Doctor was kind. However, when i got the call back with my results an employee in the background said "how do you get staph infection in..." as the were hanging up the phone. im no expert but sounds like a HIPPA violation to me. Don't get treated here if you don't want all of your personal business out in the open for all the office staff to hear and comment on. I've had excellent service/treatment from Ambucare in the past... most recently, I had some issues that took some trial and error on best meds. NP Boland was amazing! He listened well, gave me med options, explaining well the benefits and side effects. A follow up visit to tweak one, he was still caring and listened well to my situation. Terrible service. I waited forever just for the staff to be rude and inconsiderate. Told me stuff i already knew and said "that's all i can do for you buddy" when i literally could not walk on my foot. Doctor proceeded to tell me i "couldn't have a scooter" when really i just needed to know what was wrong with my foot. No compassion and very unprofessional. Do not recommend. Go to the ER before you come here. read more

We were traveling and needed to see a physician. We found Ambucare. The staff was super helpful and very friendly. The wait was not long at all but they were not busy either. The Dr was super nice. The overall atmosphere here just seemed upbeat and friendly. read more

Wonderful Doctors! Receptionist and some of the Nursing Staff could benefit from additional training courses in Customer Service! On more than one visit I've experience terrible attitude from nursing staff, in person and on the phone. I understand everyone has a bad day and lots of us are over worked..but that's not an excuse to be rude or talk down to anyone! You are employed because of my business and the business of my community. Be mindful of that next time you want to be rude to your clients! read more

Boy, oh boy, am I fuming. I have been on antidepressants for years for my severe depression and anxiety. After seeing my doctor, he told me if I needed a refill to just call. He said the women up front would most likely not like that. This told me there was already an issue, so I dreaded calling. I called for a refill after my pharmacy told me I had none remaining. The two women I spoke to immediately raised their voices with me and talked over me. They treated me like an idiot and had no empathy for my situation. Not a great idea to treat a patient with mental health issues like that. I am so insanely upset with how I was treated. If you are seeking kindness go elsewhere. read more

My husband and I have known Dr. Ray and LNP Steve Sappington for 30 years. We trust them implicitly and highly recommend them. We completely trust their judgment. If they trust another doctor enough to hire and/or work with them, then that doctor has our trust as well. read more

Always make you pay $30 or more upfront to see a doctor. Other clinics in the area are free and won't do this. Some of the staff members are nice but I recently dealt with probably the rudest person I have ever spoken to on the phone. It was not a busy day and I had been promised a refill on my prescriptions before my pharmacy closed that day but never got them. I called for the third and final time and had to deal with an awfully rude woman on the phone, who was very clearly pushing me off despite the day being rather slow for them. I had showed up two times prior to that phone call to the clinic and had to remind a staff member twice to let my doctor know I needed a refill on my prescription. She insisted that she let my doctor know already and yet, still no refills. Horrible service, find a different clinic in the area to go to. read more

It can be crowded depending on the day or time but the care and service my family has received there has been wonderful. They are always attentive and friendly, even when they are busy. The office is always clean and billing department is very efficient. I have multiple kids and the nurses, doctors, and nurse practitioners we've seen there are always kind and kid-friendly. One of my children had a mysterious bump on his leg that they suspected to be a non-cancerous tumor and although they referred us on for more testing elsewhere, they were very reassuring and helped me to not fret & worry until we got our next appointment. (And that is what it turned out to be.) read more

What a scam! I contracted some poison ivy so I sought medical help. Since my family doctor was on vacation I went to Ambucare. After checking in and waiting an hour I was informed the doctor I was "assigned " to was a specialist so I had to pay an additional $60 up and above my insurance deductible. I left and went to the clinic at CVS where my insurance covered all of it. read more

