, the planner and other employees had horrible attitude and were throwing cups, goodie bags at my table. It wasn't ever nicely set like in other parties at Chuck E. Cheese we had at different locations. In my opinion being busy it's not explanation to be rude. There was no food for another one hour and 10 minutes. Some food ( kids pizza and special pizza never arrived). After we got food we had to look for someone to bring us utensils. When my husband went outside to smoke he stood next to large group of employees on a smoke break as well. They were complaining that its busy, and they run out of many products and can't handle the crowds. Well maybe they shouldn't take smoke breaks in large groups. Also better attitude and organizational skills would help. We were very upset we got 25% off our bill but they never took out of receipt the food they haven't give us ( two pizzas). She said they can't remove items from a receipt. So really we got only few bucks less than it supposed to be. She said she will give us free points and stuff but really she didn't give us any coupon just wrote something on my bill. If I would decide to redeem it I bet I would have to go trough a lot of confused people to get that free stuff or maybe never get it. So we totally feel taken advantage of and definitely not planning to comeback or ever recommend this place to anyone. read more

We had a great experience at Chuck E Cheese in Salinas. It was a little more than we usually spend for a birthday party but everything was ready when we got there, our hostess was friendly and attentive, and we really felt like we got what we paid for! The things they provide for the birthday parties were great! We were worried that everything would be 5 tokens (a rip-off like most arcades...) but EVERYTHING was only one token! most disgusting place to eat and have your children play. Most of the machines are broken, not tickets printing and out of order signs small enough you wont see them. Food is disgusting and with the salad bar open with kids and adults sticking their dirty hands no wonder its not full. Rude employees and management and just brush you off if you have a concern. filthy, gross, dirty tables and trash everywhere. Women's restroom you most likely catch a rash with the bathroom stinky and no paper products and no soap.. who knows if you and your children will catch something leaving that place. I recently had my sons birthday on Sat at 8:00 pm. It was a perfect time frame because all my guests are in sports. I arrived at 7:00 pm because I wanted to update my pre order since the majority had rsvp and were all coming after a long day of sports games. There was really no point in coming early. At 7:50pm none of the previous parties were showing any sign of leaving. I had to look for the manager and ask what was going on. The staff promply did their best in asking guests to leave to set up for mine and another 8:00 pm. The set up was fast but my guests didnt sit till 8:20 and food didnt arrive till 8:45 pm I was very frustrated because my guests were hungry but the party planner was trying her best to please me and my guests with free tokens and soft drinks. It was so rushed that I paid and left. The next day I reviewed my reciept and noticed I was charged wrong and I didnt even get the goodie bags, collector cups, ice cream, pinata etc. I know it was because of the rush. I called and was told I needed to come in person. I came today Monday and explained and the manager was very nice in refunding me the difference! I am very pleased that I did not have to make such a fuss and I was treated with respect. My last advice would be for you to to double check ur receipt when you give the deposit because days after I reserved and paid I got a call saying I had not given my deposit, it turns out the cashier who took my deposit had placed it under another party. Luckily I had placed it in a safe spot in my purse and was able to clarify over the phone. Regardless, my kids had fun and will still come back again! I read the other reviews before I went there and was quite worried about what I would find. This is the only Chuck E Cheese's nearby, and my daughter has been begging me to take her to Chuck E Cheese's for a long time so I had to host my daughter's birthday party there. I decided to give 2.5 to 3 stars, higher then others, for the following reasons: 1. The bathroom was pretty clean when we first arrived. But within an hour a huge number of people arrived, and the floor got sticky, toilets got overflown, toilet papers on the floor... I think it is not that the staff did not clean it. I think this store is just overwhelmed with customers. 2. The party hostess was pretty friendly. However, she also looked overwhelmed. I had thought that each hostess only served one party but it looked like we were sharing one hostess with other parties. Again, she tried to take care of everyone and still had a smile on her face, but she was obviously overwhelmed. 3. The food wasn't bad. I would not call it cuisine, but for a kid's birthday party it was presentable.4. The playground machines were mostly working properly. My daughter and her friends (4-5 year-old kids) had a great time. When one malfunctioned I grabbed a technician and got my token back. I was told by other parents who had been to other Chuck E Cheese's that this one's playground is a lot smaller than other stores'. It was very crowded, but I guess a smaller playground area means it is easier to track where you kid is. While I was inside, I saw a lot of people waiting in line to get in. I think for the amount of customers I see, they should really hire more people in this store. It looks like there is only one staff per area, which is really not enough. This place has issues definitely but it is more of a management issue so I hate to trash a place where the employees work so hard. read more

