From our very first appointment, he treated my mother with genuine kindness, respect, and empathy during one of the most difficult times in our family's life. He always took the time to explain every test result, treatment option, and next step in a way that was clear and reassuring. He never made us feel rushed and always answered our questions with patience and honesty. His expertise gave us confidence, and his calm, caring approach gave us hope. Throughout my mother's chemotherapy, Dr. Nasir closely monitored her progress and made sure she received the best possible care. We always felt that he truly cared about her as a person--not just as a patient. His attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to doing what's best for his patients are truly exceptional. We are incredibly grateful for everything Dr. Nasir and his team have done for our family. If you or a loved one is facing cancer, I cannot recommend Dr. Nasir highly enough. He is not only an outstanding oncologist but also a wonderful human being. Thank you, Dr. Nasir, for your compassion, dedication, and the exceptional care you provide every single day. You have made a lasting difference in our lives.

Dr. Nassir is in a class entirely his own. I have never met a doctor like him…read more My husband has faced more medical challenges than most people experience in a lifetime--cardiac arrest, heart transplant, dialysis, kidney transplant, strokes, prostate cancer, parasitic infection, diabetic wounds, spine, rib, and tibia fractures and surgery, amputations... and that's just the short list. We've grateful to have been blessed with excellent medical care over the years, but we have never encountered a physician like Dr. Nassir. We were referred to him after more than 20 medical visits in a single month. My immunosuppressed husband had developed an aggressive squamous cell carcinoma that went from a tiny pimple to a 5 cm x 4 cm x 2 cm thick blackened, mushroom‑like mass on his right temple, extending under the skin to a large lump at his parotid gland and into the lymph nodes in his neck. After consultations at three premier medical centers, we were left with little hope. We were preparing to go home and make the best of what we thought would be his final days. At a last visit with my husband's long‑time primary care doctor--someone we trust implicitly--he told us, "Not all the best doctors are at the premier medical centers," and said he knew the best oncologist in the area. He texted Dr. Nassir, explained the situation, and Dr. Nassir told us to come in at 9 AM THE NEXT MORNING. Not in two weeks. Not when convenient. The next day. At that first visit, Dr. Nassir spent TWO FULL HOURS with us. He carefully reviewed my husband's extensive medical history and every test and consultation from the previous month. While we sat in his office, he called multiple physicians--including two who had already seen my husband and two nationally recognized experts. Every one of them picked up the phone. His assistant, Jose, worked seamlessly beside him, taking notes, pulling records, and preparing referrals in real time. What would normally take weeks happened in a single visit. By the end of that visit, Dr. Nassir had a clear plan: urgent surgery, followed by concurrent radiation and chemotherapy. For the first time in weeks, we felt the fog lift. We left knowing exactly what needed to happen and who needed to be involved--including a radiation oncologist who has since been repeatedly confirmed to be the best in his field. Throughout that visit, staff members quietly stepped in with urgent issues from other patients. Each time, Dr. Nassir gave them his full attention, then returned to us without missing a beat. The new‑patient paperwork had warned that wait times could be long. After that day, I knew I would never complain. If I ever wait to see him, it's because he is giving someone else the same life‑saving attention he gave us. Since that February appointment, my husband has undergone successful surgery and is now nearing the end of a seven‑week treatment plan--five days a week of radiation at Cedars‑Sinai and two days a week at Dr. Nassir's nearby Cancer Care Institute (chemotherapy, IV fluids, labs, and nurse practitioner consultations). He is doing well, and we are hopeful he will beat this cancer. At the very least, we now have more time--time for his two young grandchildren to truly know and remember their grandpa. The entire staff has been exceptional. * Sona, the office manager, knows us personally and creates a supportive environment. * Rosanna and Nana, the chemo nurses, are skilled and attentive. * Mark and Madeleine, the nurse practitioners, ensure every concern is addressed and reviewed with Dr. Nassir. * The front office team is constantly busy yet always available and kind. I would not hesitate for a moment to refer any friend or family member facing cancer to Dr. Nassir. He and his team are in the business of saving lives, and they do it with expertise, urgency, and extraordinary humanity.

Therefore, I can speak to the actual consultation, surgery and follow-up care. All the consultations, pre-op imaging, and labs were thorough and timely. He discussed options, the actual surgery, and possible complications weeks before I entered the OR for the actual procedure. I had questions about intra-operative monitoring of PTH levels. and anything that could go "sideways." He discussed each in detail so I would be clear going in. One year later, the scar has healed perfectly, my calcium levels are back to normal and I feel good. In the interim, I've had follow-ups and labs as required. In doing my own research, I found that parathryoidectomies have the best outcomes when performed by a surgeon who has extensive experience in that particular surgical niche. Dr. Cohen is that surgeon. In sum, I trusted Dr. Cohen and his team to take care of me and they delivered. Thanks Dr. Cohen and Team.

I've never been to a chemo facility before. You expect something sterile or clinical, but City of Hope South Pasadena is different. It's human. It's kind. The people here don't just clock in -- they show up. From the front desk to the nurses to the volunteers offering water and candy, everyone treated my friend with dignity and genuine care. We were there about four hours, and in that time, I saw more quiet heroism than most people see in a lifetime. Nurses moving with precision and grace, comforting patients like family. No chaos, no coldness -- just empathy and skill in perfect balance. They even offered me water and candy while I waited -- a small gesture, but it meant the world. It reminded me that while medicine keeps people alive, kindness makes it bearable. Life is short. I also thought it would be good to have an "in" just in case. Unfortunately, my experience didn't go well. To be honest, I have a fear of going to doctors and avoid it as much as possible. I arrived early for my appointment as instructed. The staff at the front desk were courteous and professional. About 10 minutes before my scheduled time a nurse escorted me to the room and took my vitals. When she was done, she said the doctor would be in shortly. 35 minutes later - no doctor. The room was cold, my fingers were numb, and I had to get back to work so I walked over to the front desk and told them I was leaving. The next day I received a call asking me if I wanted to reschedule. I said no because I was afraid the doctor would be a no show again and I would find another doctor. Later that day I received another call asking me the same thing, and I gave the same answer. This time the scheduler told me there were two other doctors in the network at the same location and she could book me an appointment with one of them. Unfortunately, the soonest appointment isn't until the end of July but she said she would also put me on the wait list. I appreciate that she went the extra mile to help me. Hopefully, I'll have better luck on my next visit. *Private parking lot.

I had a hematologist before that was just reacting to what was happening with my health, which caused a lot of instability and chaos for me. It also gave me a lot of anxiety about my health and shook my trust in doctors. Dr. Eshaghian clearly read through my entire health history and chart before my visit instead of me having to try and give my entire medical history in the appointment. He came in fully up to date, which was a first for me in medicine. He also developed a plan based on data, not reactions, so he made sure to do a few more tests and then repeated them if my situation or symptoms changed to see what was causing any kind of variation. He was able to get me on the right doses of my medicines by doing this and my life and health have been much more stable. He also gave good referrals to other doctors and now I have a healthy team of doctors that understand my health issues. But most of all he is compassionate and kind. He doesn't just give his opinion and move to the next patient, he really treats the whole human experience and has helped me a lot on the journey to getting back to living my life and feeling safe on my current treatment plan without anxiety. I also see the comment that the front desk lady is rude. She is actually super nice and is very quick to get things like prescriptions or orders. Very happy to be a patient here!
