This was my first time here. I wish it was for a routine visit but no. I remember when they…read morebuilt this as Bloomingdales... I was in High School then. (Boy, do I feel old.) I watched it morph into Sears, now NYU Langone. I was a little concerned about the parking (based on what I had heard.) It was a snap and there was plenty of parking available. You walk into a very bright and clean facility with people here to help and guide you no matter where you are. The halls are also big, bright and wide with plenty of signage. My wife had filled out most of the paperwork ahead of time but there was still a small amount of information needed. The folks at the front desk were so friendly and easy to work with. I was very pleased with the quality of care here. You can also see that from all the people walking in and out. After a short wait my wife was called in to one of the exam rooms where we waited for the doctor. The visit went as good as it could be and everyone was extremely through and helpful. I am sure that we will be returning more frequently and I am comfortable coming here. KUDOs to the team at NYU Langone Ambulatory Care - Garden City

Holy Cow! I went to Sears for my doctor appointment! I get a yearly physical. I hope you do too…read more This year, I received a message that my appointment was changed to Franklin Ave in Garden City. When I got there, I immediately recognized it as Sears. Wow. Who knew. One of the few retailers with a huge building and enormous covered parking outside of Roosevelt Field Mall. I remember buying tools and household items here. Now I am having blood work done. The renovation was well done. Same big parking lot. The amole parking is really a gem because parking can get tough in Garden City. The building is bright and clean. The sign in areas are large open spaces in the main hallways. You are called in to see your doctor. Everything looks modern. The halls are wide and spacious. Nothing feels cramped. I was only there for my yearly, so I do not know what other services they have. I was told that they can take care of a lot in building. My doctor is always kind and knowledgeable. Never pushy, even though I am resist to taking pills and medication. I try into keep a healthy lifestyle to prevent disease rather that seek treatment once getting it. I didn't see any wrenches or vacuums for sale.

You can't get through to a live person after waiting on hold for 5 to 10 minutes, even if you're calling from another physicians office. They never return your phone calls and now the only way you can actually get a return phone call is if you book an appointment online. Other than that, you'll never hear from anyone. Over the years the service was never this bad and they recently closed the Garden City location for renovation purposes. I live in Long Island and now have travel to Queens (20+ away by car), is a headache. Plus there's no parking because it's a residential area and other surrounding businesses. I took a chance and parked on the sidewalk because I have handicap plates. smh..

DO NOT GO HERE. I don't know how I ended up at this practice but I curse the day I first set foot…read morein their office. This review could go on forever because of the amount of issues I've had with them but I'll try to keep it short. The ONLY ok thing about this place is Dr. Walker (only had limited interactions with her though and the fact that she allows her practice/work place to operate like this makes me think that she doesn't care either). 1. Dr. Reed is a hot mess, condescending and full of herself - why though? What makes you superior to other humans? I'd love to know. The new posters of her book plastered all over the Garden City office are laughable - "mentally fit, physically strong"... I do not think you can call yourself mentally fit after berating a patient on some weight gain after pregnancy. I don't want to get into the details but Reed should be ashamed of herself. Horrible bedside manner! She made me very upset and I had to actually ask her to stop being condescending towards me and that I would not be spoken to like that. The last time I saw her in passing at the office she was in a tracksuit... Super profesh!!! 2. The concept of referrals is lost on this practice. I've been billed twice because of their inability to send a timely referral and had to chase them up for WEEKS to finally get them to pay my bill because it was their mistake! Joke. 3. No one ever picks up the phone, voicemails are returned 2-3 days later even in regards to urgent issues. 4. Not clean. Not extremely dirty but I've had 2 experiences with urine samples left in the exam room (and the bathroom) I was placed in and they were only removed after I brought it up. WHAT. THE. EFF. 5. Lack of communication. I needed a medical clearance form, was told they could get it to me in 4-5 days. When I called to see if it was ready, I'm told quite rudely that there is a 2 week policy, how could I be so silly to assume it could be ready in 4-5 days? Ok so why did your receptionist tell me he would have it ready for me and never mention a 2 week policy for forms!? The topper was that they didn't draw enough blood from me to perform all my tests and neglected to tell me this until I called AGAIN (waited for ages on the line for someone to answer) and told me to come in again so they could stab my arm with another needle. I hate them. Can you tell? Related: the nurse jabbed me twice in my arm, no blood and I was like you should try my hand it's usually better and she sighed, rolled her eyes and said "I wish you would have told me that before".... WTF!? You're stabbing me, not the other way around oh plus you are a medical professional so check my veins properly!! (Side note: she took my blood last year and I told her to take it from my hand first but she refused and did my arm first with no luck and then withdrew blood from my hand. So I know she has a history of not listening which is why I didn't bother this time, plus I was just so over it). 6. Booked my husband in at 8:30 with April bc he had to get to work and all he needed was a referral. I was told he would be seen immediately bc that was her first appt of the day. How long did he wait before April saw him? 2 HOURS. And the referral took 10 minutes. Just think about that for a second... There are so many other small things that I don't have the energy to type but it's really disappointing to see a doctors office operating like this. Their doctors and staff are rude, incompetent and just plain dumb sometimes. Fix up. After reading the other horrible reviews for them, I actually feel better knowing I'm not alone in feeling the way I do because at one point I genuinely thought I was crazy. I thought maybe I'm too picky and have incredibly high standards. Nope. Turns out they suck. I actually asked Juanita once about why they never pick up the phone and has anyone else complained and she just kinda shrugged and said "nope no one else has complained, we only have 1 line." OK DEN I will be sharing my review on other platforms as well as sending an official complaint letter. I hope someone from MS family reads my review and decides to better their practice for the sake of their patients. Ok so I obviously failed at keeping this review short and sweet. Soz. But I had to share. I'm disappointed in myself for going to this practice for 1.5 years but I am almost free of them and will not be returning or communicating with them again (unless I get billed from my endo for a referral that MS family didn't send... again!) If I could give them 0 stars, I would have. Or better yet, -10. DO NOT GO HERE

Thus, I am personally pleased that there still exist physicians who are compassionate and interact with a patient's best interests at heart. One such physician is Dr. Rupal Shah. Dr. Shah took care of my mother until her death at the age of 99 years. Dr. Shah made home visits, was open and frank in her discussions with family, discussed expectations, special treatments and comfort measures. She went out of her way to keep me, an out of town family member, in the loop. Dr. Shah was calm and warm. She was medically up to date but kept her treatment plan simple. When my mother first entered Dr. Shah's care, she reviewed and simplified Mom's medications. She was always available, and when appropriate, suggested hospitalization. Dr. Shah's outstanding home patient management resulted in only 2 hospitalizations over the years. This woman is the kind of physician I would want to care for me and my family if I were in New York. Thank you, Dr. Shah.

I have been mostly…read moresatisfied- the office is pretty accommodating and helpful- whenever I've needed a prescription or a referral, they are relatively diligent with helping and I've always been able to be seen at my convenience. They also have telehealth, which I appreciate and have utilized. The problem is their new location. The parking lot is really tiny and every time I've been there I have not been able to get a spot. This means I have to park along a very busy merrick rd, literally risking my life crossing the four lane road just to get there. I don't want to have to change providers, but the parking situation is really precarious and I don't see a solution. Also something that occurred at their new location that I didn't experience at their former office: the nurse sat four or five patients all in the same room and proceeded to take blood from us one at a time with all of the patients present- watching. Isn't that a little bizarre? Who wants to have blood drawn in front of other patients? Maybe it is just me, but that made me a little uneasy. I hope they have done away with that practice.
