My 3 adult sons and I were visiting Monterey for the day and decided to do the Mirror Maze. At first the boys were rolling their eyes thinking it's for kids only but once they stepped inside that all changed....nothing but laughs and smiles lol. We had so much fun we decided to keep going...with and without the glasses. Great spot for all ages!!

Took our 12yo girls to aquarium of course and was looking for another Quick activity for them to do. Located on the walkway near the Sugar Candy store. Prices were$$ Paid entrance gets you unlimited times in maze. First time, it took the girls less than a 10 minutes or to complete and then afterwards they wanted us to time them to get through. They seemed to enjoy it. I'm glad I didn't go inside as it did seem like a very small maze.

We came in one night just for fun and had an AMAZING time!!! After going through the maze (once to get a feel and a second time with kaleidoscope glasses), we decided on some friendly girls vs boys competition in the lazer maze. Let's just say we had to rematch because the girls knocked it out of the park. Super fun experience!

We stopped into this place after the aquarium and it was so much fun! I've never been in a maze like this and the lights, music, and overall ambience made this a really special experience. What a cool little place to have on that strip of Monterey.

My kids made it to #5! They were so proud :)

We had a blast! Not cheap, but the kids had so much fun in the mirror maze and laser maze. It was a unique and fun experience. It was clean and not overly crowded. The manager was friendly and professional. My kids want to go back every day we are in town.

Unlimited rides wristbands for all, plus catered lunch at the Sun Room at The [Cocoanut] Grove venue. I haven't been to the Boardwalk in maybe 20 years, but did go a bunch when I was little. It's their Centennial year too, 100 years! Love the carnival style games, classic arcade, rides, caricature artists, and of course, the main beach. I specifically sought out the Giant Dipper wooden Rollercoaster, the original Looff Carousel with the brass ring catching game, and the sky gondola this trip. Since food was provided at the Grove I passed on the funnel cakes, beignets, Dippin' Dots, pretzels and the like. They did have a commemorative reusable/refillable drink cup with a bendy straw though. The MyFunMoment selfie stations weren't working that day though. Didn't stay for summer nights live music or movies on the beach, and rides go till late. A fun day trip, great weather!

They said it was one of the scariest rides they've ever been on and felt like they were almost coming out of their seats because the lap bar was the only restraint. As a parent, that was really unsettling to hear. I was surprised there wasn't an over-the-shoulder restraint or seat belt, which would have made us feel much safer. I know many people love this historic coaster, but based on my kids' experience, it's just not a ride we'll be doing again.

Going on a week day is less crowded however you might see kids attending summer camps. We went on Monday, July 6th and there was hardly any lines everywhere. Maybe it was because people were still vacationing for the July 4th weekend. The most we waited was 5 minutes. Sometimes they are not very efficient when letting on new riders such as the ferris wheel. We were able to get on all the rides and even repeated some rides because there was no line. You might have to wait for the train ride since it circles around. There's another pick up / drop off point halfway as well in case you want to get off, do something and get back on later. The paddle boat ride (ducks and swans) was fun - they tell you to paddle for 5 minutes then you need to paddle back. Every rider must wear a life jacket for safety reasons. The handle bar to control left or right turn was a little tricky but you get used to it. Yes - the food prices are high - which I was not surprised. I had a craving for a funnel cake which costs after taxes $17+ which shocked my hubby. The more crowded it is, the longer you'll need to wait in line and the fewer rides you'll be able to get on - so I suggest getting there when they open to maximize your time since they close at 5 or 6pm. We focused on the rides and didn't tackle the kids water park. P.S. I was informed after I posted this there are maps available. We were not able to find any.

Many kids on matching shirts. The group leaders assemble them without thinking blocking entrances to bathrooms and other walkways. So our last visit was a Saturday because Dan works weekdays. We left him this time to try a weekday. No fast passes needed weekdays. This time the large roller coaster, train and monorail were running. BTW the website never tells you what is not operating that day. We rode all 3 and also our first stop was the water park. Boys in swimsuits. The liked the biggest slides. Afternoon was really busy there as we walked by. Go when park opens at 11 to water park. Park upkeep. The bathrooms are not very clean. Dried urine visible on floors and toilet seats. The botanical garden aspect of the park which was the original builders intent is neglected. We never see any groundskeepers. !!!! The park has flowerbeds and planting areas most with weeds 18" tall. Comparing it to other theme park landscaping it's a real mess. I took a couple photos to demonstrate. Our visit was ruined for about 45 min. We were waiting for the model t cars to drive. First the woman in front of us with a couple kids kept looking up. And you know she's looking for someone. Then her husband starts cutting the line and keep in mind we would in the 2nd car after then in first. So he cuts the line with a kid and another adult. Now there's 5 of them. Then another woman shows up cutting line with another kid. Now it's a hoard who has cut in. Then a car comes up to unload and 3 kids say. The 4th kid jumped out on the ride. So they shut down all the cars. The guy tells us it should only be a few minutes. And all this time the annoying guy in front of us is trying to get kids, not himself to decide who is going in each car and who is driving and he asks this question like 12 times until we are ready to scream. He's an enabler. And remember we were going to be in the 2nd car until about 6 people cut to be with their group. This threw us back another 2 or 3 more cars to wait. So the ride is stopped. Everyone is waiting. They called maintenance lol. And a supervisor. Nothing to maintain. It's not broken. The girl who jumped walks up and is fine. She dropped water bottle and jumped for it. Water bottles should not be allowed in rides but this is the lax management. No other theme park would allow refillable water bottles loose on rides. She's fine. They talk to her. She should of been kicked out of the park for danger and stopping ride for the rest of us but no they just let her go Then they tell us. Everyone must leave and we are not restarting the ride. It's down. Really after telling us short time to wait in the 90 degree heat. We were furious! Member discounts. Website says discounts on food drinks and merchandise. But at kiosks they say no. Only at restaurants. Webster is very hard to use and poorly managed. It has zero detail on what is included in discounts or any exclusions. Note: the larger Silver something roller coaster is very jerky. Even the kids commented on how jerky it is. Not a smooth ride and it's broken down a lot. Overall, I'm never going back. Enough.

Danny the Dragon and the rollercoaster ride were down for maintenance which sucked -- my oldest was most excited for these ones, we've never been before but in every video he's come across these are known as the "not to miss rides" He did however, enjoy/love all other rides which is the main reason for the 3 star review. Most animal enclosures/exhibits were covered. We saw no more than 10 animals here during our visit. My son was surprised this was called a "zoo" lol. It was super disappointing. The goat petting area was appreciated, it did keep my kids entertained for a bit. It was pretty busy for a Thursday but lines for the open rides moved quickly. The playground however, does get full quickly lol. It was a hit for my kids as well. Food: you're better off packing your own snack/lunch. It's self serve and quick which is appreciated but let's be honest, the quality was horrible. The cheeseburger was so hard to eat even my husband was disgusted. He had the grilled chicken sandwich and said it was "okay" My kids had macaroni and cheese, it was Kraft so couldn't mess up there lol. Pricing is also ridiculous but expected. We paid $60 for 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 Mac and cheeses Overall, probably wouldn't return, it was an hour drive and just not worth it with all the closed down things, wish they mentioned this on the website -- only the rides are referenced
