Carol helped us get signed up with a package and we took classes every day, which helped us stay limber and not be so stiff and sore after flying home. Katie was such a wonderful soul and instructor. Melissa helped to ensure we were not left behind and were doing things correctly. Thank you all! Plus the class participants were absolutely lovely and welcoming.

The environment is comfortable and scrupulously clean - which is a big thing for me at any kind of gym or studio! I've been taking PIlates - they offer mat Pilates, which is a serious workout - YogaTone, a dance / Yoga fusion developed by the owner, Kara Keating, and Flow Yoga, which is a series of continuous movements that build strength and flexibility. My wife and I have both been taking classes at Movement Arts for around three years. Some reasons why, aside from good teachers and a super clean, comfortable environment, are: I like that the instructors - even in the group classes - take the time to work with individual students, helping us with our form and approach. The wide variety of classes and the fact that they offer classes in the morning, afternoon and early evenings most day makes it very convenient to attend the classes we want. The studio also offers regular yoga excursions - at reasonable prices - to places like Maui, Costa Rica and other spots - all in search of the perfect Downward Dog! :) Finally, I appreciate the community feel of Movement Arts - it is definitely not like a gym, where you go to work out and then - you're gone. This is the kind of place that I hope will help keep us stronger, more flexible, health(ier) and happier for many years.

This is my absolute favorite yoga studio that I have ever practiced at. I taught here for a while…read moreand chose to travel 30-40 min each day one way from where I lived in Sudden Valley because I loved teaching here better than any other place!! Scott, the owner, has created a place where any person at any level in their yoga journey can walk in and feel welcome and appreciated and can experience growth in their physical practice far beyond anything they might get any other way. There are a variety of classes to choose from, ranging from hot to warm to unheated, from beginner's yoga and Vinyasa or Starlight yoga to power yoga and interval training classes. The main yoga studio is equipped with infrared heat and painted with a stars scape and moonlight view across the ceiling and one wall that glows under black light and is utilized by many of the teachers in their classes. There are brand new showers and a beautiful bathroom/changing area where you will find everything you might need but often forget(if you're like me, lol), like Q-Tips, hair ties, tampons and pads, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, etc... As far as the actual instruction, Scott is extremely knowledgeable about the body and has a thorough understanding of the muscles and joints and how the body works. He provides safe instruction and takes the time to share valuable information whenever it is asked for about how to grow healthier and stronger while remaining injury-free. He has personal experience with the healing power of yoga after experiencing extreme illness that debilitated him, and that deep understanding overflows into his work with the people who show up for classes as well as for one-on-one instruction. His humility shines through to create a defining difference in his teaching from what you usually find in the hot yoga world. It's a difference that is both comforting and indicative of an ideal learning environment where students can feel good about themselves and what they're doing for their bodies, whether it's their first class or their 400th. Also, it's important to note that even though he knows how to break it down to the basics and be gentle, his power class is intense and at times incredibly challenging to even the most vigorously trained athlete. You'll walk out feeling AWESOME with a natural high that leaves you eager to come back for more! The wide array of teachers at this studio are all equally as personable and knowledgeable, each creating a class that is their own but always leaves you feeling great. I highly recommend this studio, to the point that I'd say, if you're within a 45 min drive of the Yoga Lounge, you NEED to check it out and consider making it a regular thing!
