I visited for the art festival and bands. Not an amazing park in itself but it is close to tourist spots if you want a little break by the harbor. It serves mainly a port for ferries. A signature feature is the pergola walkway.

This is the first time here in 13 years. Lots change in that period of time. Appears the same hotel is in the same location. More retail shops and places to eat have popped up all over. Appears more transit is available all over. Great place to relax and view the water.

Located more or less between Faneuil Hall, the North End, and The Aquarium, lies Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park. It's a lovely green oasis with a pretty view of Boston Harbor and all of it's boats, docks and all things nautical.. You'll see people lounging, picnicking and just enjoying the great outdoors. There were street musicians performing on the paved walkways. In the center of the park is a twelve foot tall monument to the park's namesake. The statue of Christopher Columbus is made out of white Carrara marble, and a plaque reminds us that the marble (mined in Carrara, Italy), "is the same marble from which comes Michelangelo's "Pieta," "Moses," and "David." Now that's a pedigree. Columbus is looking quite dapper -he has his arms crossed, he has a sword dangling from his belt, and he's holding a book in his left hand. This statue was dedicated on October 21, 1979 by the Friends of Christopher Columbus Committee.

I feel like this place has upgraded a lot and it's really lush and pretty. Our last day in MA, we came here to picnic, hang out with the family and get some food truck eats and hang out here. My kids ended up asking to stay even longer. It's so close to the North End that you can get some cannolis from Mike's Pastry and bring it over here to watch the boats go by and enjoy the view.

It's right there in the name. Waterfront. And Park. This large green space is between famous Faneuil Hall and Boston Harbor, just at the southern end of the also famous North End. Complete with playgrounds, a restroom building, a covered walkway and a lot of walks along the water, it is perfect.

Love walking through here to cut over to Richmond Street in the way to the North End. Always clean and bustling with people. Huge picture spot. Lots of people bring their dogs.

Right in the Harborside of Boston!! Great place to walk around, take pictures! It's a beautiful site to see boats and old ships. There are great local restaurants that offer plenty of seafood options. The aquarium is on the same side of the harbor, you can also observe seals hanging outside and getting fed by the aquarium! We decided to join a tour bus, Old trolley, you cannot miss it. I suggest this if you want to get around Boston and learn great fact about the city! Also is walking distant to North End where you can find great local Italian restaurants and seafood restaurants. Across the street from Quincy market, and Faneuill hall where you can eat shop and start following the freedom trail.

This park is really well-maintained and so beautiful, even on a cloudy day. All the trees were flowering with bright pink flowers and the gazebo tunnel was decorated with tiny little lights. This is a great place to take pictures and walk around when you have some free time. Next time, I'll remember to bring a better camera. The only thing I don't like about this is the name. Christopher Columbus Park? Really? I'm so glad we're honoring the man who "discovered" America. Cause, you know, nobody lived here before he discovered it or anything.

Come here in between eating a million meals at North End. It's a really nice park just outside of that area where you can relax along the water. It's worth a short detour while you're exploring all the things in the North End area. The highlight of the area is the trellis, basically a long corridor with some planting along its arches. It looks great any time of day but it is best to come here at night when it lights up with all the skyscraper lights in its backdrop. If you wander off along the water you'll see plenty of boats in the harbor, some old buildings on the outskirts of North End, and in the distance are the buildings of downtown Boston. You can get a lot of great views from just one place.

