Small area. Not the Chuck E. Cheese I grew up up on. Can't combine tickets, food took a while, it's expensive. I won't be coming back here.

This is one nice Chucky Cheese, clean and bright. It's a bit smaller than most but it's just right. my family and I went on a Thursday at 11am and it was the perfect time, there were only 3 other sets of families there. More kids started coming in at 12ish, but we left before the rush. $20 for 80 tokens.. and most games took 1 token, so that was great. I saw other families eating and the food looked good. They also have a salad bar. The service was nice too, everyone was friendly... Lucky we got there before their patience ran out. Our son had a great time..

Okay so positives first. a) It's neat and clean in compare to others b) customer service is not bad either c) Their sitting arrangement is scattered all around so depending on your preferences/you can sit anywhere. Negatives- a) Its smaller and thus gets too crowded specially in weekends. b) They have adjusted machines so you will get max 4 tickets. That's cheating because you pay same money. c) The pizza thing is positively disgusting. Their 6 slice pizza is almost equal to one slice in size. We ordered one large and 6 slice one and literally socked after looking it. Please don't order it.

Who doesn't love this place??? This place is freaking amazing!! So much fun for kids or adults that are kids at heart, like myself. There are tons of games to play and teaches kids how to be competitive. Games are only one token each which is an amazing deal. I was able to find a coupon from snip snap for $20 for 100 tokens and it lasted 3 hours, where else can you have this much fun for so cheap?! They have a huge space for the party area for kids birthdays. The tables are nice and long and can fit about 15-20 people per table. They have their basic food primarily convenient for kids like pizza, fries, tenders and a salad station for those who want to be healthy. This is definitely the nicest, cleanest , friendliest Chuck E Cheese that I have ever been to! I highly recommend it, there's also tons of free parking, and the best time to go is early when they open. Gooo have fun & enjoy. " Where a kid can be a kid"

Haven't been to a Chuck E Cheese in ages! This is a new location that just opened up in my hood. They do offer their typical pizza, but now even added a salad bar. Pizza is as good, ahem bad as I remembered. They got games, oh plenty of games. Since the place is newly opened, the games aren't as "greasy" with soda and pizza prints as it will be in the near future. There's plenty of space for you to sit and relax. And of course Chuck E. Cheese himself is walking and dancing around with the kids.

    $26 dollars for this?

"Rots from the top" - writing this review after a second experience (another occurred in 2021) by rude employees at this location, but this time the manager on duty was the perpetrator of mistakes and vileness etc; So I ordered wings (bone in), which he made a mistake of ringing up and putting in for boneless (even though we had a two minute conversation at the time about how they are back to serving bone-in, which were not available for months, due to COVID I presumed), so my order had to be redone (after first being told he would charge me $4 more now for bone-in, which he then self-corrected or realized he could not with any conscience do), but then the bone in wings they brought were down right inedible (pic attached); so I forced down a few of them as I had now waited well over an hour since the initial order. I can't remember asking for a food refund, so well over 10 years, but here I felt I should not pay for the wings, but was willing to pay for everything else (son's pizza, sodas and gametime) in spite of my inconvenience. But then the vitriol and fury came, when I asked for the refund on just the wings. I was told (after childlike panting, angry looks, like the nerve of me, followed by arguing or gas lighting the wings were not bad and that's how they always serve them, that they are baked and not fried, etc, so that's why they look and taste that way, etc (just look at my pic and let me know what you think) - The manager asserted I was already refunded my game time (another blundering, but angry misstatement, that when corrected by me, was met with silence, no apology) and that I was being charged less than I would have anyway, so I realize a few confusing refunds and recharges were made to my credit card, but I summed it all up saying "look, I'm willing to pay for everything other than the wings". My complaint here is the sub-par food quality combined with unnecessary mean-spiritedness. Just saying, find a good hearted nice person (even if somewhat lacking in ability) to be in charge. Why lie about the wings saying they were of good quality, in effect, debating my intentions, like I'm wrong for wanting to be able to eat the food I'm served and somewhat enjoy it. I know this is a new world after COVID, but it's hitting a breaking point now. High prices, meanness and poor quality? Getoudahere!

Opportunity to win ZERO tickets, this is not a mistake!!! All machines the same kids can get at this location up to 4 tickets!!

