Unfortunately, I missed out on their blackberry season that happened in May. In addition to the blueberries that were available for picking, peaches were sold in bushels placed on a table in their "store". Sometimes the owners are there to receive the money, and other times they run a honor system. Pencils were provided to write on the envelope to place it into the wooden box. The prices and size were posted on a sign the minute you walk inside. They were very reasonable, and fair compared to other farms. It was a hot sunny day, so the hubs picked quickly, since he tends to get sunburned and cranky lol. I'm the opposite, so I picked to my hearts content:) The blueberries were fresh and smaller than I'm used to. It tasted sweet and a little tart. The best part of it all, was that it was organic! Nowadays everything is sprayed, but this farm doesn't do that:) We revisited a few more times for picking. I knew the season was coming to a close, and needed some more to freeze. I made some cakes, and muffins out of the blueberries which lasted a few days. I sort of wished, I picked a large bucketful, cause as I'm writing this there is no more in the freezer. I'm sad lol We will be back!!!!

Originally, we were going to do one gallon but then switched to two quarts so we could split up and pick. They are cash only, so make sure to bring cash with you. There were so many blueberries to pick from. Rows and rows of ones that were ready to pick and others that should be ready in a week or so. There were a lot of flies and bees, so be cautious if you're allergic, but they didn't not bother us.

From the organization of the time slots to the variety of trees, they really do a nice job. The day we were there they had 4 varieties to choose from and they had an expert to help you understand the difference between them. We were with a group of 12 and they hayride and hot chocolate made it a fun day for the youngest members, while the selection and prices made it a great day for everyone else! On the recommendation of a friend, we went to Holly Berry. It was a fair drive for us, about 30 miles each way. But it was well worth it. Thanksgiving weekend, we made the trip and found a great selection of trees at reasonable prices. "Reasonable" is of course relative but it was not more than I expected to pay for a nice fraser fir, anyway. The tree stayed fresh through the entire holiday season. We didn't even notice a lot of "branch droop" which is common with these trees, so we concluded it was really freshly cut. Friendly and helpful staff. We will go back in 2022, without hesitation.

The drive was scenic and beautiful, especially the driveway leading up to the farm. While we were unable to cut our own tree, (we were told that demand out-did supply in past years and the seedlings needed some time to grow,) we did pick a beautiful 8' Frasier Fur from the lot with some help from an employee. (They also had white pines.) We were able to watch as they shook it, trimmed it, and wrapped it up, and we got some advice on tree care as well. They even gave the two big kids a coloring book with a story about real Christmas trees. Then, we took a tractor ride around the field where the saplings are and when we finished, they loaded our tree and we were off. It may not have been what I was expecting, but everyone at Windy Knoll Farms was friendly and helpful, there was a good selection of healthy looking trees, and we all had a great time. We will definitely be back next year!

You can't miss the humongous yellow chair and the quirky metal rooster on the front lawn! There are at least 4 buildings: the main building, the "she shed", another small building, and the big barn down the trail! The barn is full of bigger furniture and architectural items as well as traffic lights and metal sculptures and salvage stuff & fixtures. The smaller buildings have garden items (I found a big terra cotta planter that I purchased) and statues. One outbuilding housed some lovely art deco pieces, vintage hats and purses, wing chairs, perfume bottles, and even an antique typewriter. The cute little she shed had kitchenware, vintage aprons, old utensils, some wooden chairs, a tiny table and a few other cool pieces (I bought a cute white deco bookcase from this area). The main building is full of antique furniture, dining sets, china and crystal, tea things, pictures, lamps, mirrors, rugs, jewelry, and even some homemade crafts. I was in "junking" heaven. The owner was super nice and gave me a deal on my finds. With Yelp I also got 10% off my purchase. Even the pristine restroom was decorated with things for sale, linens, signage, washboards, etc! If you're feeling lucky, don't pass up this awesome shopper's paradise!
