Chris has been beyond helpful in my search for insurance when I was notified of non-renewal from Allstate due to wildfires. Chris spent a lot of time explaining things, obtaining quotes, and even looking into my autos for further discounts. When I finally decided to go with his policy, he very graciously informed me that I don't have to as California put out an amendment to the moratorium to stop insurance companies from non-renewing policies for a year! Well I got to say I love Farmers insurance. Now I haven't been paid out in total yet and I haven't found out if they're going to cancel me LOL, but I'm halfway through my claim with them and I have to tell you nobody's ever taken care of me this good, definitely not any of my ex-husbands LOL I signed up with Farmers with John on Big Bear boulevard here and he is a great guy and his wife super nice and I just bought my first house and it's gorgeous and then the back of the toilet exploded while I was out of town visiting my mother who was in hospice. So after like 12 hours of flooding or whatever finally someone calls me and tells me the person who is house-sitting, and I'm able to get the city to shut off the water. My whole first floor was destroyed and that was my recording studio and also my bedroom. So Farmers comes in and they give me this claim adjuster named Chris who's going to help me and Chris who put me and my son on a food allowance and he got me a hotel room back in Santa Barbara where my mother was so I could go back and be with her. My mother passed away the next day at noon. So Chris Put us in the best hotel they have up in Big Bear, the Holiday Inn Lodge. It has a pool, a Jacuzzi, a sauna,and a fantastic bar and restaurant. So they give me the best room in the hotel where I'm right next to the ice machine and the soda machine I'm right next to everything. And I have a food allowance to go into town and eat cuz I don't have a refrigerator cuz they shut off the water. Now they put me in this hotel till something like August 13th for over a month and I have to get up everyday and come back to my house because they're still doing work Service Master took out the whole first floor they had a team come up they took all my stuff and they boxed it up and put it in a big huge storage unit. They've dried out everything with dozens of ll massive heaters. And then they sent up this company, Team First to look at all the stuff that's been damaged to see if there was anything they could fix. And I swear the guy Jose has to be a therapist. He was so nice and understanding, and soothing, as he tried to break the bad news to me that a lot of my stuff was irreparably damaged. Any case I've never seen people so nice in my life. And now they're helping me rebuild my house and they're helping me replace everything that got damaged. I will give you updates as we go, but right now if I didn't have a house I'd go buy one just to get these guys as my insurance people. They're super wonderful. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!! They are thieves. When I decided not to go with them and told them to cancel my policy and not cash my check the day they received it. They told me verbally they wouldnt over the phone and I even have email proof of our conversation but they did and they now charged me $600 dollars of fees for cancelling. When I asked them to give me my declaration page in writing stating the charges and breaking it down. They couldnt. I will be filing a complaint with the Department of Insurance for their scandalous ways of doing business and I will be speaking with a lawyer to file a civil lawsuit against these people. They wanted $1400 for coverage on my cabin and charged me $600 for cancelling coverage. I found another insurance company that charged me 700 for the entire policy and it included some things this insurance didnt. Dont bother going thru Chris, hes very unprofessional over the phone and he doesnt care about his clients. Its $$$ in his pocket first. They should be ashamed of themselves for being a broker in big bear...people up there are very nice but these are the ugly ones that dont belong in the community. I dont know how they sleep at night. Utterly digusting. I have spoken to other clients of his that have the same issues! They raise the rates really high and charge a broker fee..no one else charges a broker fee...shows how greedy this company is. read more

The office is quick to take my payments each month but as soon as it requires real work they become very unprofessional. They give excuses and blame everyone else for why they can't renew home policies. I got a notice from my mortgage company that my policy wasn't renewed and Chris said he would take care of it, 3 weeks later he calls to tell me the policy is expired and I'll have to pay over the phone to reinstate. Where was the follow up during that time! I foolishly assumed he would follow through on his word and take care of it. He only had excuses and when confronted, changed the topic and turned it personal to where he will never come to where I work. Completely unprofessional! I called for a quote and spoke with John he was far too much of a salesman for my personality. I used to work for The General and other insurance carriers and am intimately familiar with coverages. I attempted to tell John what I wanted and he kept adding more and more even though I didn't want it. He kept telling me what I needed and it was only a few more dollars. When we got to homeowners he was worse. The quote they gave me was way more expensive and higher than any other quotes I had received. I sent and email to Mr. Thompson to tell him about his employee.
