So I stopped by this place since I was in the city for business. My friend wasn't able to go home for Mardi Gras due to conflict, so I thought I would bring Mardi gras to her. This place was amazing and they had so many items! It was already packed out and people had basket full of throw items, beads, etc. I heard many conversations of people getting ready, the parades, and kids getting excited. It can be overwhelming if you don't know what you are getting so plan ahead. This is literally your one stop shop for all your Mardi Gras needs. The staff was friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable and whatever you thought about what beads you want it's there. My friends that are from Mobile always talked about the moon pies, I never seen so many different flavors lol. People were buying cases of it. There was a food truck outside so after all that shopping, definitely get a bite to eat. read more

Go! Just go! I've never been to a place like Toomey's before and now I'm convinced that everyone must see it. It's a huge building full of Mardi Gras beads and throws. Some things are sold individually and some in bags of 5 or 10. I was in search of a rubber chicken and I found three to choose from. Where else has a selection of three different rubber chickens to choose from??? In addition to everything you could possibly want or need for Mardi Gras, they have a pretty good selection of party supplies, especially if it's a sports party or child's birthday party. Their prices are much more reasonable than chain party supply stores too. Even if you don't need party supplies or Mardi Gras throws, check this place out. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!! They have EVERYTHING you would ever need. The quality of stuff they have is WAAAAYYYY beyond what you would expect. I dealt with Daryl-Anne who was very patient with all of my expectations. I know they are very busy so you kind of have to keep in contact with them. The pictures of the masks do not do justice for the actual product you get. The prices are the best you are going to find on any website or store, trust me I have checked them ALL. I cannot wait until my wedding to post pictures of the items I bought. I bought 98% of my decorations from Toomey's. ***Unfortunately do to some stupid proposition, they are unable to ship beads to California*** Thanks to goodness my dad is a truck driver and was able to pick them up for me and bring them to me. Honestly, Toomey's is a bit like falling into Neverland. When you walk into the doors, you're immediately greeted with the vibrant celebrations that is at the heart of Mobile and Carnival season. Toomey's is a massive warehouse of fun, they have everything you may need to celebrate whatever the occasion it may be. Just when you think you've seen it all, you walk to the bead room or the wreath room. What brought me to this fine establishment was looking at what throws they have for a Mardi Gras parade but honestly it ended up being a much more lucrative than that. So they have a room to the left that has, decorations after decorations for your home. Mardi Gras wreaths, garland, statues, plates, masks, boas, jesters, and even some clothing. They also have some tailgate necessities for which ever Alabama collegiate team you happen to support. The main room you walk into has various numbers of throws and party favors, everything from rubber chickens, to spike balls, to various specialized beads, and other fun items. To the back right section is a warehouse of more generic beads sold by the case, bag or individual sizes, the more you buy the cheaper they are! Also, in that same room, they have cases upon cases of Moon Pies. This brings me to the ultimate surprise of the day, the prices! The Moon Pies are even cheaper then ordering them directly from the Moon Pie warehouse, only 20 dollars a case. We had stopped at a different location for decorations and bought garland for our stair case, turns out they had an almost identical garland for 35 percent of the price. The beads are super affordable, the only thing I thought was crazy on the price was the cases of stuffed animals. Then they carried out my purchases and loaded them in my car without expecting a tip. All in all, even if you don't need throws, whether you want Moon Pies for yourself by the box, or you need gag gifts, or party favors for your next celebration or tailgate, fall down the rabbit hole, check out Neverland. Toomey's is super cool and even if you just want a pulse for the celebratory nature of Mobile, check it out its a fun place to spend a half hour and who knows, you may find something you "need". read more

Toomey's Mardi Gras is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I love their selection of mardi gras masks and mardi gras beads. While I was their they let me try one of the moonpies and I ended up buying a whole box of them!! Since they sell them in bulk we get them for snacks in the kids lunch boxes. Also they have some of the friendliest staff ever. I have shopped with them online and in store, both times I was able to get my parade throws and have a happy experience!!
