I…read morehad a family physician growing up in my hometown, served on Active Duty in the military under numerous doctors, served in the National Guard under different doctors, have lived in three different cities with different family physicians and the Terre Haute Medical Clinic was the absolute worst. The staff that answers the phones, confirms appointments and greets customers act as though they hate their job, were completely unprofessional and hateful. When trying to get my records transferred, I had a signed release form faxed from my current family physician and watched the gal at the front desk do it. The staff at the THMC told me I needed this form signed and faxed so that's what I did and the staff at the Terre Haute Medical Clinic either never executed the transfer of my records or just threw the fax away. When I called to check on the status of my records, the staff said "even if we did get the fax we legally have 30 days to send them." After that response, I asked if she could check to verify my records were still there and the gal answering the phone that day said she doesn't have time to check for my record. I told her I needed that record so my new doctor could provide the same prescription that worked for my ailment in the past and she said "Sir, I don't have time to look for your record, we don't have email so send another fax" and then hung up on me. Part of being a respected family physician, or a respected business for that matter, is not just the service or treatment, but the entire experience. If you are only meeting your patients half way, why would you expect your patients to be loyal to your practice?

The lady said the only thing available would be in Indianapolis which home health care workers don't provide transportation to, but l found a new doctor much closer. All my specialists are in Bloomington or Martinsville or Mooresville but this person doesn't even believe in Chronic Traumatic Enphalitis Seizure Disorder which are monitored electronically. She called my neurologist incompetent! He's lovely and intelligent and very well respected!

While I haven't been a patient of Dr Hsu's for almost two years, now, and ohhhh how deeply I miss…read moreher!, I felt that I needed to come here and write a review for her for the following reasons: 1) She deserves it! And I'm shocked to see that I'm the first person to review her! Good gracious, Dr Hsu is like... she's like the kind of doctor you pray you'll find. Warm, compassionate, understanding. She listens like no other. She spends time with her patients, doesn't rush them, takes thorough notes, thorough histories, and sets comprehensive plans! If you're not seeing Dr. Hsu, the only question you need to ask yourself (besides, "Did I fall on my head?") is, "Why not??!" 2) Having moved to Texas, I am deeply pained by how difficult it is to find an excellent GP. These doctors have more mood swings than all the cast for the entirety of the TV show Dallas! And that's saying... A LOT! What I wouldn't give for a doctor like Dr Hsu. What I wouldn't give for half a doctor like Dr. Hsu! Whether it's the bottom or the top, she's still running circles around these fools. =P 3) I don't know if I expressed it clearly enough, how much I appreciated her as my primary, before we moved away. For months after we left, she continued to prescribe a certain medication for me, a med that was difficult to find the right doctors for. Even though I'm sure it put her in a bit of a spot, she did it without hesitation or complaint. She did it because she wanted me to be okay. Because, as her patient, I came first. It's more than just an oath with Dr Hsu... which isn't to say that that's not enough or important to her, but it's just...she's more giving than she probably should be. That's no weakness, trust me. It's just that she's such an amazing person, it's really hard to put it all into words. If I had two hands full of sparklers, a line of fan dancers, an acoustic amphitheatre filled with rockin' classical, and a blimp overhead with a sign that read, "Dr. Jennie Hsu-Lumetta is the bestest doctor EVER," I still don't think I could do her justice.