People watching, flowers, plenty of seating... Just the place to enjoy a coffee, cannoli and good conversation. I like to go here to pet other people's dogs or just relax from the daily grind. Go, you won't be sorry. read more

Wow...wish we had a park like that over here. Not only is it by the water, but it is close to everything. The pier/wharf, North, F. Hall, lots of places to eat and walk around. I was here when it was warm and sunny. Did I mention they have WiFi even?! I guess you can work here too. I'll do lunch here next time. read more

Covered arbor, dog run and ample playground nestled on the waterfront between/adjacent to the harbor front and North End. Great way to turn a boring Sunday afternoon into a day: - Go see the seals outside the seals outside the Aquarium. - Take a stroll through Chris Columbus park, sit on a blanket, watch the boats, relax in the sun, etc. (if you are with a dog and kiddos let them frolic) - Grab lunch at Fanueil Hall, people watch etc. Soak up the touristy goodness - Stroll to the North End for coffee and gelato/pastry 3 hours killed, and a whole lot of Boston (albeit the corny forced bits) imbibed In summary, just a great little park in a great little spot. read more

A nice little island of green in a very developed area. The park's fixtures are impressive, and it was notably clean. You couldn't ask for a better place to enjoy the breeze drifting in off the harbor (ha-buh?). In addition, it does offer useful facilities; there is a playground and the water fountain next door was one of the few I found in the area. read more

A small, but picturesque park a few acres in size, this is home to many festivals, meetups, protests, film nights and is just a good way to kill a lunch break. It's within a 5 minute walk from Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market and The New England Aquarium, it's always going to be busy on nice days so head somewhere else if you're looking for a quiet spot, but you could spend a couple hours here taking pictures of the trellis and water if you wanted to, with plenty of popular nearby destinations to visit as well. read more

What a wonderful little park! It's lovely and in a great setting, along the waterfront and near Quincy Market. There's a beautiful rose garden and a trellis area, plus some great green space for the city area. A good place to stroll and relax. read more

This park was such a highlight on my Boston vacation. It was right outside our hotel, and before we left for the airport, I sat out along the water for a little while, soaking in the sights and smells of Boston. It's peaceful, beautiful, and conveniently located to other attractions without letting the tourist vibe infiltrate this serene space. read more

Nice all season park. In spring, the arbor is covered with purple wisteria flowers, in the summer leaves and vines create a nice shady walk, in the fall the leaves turn, and in the winter, it is cover in blue lights. Additionally, there is a small rose garden (the Rose Kennedy Rose Garden), a gated play area (helpful for keeping little ones from running off), grassy areas, and benches including some that are right on the edge by the water where you can watch the gulls and boats. There is a water play area for kids where they can push buttons and send water up in the air. (Late spring, summer only.) Look for the round concrete area. I saw a review that said there was a dog run. There is no dog run but people do let their dogs run off lease. The owners pay attention to their animals and I've never seen any problems. It's a pleasant spot for a picnic or to read a book. There is WIFI available at the park. read more

I am not responsible enough to have a dog of my own, so I am the creepy girl standing on the outskirts of the unofficial doggy park side of the park hoping that someone's dog will come over to say hi and I can pat it. It usually works. The dogs love me, sometimes the owners aren't super weirded out and give me the scoop on the dogs, like their names. read more

My favorite place in the area to have lunch. Super relaxing to walk through or sit and chill out. There are lots of benches to sit and eat your lunch, people watch, or listen to the harbor at. I was acting in my friend's short short (movie.. whatwereyouthinking) when I first walked by this place. blah blah romantical blah. Why is everyone's review about hooking up? Okay.. so the sunset is ridiculous and so captivating that you can't help but think that it's a love letter from the heavens. But c'mon, you're too busy and too much of a commitment-phobe to entertain a relationship with a deity. And so what if in the winter the clammiest hands seem endearing and the coldest of hearts melt when you're standing on the grounds. Let's not even talk about spring. Forgettaboutit. Oh fudge. I live in the North End and truly love this park. There are fireworks here on holidays but it is fun on non-holidays as well. I occasionally go here on my lunch breaks just to relax. I had a picnic with friends here today actually and it was SO much fun. What an underused park. It is close enough to Faneuil Hall that it makes you wonder why tourists don't come here to eat their overpriced lunch. I am not going to advertise it though! read more

Boston's most romantic park is beautiful any time of year. This little spot by the water is much more intimate than the nearby Esplanade and Boston Common. Kids playing by the fountain. Bees buzzing around the flowers. Holding hands with that special someone. read more

