We were looking forward to our appointment after reading all of these reviews but once he walked in the door, he quickly presented himself to be annoyed, arrogant and rude. Basically spat out 3 choices I had which was over the counter med, and MRI as a stab in the dark or a 2nd opinion. (This was within about 2-3 mins of him entering the room). Said he has absolutely no idea what's causing my child's pain and said he couldn't even get a scope through her nose bc she has SO MUCH SNOT (repeatedly) and seemed annoyed we were even there when she had symptoms of a cold (she had clear nasal passage when appt was make weeks prior but had a slight nose cold a week before which she was recovering from). Rushed out of the room just as abrasively as he entered. Wow. My child was left wondering why he was so rude and whether she did anything wrong. Waste of time and money. read more

Dr. Thompson saved me from a sinus infection that lasted more than 5 months. Anolther ENT did surgery and many rounds of antibiotics before I went to Dr. Thompon. Dr. Thompson did a culture on my first visit and discovered an antibiotic resistent MRSA. He then prescribed the correct antibiotic for a long enough course of treatment to cure me. read more

I was having difficulties breathing. My nose would often be congested and could only breathe through one side. Always turning over throughout the night to make my nose breathe better. Worked / still working with my allergist to address the allergies, dr Thompson recommend a septoplasy based on X-rays. It has been two weeks from the date of surgery and I am already breathing better than prior to surgery. Note I am still recovering with some scabs internally. I have been able to breathe through both nostrils which I haven't been able to in years and without decongestants/ nasal sprays. Dr. C.F.Thompson is the most incredible doctor I've ever met. He has helped me as best he can and even referred me for a second opinion after a great care experience. He also helped my wife when other docs dismissed her issues. Turns out the other docs were way off and Dr. Thompson came to the rescue. The difference is he really listens to the issues, he thoroughly investigates and critically diagnoses with time and expertise you could really only dream of or see in the movies. Today 4/25/2022 I went in for another follow-up visit with Dr. Christopher Thompson. Once again I had to have my nose cauterized. Because it was such a small area I opted not to have the lidocaine. Dr. Thompson is a phenomenal doctor! I dealt with recurring sinus infections for years. Prior to seeing Dr. Thompson, I saw two other ENTs and countless other PCPs. None of them were able to address my issues successfully. My condition worsened to the extent that I needed surgery. I booked a surgery with another ENT, but wasn't totally comfortable with them. I went to Dr. Thompson's office for a second opinion and booked the surgery with him within a half hour! He was very thorough in explaining what was going on, honest about the unknowns and difficulties that come with surgery, and patiently answered all of my questions. Not to mention all the staff members at the HNA are so kind and helpful (a special shout out to Winnie)! I ended up having two surgeries done by him (as do many patients with complicated cases). It's almost been a year since my first surgery and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. My breathing has improved immensely and I haven't had an infection since my second surgery. If you are having sinus issues, I highly recommend meeting Dr. Thomas to discuss them. Went to Dr Thompson after being involved in auto accident (pre-Covid). Told him about the accident, having difficulty breathing out of one side of my nose and still very sore. Doc then proceeds to jam one instrument after another into my nose, none too gently. Not fun! Then says nose is deviated and needs surgery, that he cannot perform, because it is a difficult surgery and if not done properly, nose could be permanently damaged. He wants to recommend another ENT Doc. Unbelievable! Would not recommend this guy to anyone, including a dog. read more

I have had ear issues as an adult for a long time so I've had several ENT physicians that I've dealt with. Upon moving to south OC I've searched for the perfect doctor and I've found him. Dr. Thompson has a great personality, excellent knowledge of current methodologies, and in spite of having no ear issues himself completely understands the suffering those of us with problems have. I am a "lifetime tuber" as he refers to me (lol) which means I have to keep ear tubes in or I suffer due to eustachean tube dysfunction. Dr. Thompson made the whole process of getting a nose surgery less daunting and easy. I have needed to fix my septum, turbinates, and sinuses for my entire life but put it on hold due to finances. From my first visit to being over two weeks post op has been nothing but a pleasure. He is kind, a terrific surgeon (I have had no side effects post op), and takes time to answer all questions and concerns you have. His assistant Winnie is really great too. The only reason I am not giving Dr. Thompson 5 stars is because I have had a couple of appointments post op where it has taken me 30 minutes past my appointment time to see him.