Will never have child's birthday party there again. This location has gone quite downhill. First I make party reservation online on Sunday (including ordering the extra food for adults that we wanted). Went to location the same day at 4:19pm and made my $50 deposit. At 3:29 pm the following Thursday I get a voicemail from MINERVA that due to my "overdue" deposit the party had been cancelled. When I returned call and told them they made a mistake she tells me I'm rude and hangs up. I called back and asked to speak to the manager (Chris). Sadly, this young man is out of his league in managing a restaurant. He told me he had been gone a few days and had no idea what was going on. It was up to me to bring in the deposit receipt which was inconvenient for me that afternoon. I ended up having to leave work early, go home and get the receipt and make a special trip to show them the mistake they made. Chris the manager did not seem to think this was a big deal or that inconvenient. The day of the party was the worst birthday experience we have had. They advertise the wonderful birthday packages and unfortunately are unable to deliver. We had a hostess who was new to the job. While I respect the fact that someone needs training I do not feel they should have responsibility without someone by their side until they are ready. The girl had no idea what the form in front of her was saying and I had to point things out to her regarding the food items we had already ordered online. They also tell us that each child receives 30 tokens as part of the birthday package. Our party started at 12:30 PM and after asking three times we did not get our tokens until after 12:45 PM. We had already gone to the front and purchased tokens for the children attending the party. I told her she could make the food that we ordered for the adults but not to make the children's pizzas right away so they could have time to play. Apparently she did not understand and did not order anything. At 12:50 I did remind her we needed the food for the adults. We did not finish getting our food for the adults until 1:44 PM. We kept trying to find our hostess and others to help but she was never anywhere to be found. When the children's pizza was delivered they were eating and my husband asked me where was their beverages. She never brought the pitchers of soda that we had requested that are also a part of the party package. We also asked for 4 all-you-can-eat salad bars. That involves bringing a paper plate and a plastic fork. 20 minutes later and asking three different people we finally got the plates. The girl was not ready to take on a birthday party. When I went up to buy coffee for one of the adult guests the manager Chris smiled and asked me how everything was going. I told him we still didn't have any food and he said he would look into it. 30 minutes later nothing was happening still. My husband spoke to another manager in a blue shirt who we were told was the party manager. My husband walked away from that conversation feeling as though the man had no concern at all for anything he said. All of the adult guests there had attended previous parties of ours at the same location. All were in agreement that they had never seen service like this before and certainly noticed the lack of food being served to them. The last 30 minutes of our party another hostess took over but at that point it was too little too late. With the exception of the second hostess we felt that everyone we spoke to had no concern at all for how the party was going. Oh, would also like to mention it was not a busy time. There were no parties on either side of us in the party section and maybe two or three small parties a few tables down. Fortunately, young children don't realize what is going on behind the scenes and they enjoyed their time playing the games. Our adult guests were not treated as we like to treat our guests because we had no food to offer. Very disappointing experience and one I will not take the chance to have again. I went in to go reserve a date and time for my sons bday party coming up the manager wouldn't even listen to anything I had to say he just told me to go online or to call the phone number. When I asked why if the phone # on the paper is the same number to this location he tried to lie and say it wasn't that they have separate # to book a party that was BS I'm sorry I'm sure we all get frustrated at time at our job but bottom line it's your job if u don't like it I suggest u start looking for another one maybe where you aren't involved with so many customers.