(Played 04/18/2025 FR @ 7:00pm): Arcade and bar... two things that went well together!…read more In my quest to explore the various cuisine scenes and things to do throughout Jersey City and specifically the Heights, my friend's friend mentioned that Jersey City's Barcade was closing after this very weekend, and she had a ton of tokens that needed to be used before then. Established in 2004 in Brooklyn by four close friends, Barcade was the originator of the arcade bar concept and the largest operator of arcade bars in the United States. Each location featured between 40-75 video games and pinball machines mostly from the classic period of the 1980s as well as 25-30 American craft beers on draft in addition to a full bar with cocktails, craft spirits, and pub food. Locations have opened in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, California, and Michigan. All locations are certified green by the Green Restaurant Assoc., a national non-profit organization that recognized and certified environmentally responsible restaurant and bar operations. I've been to the lone California location in Highland Park and had a blast. On this celebratory somber weekend, how was Barcade's swan song!? PURCHASE Pepsi Soda 12floz Draft ($3.00): Not a Coca Cola carrier, my friend had to do with their competitor which she wasn't happy about. Ginger Beer 12floz Draft ($3.00): My friend switched to one of my favorite non-alcoholic drinks to rinse the Pepsi out of her mouth - LOL! Rainy Day Real Estate Mocktail 12floz ($10.00): Because I was still in the throes of my annual ritual of no alcohol during Lent, I went with this drink crafted with housemade pineapple shrub, fresh lime juice, and ginger beer. The name initially got me (it was a take of a band I liked) and pineapple. It was a refreshing concoction with too much ice and a steep price tag. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=dpX0j4rsVWmTIksgTrxPnA Pseudo Fruito Mocktail 12floz ($10.00): This faux cocktail was mixed with housemade strawberry shrub, fresh lime juice, and tonic water. Equally refreshing as my first drink with more fruity flavor, but again too much ice and the price. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=_4Tkt6GNwpcE_I4BX-ReRg Tokens (N/A): Games ranged between 1-2 tokens ($0.25/token), but because someone had a ton of tokens to use, I received a bunch for free! I geeked-out and played games such as Bubble Bobble, Burger Time, Crystal Castles, Dig Dug, Frogger, and Tapper - memories! SERVICE The bar was crazy as you tried to get a drink, and I wasn't a fan that if you opened a tab, you had to give both your credit card and ID. If you needed tokens, just have your cash ready for the machine - 'nuff said. PARKING (Street; N/A this instance) This was an easy 25-minute walk from my friend's place. Otherwise, this was on a pedestrian-only section of town, but there appeared to be random spots (no known private lot) off the main drag of Newark Ave. and all surrounding roads, or best to utilize the very good public transportation light rail - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A high ceiling packed layout https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=n7rz5CwjT4kAQpJxOOqTKA of video games and pinball machines along every conceivable wall and even some in the middle of the floor, with a massive bar surrounded by a ton of stools while some tables were here and there. Honestly, every space was maximized to the fullest. Decent natural lighting came through the tinted large windows and doors while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There weren't any TVs while loud rock music blared in the background and drowned out everything else. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=2WhjRfktJ1jFmWH68IipjQ ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was sad to hear that Barcade's Jersey City location was closing, but I was glad to be a part of it in some way, especially since I unknowingly knew the brand from their Highland Park location. Although it was packed during its final weekend, according to my friend's friend, it always seemed busy whenever she went, so the closure couldn't have been due to a lack of business. From the awesome games, frenetic vibe, expansive beer and drinks selection, and the game prices, a fun time was had by all! Apparently, they also had a weekday happy hour! And, I always loved supporting small businesses whenever possible (only nine locations now). I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $28.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Besides that, we played the mini NES and Sega consoles, "Medium" Jenga and Connect 4 (they're not quite giant) and shuffleboard. All were free. We had reservations for yesterday's Friday night and there weren't any tables available when I got there, but I gently reminded the host of my reservation and he immediately accommodated my party. :) I wouldn't really call this place a "restaurant". Sure, Route 66 Smokehouse is supposed to be on the bottom floor, but it's really more of a bar (with a few games down there as well). The upstairs is quite spacious, and also has a bar up there as well, though it was a really busy night and the bartender had to keep leaving to help downstairs. He seemed a bit overworked, but still managed to do his best and be very attentive to our questions and requests. While the Sucker Punch drink is expensive at $16, I recommend it because it's pretty big for an adult capri sun. Also, while it says "homemade fruit punch", don't expect it to be too fruity. I got the Cracklin Pork Clouds and I question how "homemade" they really are. But get the BASKET OF BISCUITS. Is it actually NOT a basket with just 2 giant biscuits? Yes. However, THOSE were most definitely homemade, fluffy, slightly outer crisp with soft cloudy inside and the accompanying BUTTAH, MMMMM. What's interesting is that our reservation was for 7. By about 8:30 the upstairs place started clearing out; it was literally just my friends and maybe 2-3 other groups. On a Friday night! Then, when it was time to go by around 9:30ish pm, when we went downstairs to leave, the DOWNSTAIRS area was PACKED. Wall to wall bodies. It was almost bizarre how empty the upstairs was, but how packed the downstairs was. But lucky for us because we got to play so much, unhindered. I would come back and try the cool chicken sandwich. Only reason I didn't get it this time around is because I wasn't that hungry.

The foosball table is completely broken, and the pool table is wobbly and unstable. The atmosphere is just as bad. There's no music playing, which makes the entire place feel dull and lifeless. The employees seem completely uninterested and not helpful at all -- whether it's empty or packed, the service and vibe don't get any better. When it's crowded, it's even worse because there's barely any space to move around or enjoy yourself. Bottom line: I won't be coming back.