The level of incompetence at this place completely amazes me. However I am at fault for going back a second time. I'll start by saying that when I first moved here almost two years ago I was lazy and didn't want to establish a new Doctor for my family so I decided to just use a walk in clinic instead. Big mistake. My first visit was because my daughter was having pain in her chest, I took her here and after an exam and chest xray. The doctors diagnosis was something called pleurisy, which I had never heard of, he explained to us that it was a hole in the lining around her heart, very painful but not serious and could be taken care of with a prescription for antibiotics and pain meds. So they told me that they would fax over her prescriptions to walgreens. After leaving the clinic I wanted to know more about pleurisy, so I Googled it and then spoke to several nurses who I work with and came to the realization that it's actually a hole in the lining around her lungs not her heart!!!!! Then when I showed up at walgreens about an hour later, they didn't have a prescription for us because it was never faxed over or called in! An hour after our visit! Then when the pharmacy went to call them it was already closed by then so my daughter had to wait until they opened the next day to get her antibiotics and pain medication! Then just yesterday I brought my son there for a staff infection. The doctor saw him and decided that he had to have the infection cut open, drained, cultured and then treated with antibiotics. I asked if they were going to also give him anything for pain. I was told that he would feel better right away because after it drains the pressure subsides and the pain does too. I then explained to the doctor in great detail about how I didn't want a repeat of what happened last time with the prescription debacle and they assured me that wouldn't happen. OK. So I spent about three hours shopping before heading over to walgreens to pick up his prescription. When I got there, yup, you guessed it, the script had not even been sent over. So I called the ambucare office and had the pleasure of speaking to an extremely rude receptionist. Was I angry? Yes. Did I most likey have an attitude after being duped and inconvenienced twice by this joke of a medical facility? Yes. However the girl who I was speaking with told me if I didn't calm down she would hang up on me. I'm so glad she didn't because that would have forced me to drive back there and show up there and believe me at that point nothing good would have come of that situation. I ended up actually hanging up the phone on her so that I could regain my composure. Walgreens was nice enough to Call them back for me and request the script be faxed over. Even the pharmacist at walgreens said the person she spoke to on the phone was "short" with her. Unbelievable. Guess it's time for me to establish a family doctor here once and for all because that's the last time I'll choose convenience over competence. Terre Haute Ambucare, what a joke. I also find it necessary to note that when my son woke up this morning for school he was in serious pain because of the cut in his armpit. But I guess the doctor doing the cutting knows best what it feels like to have a gash in your armpit. The pain did NOT subside after it was drained. Thanks DOC! ;) read more

I have used Ambucare for myself and my family for many years. They are compassionate and professional. You do have to wait, but that is how it works without appointments. I have actually tried a few family practitioners, and I trust Ambucare more. read more

My daughter comes to this office for a hand injury. The reason we took her there was due to the fact they had a X-ray machine. After she was assed the physician Dr. Rader instructed my husband she needed to go to the ED because she had nerve damage that could be a major threat to mobility of her hand. However this was determined not my a x-ray or any other test just a physical exam. Please do not waste your time on a office who does not give their patients the proper treatment. read more

I went to the clinic at about 5:30 pm on a weekday. I expected it to be busy, so I was fine with sitting in the waiting room for an hour. The nurse got me back and the doctor was in within 10 minutes, so I was impressed. After the doctor was done, they left and closed the door. The nurse never told me I could leave or told me about what my next steps were; she literally forgot I was there. Finally at about 8:45, I thought there was no way they were still too busy for me, so I left my room and heard, "I didn't know you were still here!" As we had a back-and-forth about how mad I was to be forgotten, I never heard an apology; the nurse tried to put the blame on me (as if I was supposed to know to leave by myself). I had a test ordered the next day and when I got to the hospital, they didn't have my order, so I had to wait another hour. Results for that test took 3 day; I was told I'd get results that evening. Then a few days later, another person from the clinic called to give me the results, but did not know what the abbreviation DVT stood for and started talking to me about diverticulitis (instead of deep vein thrombosis). I have never dealt with such an unprofessional business in my life! read more
