I would like to express how during the covid-19 pandemic Chubby Cheeks business has been effected both financially and personally. When it all started months ago our store had mixed feelings about the future and in what direction we would go. Some of the staff at work became paranoid about the pandemic and soon as the pandemic reached Ark. they quit due to the fears of infecting the families and others. We soon started wearing masks, gloves, sometimes face shields and would spray all equipment and utilities down every night before closing. When the lockdown took effect and the people in the area had no where to go to have fun our sales hit all time highs. After the first week of lockdowns we had to higher more staff than I have ever seen just to try and keep product on the shelf's, taking orders from the drive threw in attempts to keep cars out of the highway, added security to man the front doors and monitor customers in the store, etc.. We have seen a mass shortage of everything from toilet paper, beer, liquor, mixes cleaning supplies, and tobacco products. To this day we do not have access to fifths of patron silver, Jose Cuervo mixes, dusse fifths. We have sporadic access to some products as that we will have it one week and gone the next. I have also seen it personally affect customers that are regulars, an example of this would be a lady that come threw or drive threw has to move back home because the have lost their house due to not being able to work and provide from their family's. Another is when one of our employees tested positive for covid-19 and missed three weeks of work infected their girl friend, and exposed the whole staff the the vires. The staff were all tested and came back that no one had contracted the vires. At Cubby Cheeks I have seen people having go now live off of food stamps, government assistance, sell their possessions, and make stupid decisions by buying booze instead of making that car payment etc. All in all this business has helped a lot of people here recently. They have hired people who had lost their job due to the lock down allowing the to make an income where previously they had lost their pay check. I have met allot of good people working here, I have made friends with coworkers and customers, some that I see so often and have such a predictable buying habit that by the time they reach the window at the drive threw I have their order already ready. I have had some very negative encounters with some people such as yelling and throwing trash, and I have seen some people do disgusting things such as vomiting in the parking lot, to people defecating in the store. We have a local preacher who preaches to the people who come in the store and the people who prefer to stay in their cars and use the drive threw. As the covid-19 pandemic tears through the world destroying lives, destroying economies and city's I pray to god that I am still here, still working, and haven't been affected as much as other's.
