It's out of business!! This place is permanently closed. I don't know why they still have it up on yelp as if it's not going out of business, but it went out of business like a long time ago and they still have not taken down any signs. It says it's open, but it's not open. read more

Christmas Town - Closed - Gift Shops Near Me - Mobile, Alabama

In 1976 two guys opened a florist and gift shop. As their gifts, both vintage and new expanded, they moved to a larger store front, then to another larger store front, and now they have all sorts of gifts and decor, mainly Christmas, but also a small Halloween section, a collectibles section and a toy section. I even spotted a small Easter decor section. I did notice some pride holiday decor and some ornaments that were same sex couples, though none of color. They did have some representation of different colors. They even had Bernie in his now famous seated position wrapped in Christmas lights. And they had some of my gnome friends on display and for sale. So many variations of nativity scenes, snowy city displays, and just oh my goodness so very much. If you are ever in the area, I would suggest stopping by. Friendly employees, lots and lots of inventory. If you can not make it, just look at their social medias and their website. Freaking amazing. Some items are a bit expensive in my opinion, but I think that most are reasonably priced. read more

What a wild and wonderful place! So excited to come visit this location as I was seeing their roadside billboards and wondered where is this magical Christmas village?! Stopped by while visiting the area to explore this holiday wonderland. When you walk in you will be awestruck by the amount of holiday decorations that are larger than life. Make sure you give yourself enough time to explore. There were several rooms off of the large main entrance area. There was a location where they sell fudge and had a candy/food themed Christmas tree. There was the front area where they had a woodland fairy riding on a giant deer that look like a magical forest. There were nautical themed areas, Alabama themed areas, and traditional Christmas themed areas. They also had Christian items for Christmas mass-some items that I've never seen before. Really interesting locally owned business that has been in the area for 40 years now. Was able to talk to the owner on my way out of the store and was very impressed by how kind and enthusiastic they were about their family owned business. Really likable place and I would suggest coming here if you're in the area. A beautiful place to take a stop and pick up some holiday mementos. read more

Super fun stop when traveling thru town! We come from Florida and add something to our collections each time! Love shopping "local"!

I LOVE Christmas! The only way I can begin to explain my excitement about Christmas is to say think of Will Ferrell's character in Elf. That's me, except I don't eat syrup on spaghetti, or drink coffee, or sing, but I digress. I do collect Christmas ornaments and Dept 56 villages and I start burning Christmas fragrance candles in November. Last year's tree was over 6 feet wide and it was so heavy with ornaments we had to tie it off at the trunk and anchor it to the wall in two places. Does that help you to understand the utter obsession? Naturally, I'm infatuated with this store! They have the largest selection of Christmas ornaments I've ever seen, and it's everything from expensive, intricate ornaments to tacky, gaudy ornaments. They have Christoper Radko and Kurt Adler and Margaritaville ornaments, as well as ornaments for every hobby or interest you could possibly have. Of course they have some for baby's first Christmas, and couple's first Christmas, and one for a newly divorced person. Now you know exactly what to get your sister after she ditches that brother-in-law you never could stand in the first place. We bought a really unique jelly fish ornament, a Callaghan's Irish Social Club ornament that benefited the Goodwill Easterseals, and Christmas fragrance wax melts made by a local candle company. This store probably has the largest selection of Dept 56 villages I've ever seen. I collect the Dickens Village and I've been debating incorporating the Christmas in the City Village in with it. They carry both, and after examining the sizes, I'm convinced I could totally pull it off. I'm going for a village collection that's reminiscent of Mobile. In addition to those and the Snow Village and New England Village, which also has fall accessories, they also carry the Dept 56 Margaritaville Village, Jack Daniels Lynchburg Village, Downton Abbey Village, and villages from the movies Elf, A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation, complete with Cousin Eddie's RV. Eeeek!!! They have a layaway that starts in January and runs through the first part of December, so if you want several pieces and don't want to fork out all the dough at once, you could put them on layaway and pay them off over the course of 11 months. They also sell a lot of collectibles like old school Mickey Mouse ceramics and old toys. It's a bit nostalgic to just walk through and see all the things that you loved as a child. It feels like walking through a museum of your childhood or taking a pleasant little stroll down memory lane. I don't know why I waited so long to go to this shop, but I can see it becoming a monthly occurrence for me. I'm already planning my next visit! read more

I've been shopping there for over 20 years. The selection of everything Christmas is great. But they are not limited to Christmas. They carry a nice selection of collectables as well as religious items. The people are nice and helpful without being obtrusive. One of my favorite moments was when the checkout was very busy and the phone was constantly ringing. The owner, who is usually in the store, told the people behind the counter to take care of the customers in the store and let the phone go. I'd love to see this policy in other establishments. read more
