Shout out to Jay, who is one of the newer tattoo artists in the Eglinton location. She was great for both my initial and my touch up appointments. It was my first tattoo and I was petrified. She was very calming and very patient with me. she explained both the process and aftercare in great details during both appointments. Not to mention her art kicks ass. Overall the place is really clean and the staff is great. COVID-19 measures are strictly followed and I felt safe health wise. I can't wait for my next tattoo!

Made an appointment with Danny O to get my leg sleeve designed back in September 2018. Although his schedule was super tight, he was able to fit me in since I was flying out from California. He was really easy going and at times when I wasn't too sure about my design or certain things, he would give me his honest opinion and suggestions which I thought was pretty cool. When I first met him, he was a super chill guy to talk to during my sessions with him. One thing that stood out to me was how hard Danny O's willing to work because we were getting close to closing hours during my first session but Danny wanted to get as much detail done as he could since he knew that I'd only be able to fly out once or maybe even twice a year to get some work done. Too bad I didn't have time for to stay but I do appreciate him for offering to do that. Overall it took us about 2 consecutive days and around 14 hrs total. Definitely not done and will be back in the fall!

First off, my tattoo was left half done and the artist JEFF perfectly fine with letting me go and taking my money... what a douche. I'm not sure about the other artists but Jeff definitely took advantage of the fact that I hadn't gotten a tattoo before and because I wasn't sure AT ALL about things to consider for a tattoo, except what I had in mind for the concept. I would also NOT suggest getting small, simplistic, tattoos here unless your fine with wasting your time and being OVER charged. Besides Jeff being a greedy lil prick bastard he was a nice guy and can nail some dirty tattoos

I got a tattoo from Jay and my experience was amazing! The studio was very clean and modern and Jay was very welcoming and professional. I really appreciated how they walked me through each of the steps they took and how patient they were with me since this was my first tattoo. I would really recommend going to get a tattoo from Jay! They're work is amazing and I'm so happy with my tattoo!

Following them from their old Yonge location, this new location is a nice upgrade. It's a bit harder to spot with the smaller logo from the outside, but when you see the "we welcome walk-ins" sign next to subway, you know you're there. Upon entering, I was greeted by the receptionist who still remembers me from last summer (nice). I then waited for my artist (guest Robert Zyla) to show me his photoshop edits and he continued reworking them until I was satisfied. It was a bit longer than I would have liked (appointment at 1pm and the needle broke my skin at 3:20pm), but I am thoroughly satisfied with the end result. We had one 10 minute break and a shorter one a bit under 5 minutes. The resident artists were pretty cool; some came to check on Robert's progress, and the booth next to me was doing smaller tattoos and gave thorough aftercare instructions to their clients. This location, like the Markham one, is open concept, but there are curtains for privacy. Relative to the Markham location, Markham seems to have more room to move around. But this location had books! I didn't pick any of them up to read, but I liked the selection. There are two sofas where potential clients do consults with the receptionists. While I was waiting, I watched/heard two of them go down. The receptionists here are great. The studio was packed around 12:40pm when I arrived, and finally died down around 1:30pm. I am now waiting for my tattoo to heal. This was one of the better tattoo shop experiences I've had. Everyone was on task and friendly. I am definitely coming back. Thanks CIT Toronto!

Went to the downtown location and had Sara tattoo me, and she was amazing. Super talented, fast, and fun to talk to. Made my first tattoo experience a really good one, and she nailed my design.

    Didn't need laser

Run, don't walk away from this place. I have a tattoo on my shoulder I wanted embellished. I live a block away from these guys, so I thought I'd check them out. I walked up the inaccessible stairs into a huge busy room with lots of stations with people having tattoo's done. From behind the desk at the top of the stairs, the girl I talked to looked at my tattoo and immediately said it was too dark to do anything to, and it would have to be lasered. Convenienetly for them, this is a service they sell. I walked out confused, as I have seen lots of tattoo cover ups. I went to Black Line Studio at the shops at Don Mills. They said nothing about laser. Doug did a superb job in a nice quiet room. His banter was great and he kept me at ease. . I was talking to someone in a nearby vetrinary practice, and Chronic Ink also tried to sell her laser she didn't need. Fraud?