Sorry, your search for "cool dogs" in Boston returned no results. Ugh. Guess I'll settle for the next best thing: this park - which is chock full of COOL DOGS. Big dogs, little dogs, medium dogs, puppies, oldies, skinny, fat, shaggy, all kinds of cool dogs! Woah... deep breath. Just had to get that out of my system. Alright. This park has got it all. Green grass for sitting. Tall trees for shading. Waterfront for viewing. Harbor breeze for smelling! Bird sounds for listenin'! What a great renewal project the city undertook when they did this park! You can relax on a warm day and watch the boats before heading into the North End for some pastry or an Italian dinner. They have live music in the summer too. read more

Great little park right on the waterfront, very well maintained year round and one of the nicest spots on the Boston Harbor Walk. Beautiful harbor views, ample grassy areas for lounging and a fun spray fountain for kids to play in. They also have free concerts and outdoor movies here during the summer. read more

This is a great spot to hang for a while on a nice day. Located near tons of things to do and steps to the north end for great food. There are several bars near by for a few beverages and lots to see and do. Check it out and all the near street performers, t shirt and knick knack stands. read more

It's when I look at pictures like the ones of the waterfront that I REALLY start to miss Boston. Yeah, most of the time the weather is so inhumane you can barely stand to walk by this area, but really the view is so gorgeous and the surrounding area is so well maintained, it is one of the prettiest spots on Boston. For a great date with a friend or lover, hike up to North End, grab a cannoli from Mike's or Modern's, have it wrapped to go and share with your loved one here on one of the many benches facing the ocean. read more

Right by the water, lots of grass and tons of cuteypie puppies! Who could ask for more? Ok, it lacks a bit of the charm of PO Square nearby, but the nice sea breeze makes up for it somewhat. There's also some funky/comfy lounge chairs around...if you can find an open one. And a playground...joy to my inner 5-year old! read more

We went on a Saturday morning, locals were walking, jogging, sitting on a bench drinking their coffee. Teams were out in the water roving, a nice visual Boston cliche that you see in movies, but I got to see for real. You can walk for miles here, till you get to the BU Bridge in parallel with the beautiful houses of Beacon Hill. Nice nature, cute bridges, birds, peaceful spots to stop by and look at the water, enjoy a book or a coffee. Nice locals offered to take our photos and we enjoyed chatted with. Beautiful sculptures, clean restrooms, lots of greenery. Great spot for a picnic also. I am sure it's pretty here at sunset. I am sure they have events here as well. My husband regrets not knowing about it. He went to Boston University and walked the BU Beach and the Bridge, but wasn't aware of this part. He would have loved to come here for peaceful walks and some reading. We didn't want to leave. A must see place in Boston!

That's a good thing too because there is so much space and so much to see here that it can definitely take more than one visit to appreciate its beauty and all that it has to offer. It's known as the oldest public park in the United States and I personally love the way that it's laid out. I wish they still made parks like this. There are wide open lawns with winding paths, people sitting on benches or enjoying picnics on the grass with their dogs. I have seen large events here and even performers as well as family barbecues and groups of people just gathering to spend time together outside. It's nice to just be in this beautiful green space surrounded by the city skyline and historic buildings. I can really sit here and appreciate that I'm in an important City but also feel like I have this little bubble of an oasis surrounding me and keeping everything calm. It's just a nice place to exist and enjoy nature for a bit and it also connects to the Boston public garden which is another gorgeous space for just enjoying nature. It's unfortunate that I have never been able to stop here when I have had my dog with me on a trip through the city because I know she would love visiting this park. Who wouldn't?

