The best family Christmas tradition. Great service and selection. Trees are fairly priced. We can't wait to go back!

We went there to get our tree 2 years ago and were warmly greeted by the nicest Acapulco native named Franco who is the farm owner's right hand man. He helped us pick an amazing tree, cleaned it up, packed it up, and nestled it into our trunk securely. We chatted for a bit about family and where we were from, etc., and when we went back this year, he still remembered us immediately! We missed out last year because we couldn't remember the name or exact location of the farm, and had to make do without, but were so excited to have found it again this year! We got to meet the owner Tony this time around as well. Super nice guy that was just so inviting that we felt right at home. These guys give you the time of day and it translates into our feeling even better about our fantastic find of a tree. Both times we chose to go with Firs that had come down from NC. They were super fresh, and smelled sooo good! Beautiful fantastic trees were abundant, and it really smelled like Christmas... still does :) But you can cut down your own tree from their farm, or have them do it for you as well! You won't go wrong with these guys... They also have U-PICK strawberries and blueberries and the next crop is due to be ready in mid-January. I'm just sad I'll be back in SoCal for school by then. But check the website and make a day of it! Tony said their berries were not sprayed and chemical free too!!! You won't be sorry on your next visit, be it for berry picking, a Christmas tree, or to purchase trees for your own little orchard - their nursery has you covered. Enjoy!

I don't think they're an all-family operation any longer. For at least the last couple years, the person who showed us the trees and then packaged and attached it to my car has been an employee rather than actual Gallio family member, but I think there are family members who help with check out. Last year, I think they were cash only, but this year they accept Zelle too, which is better. They have Fraser firs and also some noble firs, but if you want an 8+ ft tree, Fraser is your only option. Last year, our tree had some gaps that weren't apparent on the initial viewing, and the tree didn't quite make it the three weeks between purchase and actual Christmas day, despite adequate water and staying in our temperature-controlled home. This year, our tree is gorgeous. I'll come back and update if it doesn't make it the hoped-for 3 weeks. They have candy canes and some holiday-themed games for the kids. If you don't have a big car and/or don't want to deal with transporation yourself, they do offer local delivery.

Brittany explained that there was some internal problem where it showed my plants had previously shipped, when they had not. I think Sow Exotic is aware of the problem and will get things resolved. The plants that shipped were healthy, strong and packed with the utmost care ---as they always have done. In fact one box was crushed by the post office and the post office put a sticker on it alerting me that they had crushed it, and the plant was still in great shape! I still have a tree that is huge from an order in 2015-16. It is fruiting daily and everyone loves it. This has been my go to shop for Tropicals...especially food plants. Past resolved concern: I have been with this company since 2015-16--they were with EtsyPast orders have been filled quickly. I placed an order in July 2019, they partially filled it. I've been waiting for 2 plants (Sapodilla & Yellow Dragon), my emails & phone calls are usually ignored. Occasionally I get a response that it's mailing out next week. I called and emailed the first week of Oct, they told me, 'next week'. In November, after several emails & a phone call, (because I understand things happen that are unexpected). They replied that an office worker had cut through their cable line, so the order would ship out next week. Still nothing. Something is going on with this company...please save your money and don't place any orders. This has been about 6 months of me patiently calling and emailing. There are a surprising number of tropical plant nurseries, if you just look. Logees has been used for decades in my plant club (gesnariads). They have potted tropical plants that can be brought indoors. TopTropicals is a Florida based nursery with everything, including great communication. You can also get great information through California Rare Fruit Growers...look them up on the Internet. This is really unfortunate.

I ordered three different orders. A panadal, dwarf red lady papaya tree, and a Bearss lemon tree. I…read moretried initially to go pick up the first two twice. No one was at the nursery. I reached out to them to cancel the order. They responded and apologized saying that there had been a family emergency and wanted make it right with a gift card and to ship at their expense the first two. Okay, fine, I thought. Family emergencies happen. I used the gift card and ordered a lemon tree. I emailed back and emailed again that I understood and had placed an order. To save them costs, I would just come pick the orders all up in a week or two when they're supposed to be open. Unfortunately, here I sit in front of the gate...no one is here, it's closed, they're not answering the phone, and they don't reply to 99% of emails it seems. Sadly, I have to cancel the orders and just start over with another nursery.