The piercing was $75, and it didn't hurt at all!

Kyle spoke matter-of-factly without making me feel silly for asking simple questions as a grown adult. i also really appreciate speaking to someone instead of just panicking while reading the FAQ page over and over!! fast forward to a month later, i made an appointment to get my lobes pierced! taylor was my piercer and they were absolutely wonderful to be in the care of. i told them exactly how nervous i was and they didn't sugarcoat that i'd definitely feel it -- it would hurt like a pinch hurts and i'd feel some heat, this is natural -- and they jokingly reassured me that if i hated the first piercing, i could stop at one (lol). it's been 8 weeks with my studs in and they've healed amazingly. taylor not only did an amazing job with the piercing, but they gave me really concise care tips and a business card with their info in case i needed to reach out about my piercings. i don't think i can sing high enough praises of the folks at new tribe! TL;DR: - spoke with kyle at the front of house and was pierced by taylor. both were absolute gems of human beings - overall very pleasant and calm experience as a nervous person - very knowledgeable and non-judgmental - thorough website w/ FAQs - would definitely come back if i ever wanted more piercings!! - studs are flat back - variety of studs to pick from for the piercing (some with price upgrades)

First the artist took out a spring green - almost neon - that looked nothing like the picture. I pointed this out and he got annoyed by went all over the shop finding a correct looking green - it seems the first one was only being used because it was the only green ink he had at his station. Shading was added that I never asked for and overall when the tattoo was 'done' I was incredibly unhappy with it - the lines were wonky, parts looked unfinished and the shading was too heavy. This was particularly upsetting as this was a memorial tattoo for my brother who passed away in October and the tattoo is on a highly visible part of my body. I tried to describe to the artist how I would want it fixed and he didn't seem to be willing to listen - keeping insisting he could fix it with more shading and white ink. He also pulled up his instagram to show me his other work when I said I didn't like it insisting 'he does great tattoos' and 'as fourteen years in the business' which came across incredible unprofessional and very not understanding g of me hating the current tattoo he was working on. I asked if there was another artist available to finish the tattoo as I was uncomfortable continuing with him and was told no. The tattoo is healing horribly, at only a week old it a faded scabby mess, as shown in the pictures below. I have reached out to the shop twice about this being fixed and have heard nothing back.

Lucky me, I got my friend to sketch the original design pour moi, and it looked almost identical to what I envisioned it to be like. Since then, I started doing my homework & researching different artists' and shops' styles available in Toronto. After coming across two other major Toronto parlours in realism tattoos, a friend recommended Black Widow to me. I decided to do a round of consultations with all three shops to make the final call. Black Widow, and specifically, my artist Jazz @tattoowool, REALLY stood out of the other two when it comes to the consultation process. Not only was she detailed & precise throughout the consultation (asking all the right questions, e.g., how the hand should look like, the orientation of the rose), but she sounded very caring and compassionate throughout the conversation. These were all the green flags I was looking for from an artist who would leave a permanent art piece on me until the day I die. The consultation was very reassuring and a lot more promising than the other two consultations I had; hence, I made up my mind to go with Black Widow & Jazz. After another call with the shop manager, Jackson, I e-transferred the shop deposit. Upon my arrival, all staffs working at the shop were amicable and welcoming, especially my artist, Jazz and Jackson. I felt relaxed and let Jazz do the magic while listening to a podcast. The whole process went smooth like butter, and the end product looks exactly like the way I've always wanted it. Due to how I wanted it larger than initially discussed on the phone, I booked a second appointment a month later to let Jazz finish the piece by adding more shading/colour. After both sessions, Jackson reached out to me via email to ensure that I was doing fine while reminding me of the aftercare. Thank you for all these follow-ups, I made sure that the tattoo received the proper care & I recovered well from it. I want to say thank you to Jazz & Jackson again for the amazing experience & the elegant piece of art on me forever. Without a doubt, I'll be back soon.