Boston Commons is a normal urban park in some ways with a playground for kids, a pond, park benches, a carousel, baseball stadium, and food vendors. It's also part historic park with monuments including one of the 54th Civil War all black regiment, a plaque saying this is the oldest park in America and others. It's also a part of the Freedom Trail. There's also a small cemetery in the park. The park is both busy and relaxing. It's smaller than I expected but that may just be because it felt like I went through it quickly. Time flies when you are having fun so maybe distance does too. Boston Commons is a must stop on any trip to Boston.

There were tons of high school and college student taking graduation pics here which makes a ton of sense. There were duck boats to ride around the pond, but it looked like 10-15 people were on the boats and you can't exactly go far. This place doesn't need words. It needs pictures or better yet the human eye. So, grab a picnic basket, enjoy a nice lunch, take a walk around the park but be aware of the thieving squirrels. 2022 season review…read more 7am - 5pm, May - October. With bloom potential 3 seasons of the year, we spied only a handful or so mid May, and more on subsequent visits. Arches blossomed in turn, as the entire garden was never in full regalia all at once. We weren't the most observant and it wasn't till late June that we realized the lady statue was missing her hands. This isn't a large garden by any means. But it is a nice oasis in the city.

Be careful when putting the address into your navigation, especially Waze users, as it took us to the totally wrong location at first. Once you arrive, however, parking is pretty straightforward. It costs $10/car. The staff at the hut where you pay for parking was super helpful in letting us know what route would best suit our time constraints. We were even given a map! The trails were pretty clear, some maybe weren't as clearly defined as they could've been. Note for hikers: this does feel like more a stroll in the park as opposed to a true hike. Some hidden paths did feel like one, however, so don't be afraid to venture off what seems to be the most defined routes. We loved the views of the Boston skyline, harbour, and Hull, MA. This place is definitely worth a visit. I'm looking forward to coming back in autumn to see some good foliage!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park and I have to say, it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the stunning views of the water and the charming atmosphere of the park. The park itself was immaculately maintained, with lush green spaces and beautiful gardens. I particularly enjoyed taking a stroll along the waterfront and watching the boats sail by. There were plenty of activities to enjoy, too - from picnicking on the grassy lawn to playing a game of bocce with friends. The playground area was well-equipped and provided a safe and fun space for children to play. But what really stood out to me was the friendly and welcoming community at the park. I had the opportunity to chat with some of the locals, who were more than happy to share their knowledge of the area and recommend some great spots to check out. I would highly recommend a visit to Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park to anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque escape in the heart of Boston. Beautiful, clean park that hugs the harbor. It has lots of green grass area for sitting and picnicking. Tons of huge fixtures for great photo opps. It is in walking distance of the aquarium, financial district, convention center and the seaport. If you enjoy tour guides hop on the nearby tour bus or water taxi. There are a handful of pricey restaurants nearby if you get hungry. There are also some food trucks in the financial district on Atlantic. My only con and worth losing is a star is there's no street parking unless you are a resident of the neighborhood. You will easily spend $20 for a few hours at a parking lot. read more

We visited the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park located on the waterfront near the Aquarium this past Sunday. And we really liked it! This is a very nice park - very clean and well kept - no trash, the grassy lawn areas are lush and well taken care of. And it's a great place to stroll, sit and watch the boats, have a bite to eat, or get a drink. And in case you want to spent a quiet evening with your sweetheart, this is also the right place - it offers a serene view of Boston Harbour. And it's a good place to walk after a meal or to walk with your pet. A kind of place for everybody. Recommend it! read more

Beautiful oasis in the middle of the city. The RKennedy Rose Garden is spectacular. Just a hop, skip and a jump to the beautiful waterfront. Free movies nearby in the summer that are family friendly. Really nice renovation of this area. Worth a visit if you're in the area. Tias is a nice place to stop in for dinner. You might even run into a local sports star. read more

Gateway to the N. End, this park is a welcome relief on hot days with little kids. The water feature totally enthralls but I wish that some of the other visitors with pets would respect the large "NO PETS PERMITTED" sign outside the water feature. It is pretty gross after the dogs have been in there. read more
