I explained I needed an appointment ASAP and the nice lady whom I spoke to said I would need to pay a little extra to be seen which was fine. I got there in 5 minutes and after a short wait was seen by the Doctor. He found a small hair in my eyelashes scratching my eye. He carefully removed it prescribed me eye drops and scheduled my follow up for next week. Their office is very welcoming , they make you feel at home and provide excellent service. I purchased a pair of sunglasses in November 2025, not long after the frame was cracked on the…read morebottom of the lense and I was surprised since I hadn't dropped them so was not sure why they were cracked, so I took them back to Eyeglass Factory in Ventura where I purchased them to let them know what had happened. Ventura store just told me no they didn't have the same pair and nothing more. Then I went to the one in Camarillo and explained what happened and Angie was so nice and told me it must have been a defect by the way they were cracked and told me it was still under warranty so was so nice and looked around to try to find me the same pair. She finally found some but in a different color in Santa Barbara so they shipped it to Camarillo and I got them within a few days December 20. I went back and picked up the glasses and this morning I woke up and they were cracked in the same exact spot as the last pair so since I got this last pair in Camarillo, I decided to go back to that same store since Angie was so helpful and let them know what had happened. When I went in the girl behind the counter greeted me and as I was telling her what had happened from the beginning she was giving me a look as if my story wasn't true in a way and told me well you only get one warranty and I said well I believe it was a defect and then she called to Angie and Angie tried helping me out looking for another frame that maybe my lense could be put into. This review would have been a 5 star but with the way the first girl behind the counter made me feel and wasn't nice after her greeting I could only give a 3 star. Angie is amazing.

My issue with his practice has been the lab he had contracted with for the glasses. I spent almost a thousand dollars for my prescription to be serviced by their lab and it took 16 weeks to get back! I kid you not! Unfortunately later on in the year, the left corner of my Oakley lens popped up! I notified Dr. Amundsen about it, and they told me that they're not responsible for it.

Dr. Nguyen performed my eye examinations prior to and following my Light Adjustable Lenses (LAL)…read moresurgery to correct cataract, astigmatism, and overall vision performed by Dr John Davidson. Dr Nguyen was a delight to work with, always cheerful, knowledgeable, and on time. If she was busy or stressed I never got a sense of it as she was patient (even though I was the patient, LOL!) and took the time to discuss any and all issues related to my surgery and follow up progress exams. Oh yes, the surgery was a complete success! While not inexpensive (Medicare and even my PPO insurance doesn't cover most of the cost) the end result after 6 months is virtually perfect distance, mid-range, and reading vision. I do use OTC low power readers when doing extended close work or reading, but for day to day needs like reading labels, recipes, etc. no glasses are needed. I highly recommend the entire Miramar team; Drs Davidson, Nguyen, and Roy Butera, my primary care vision doctor.
