When we were younger and Sea World was open in Aurora, OH around 1993 they had Japanese Pearl diving. (Ladies would dive down and pick out an Oyster, they'd open it and you'd buy the pearl inside) Our oyster was rare and has two pearls!! They put them in a little bag and my wife had them in her jewelry box since that time. The incredible people at JB Jewlers Julie and John designed and made my wife a beautiful pendant using THOSE TWO PEARLS and our daughters birthstones!!! I can't thank the great folks at JB Jewelers for making this idea of mine become a reality. Please support small businesses they are the life blood of our communities.

He was extraordinarily warm and welcoming, and answered all my questions without making me feel silly for asking them. What I appreciated most was how he didn't pressure me to buy the ring's center stone from them when I told him I had found a wholesale gemstone broker elsewhere, whom I was planning on buying from. Knudson's certainly doesn't have the largest inventory, so if you're looking for that, you will be disappointed. But they have all the staples, and a lovely and ever-changing assortment of estate pieces which is always fun to browse. So if you're looking for a local jeweler who will treat you kindly and fairly, Knudson's is worth checking out!

Nick did a great job buying my silver coin collection worth about $20K…read more Since there were so many coins he recommended me leaving the collection with him over the weekend so he could inventory it. I went back into his shop on Monday and he explained what the coins were worth (at market rate). He was also very upfront and transparent on his fees (which ended up being around 10%). Everything seemed reasonable so I proceeded forward. He wrote me a check and kept the silver and the transaction was complete. It couldn't have been any easier. His shop was modern, clean and well organized. He was professional and polite through the entire process. In all a very positive experience and I recommend his service. My partner and I brought in two rings to be resized. We were told it would take about three weeks…read moreand that we'd be contacted when everything was ready. We never received a call, so I called on February 28, the day we planned to pick them up. I was then told the job wasn't finished because of the engraving inside my partner's ring--even though he had clearly said from the beginning that it was fine if the engraving disappeared during resizing. After we repeated that it was fine, we were suddenly told to come in within a few hours. The other ring was mine, and it still didn't fit properly. That day, my partner asked for a very small adjustment--between a size 5 and 5.5 (around 5.25)--because 5.5 was loose and 5 was too tight. The tall female staff member said finger size can change with the weather. I understand that, but I was genuinely worried it could slip off when washing my hands. She told us to come back on Wednesday. When I returned on Wednesday, it honestly didn't feel resized. When I asked about it, the male staff member sighed and told me to "wear it for a week and come back if it still feels loose." He also said he could resize it down by a quarter size and wouldn't charge me for it. That left me even more confused and frustrated--if it could be adjusted that quickly, I don't understand why I was told to wait until Wednesday in the first place. Overall, the communication was poor and the service felt dismissive.

My first experience with the shop, I was gifted a custom necklace by my fiancé, made by the owner, Michael, over a year ago. Michael's attention to detail and craftsmanship is incredible. He was given free rein to design the necklace, using "hummingbird" as the inspiration. His vision, personal touches, and artistic vision made the piece truly stunning. Not only did Michael revive my engagement ring back to brand new sparkle, I was obsessed with these adorable skull pearl earrings (I found out also made by Michael). If you're looking for unique, personalised, high quality jewelry- that highlights independent artisans Squirrel City Jewellery is the spot.
