It is assembly line operation and if things go wrong, then the system is very poor in helping individuals, as was in my case. I had two doctors tell me a different plan that would work for my eyes. They're overbooked understaffed three hours for an eye doctor appointment that did nothing but check my eyes. Extremely unprofessional procedures of using that facility as a training ground and having extremely unskilled and untrained youngsters poking in your eyes. Every single experience there over a two year period was frustrating. Not one time could they operate the equipment professionally and without having to get help from someone during my multiple tests. I felt the doctor was only getting as good information as the person performing the test. In a perfect world, I would want the doctor performing the test. So I was never confident I was getting the best medical care I could get. I was seriously poked in the eye on one visit and very disappointed on most occasions. I even related that experience to a woman in a subsequent visit who claimed to be an office manager, she promised could operate the equipment with no problems. When her efforts went on to even more epic problems during my test than the students before she claimed she was a manager in a different facility and was unfamiliar with the equipment in this one! So of course it wasn't her fault! It would've been hilarious if it wasn't for the fact I was there for a serious eye problem. The only positive thing I could say about this place is I like the doctor and thought he was good except for his extremely poor choice to use me as a training ground for his rookies and to surround himself with such unprofessionalism and limited accurate information. read more

I went here about a month ago and got there early and wasn't seen until 3 hrs later. I saw people going in shortly after me doing tests that got there an hr or 2 after me. If I didn't pay so much for the lasik I would have left. I complained to my dr who referred me and shortly got a call and how they apologized for the wait and will try to make it but she had to talk her manager and that's all I heard. Just felt like they did not care about my time and just wanted my money. I tried to do a follow up with the lady and left a voicemail but no response back Pretty sure when they finally called me back it was lunch time because I could hear them talking asking where the dr was to double check my eyes and someone said she's at lunch. Just wish they cared about your time instead of having you sit around for 3 hrs for a 5 min surgery. read more

In June 2024, I had my eyes dilated at the Westlake office and I had the Lasik surgery at the Camarillo office. Overall, I highly recommend surgery with DLV and Dr. Dougherty. The surgery went very smooth as well as the follow up appointments. I returned to work the next day. The staff was very friendly, and answered any of my questions. Got here at prescribed time; was told "drs are at lunch." waited 45 min to see a tech, who then wanted to run me through the same tests I'd just had done (precisely why my optometrist had referred me). When I asked "do you have the information from my optometrist?" They said "no". How do you know what to treat me for? They said you wrote it down. Absolutely medically irresponsible to NOT confer with the referring doctor or at least have the prior exam results. Just a factory trying to pump through insurance charges. If I could give no stars to this organization I would. I went in for an "evaluation" for Cataract surgery. I waited in the lobby for an hour before i was called into a room. I was seen by 3 different people for approximately 20 minutes of time and then the doctor for about 5 minutes of time. However, the entire time that I was stuck in rooms waiting to be seen was 2 1/5 hours for a total of 25 minutes of actual interaction with someone. Then I was put in a room with a "used car saleswoman" to tell me the outrageous price they wanted to charge me for surgery and replacement lens. No explanation of the process, or what to expect was given to me; just an estimate. My total time spent in this place was over 3 1/2 hours. The organization then proceeds to bill my insurance carrier $1,125 for 25 minutes of actual time with me!! I found a wonderful doctor who is excellent. He came recommended by another eye doctor in town. The same procedure that I had him do was $4,000 less than what this organization wanted to charge me. This organization is nothing but a money mill. Prepare to wait a long time at all dlv centers. They like to overbook and you'll wait about an hour plus for every follow up appointment so bring something to do. Also double check if they're calling in prescriptions. They said they called in our 3 rx but they had not. Wasted time driving to the pharmacy. Then they only called in 2. 3 visits later got the drops I needed. Normally don't complain ever but this is truly a factory experience and not worth the money. Rooms are dirty! read more

If I could've given more than five stars, I would! Scheduling appointment was very easy. This was my daughter's second time coming for a consultation! The doctor was VERY attentive with all of our questions, and very detailed in the consultation. I loved the video that they shared with us, breaking it down on how treatment was going to be handled. Christina the patient counselor was also very organized and efficient on getting us an appointment right away so my daughter can have her surgery. No 23 year old wants to hear that they are loosing their vision and christina was so caring during the consultation, from scheduling to financing. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Stay away. This is a factory. Make an appointment. Wait 90 minutes to 2 hours to actually get in. The first order of business is not eye care its to upsell you. The "patient coordinators" are sales people in disguise. They probably work on commissions. Then its time for the eye procedure. Factory again. They want all of their money up front and they will call you the afternoon before to give your time. That is because again since its a factory they have to move them in and out quickly. They choose your don't. Since you have to have sedation you can't eat or drink after midnight. So if your slotted by them in the afternoon (remember, they chose the time you don't) you'll wait 12 to 15 hours to eat or drink. There has got to be other alternatives in Ventura County. And if your an eye surgeon this is a great place to hang your shingle. We need competition here. read more

I was very disappointed with my experience here at DLV Vision in Camarillo and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They called me the day before to be at this office at 10:30 am, mind you I was coming from the valley. I got there early, only to be waiting in a room full of other people and not called back until 11:35. Once I was called back I was back there for another 2 HOURS waiting for them to take me in for my surgery which was all of 5-10 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. I was there total of 3.5 hours all for a LASIK appt. They seem to overbook on surgery days & only the doctors were friendly. Won't be back. read more

AMAZING experience here! Wow! I had Lasik here a couple months ago and had to post a review! All of the staff here are very friendly, the patient counselor, the doctors/techs are all very informative and explained every little detail to me. I was a nervous wreck but everyone was comforting assuring me there is nothing to worry about. The procedure itself was very quick and I was worried for no reason. Ever since 5th grade, I was wearing either contacts or glasses just to simply see. Given all the events happening in 2020 and predictions of zombies in 2021 by Nostrodamus: "Few young people: halfdead to give a start. Dead through spite, he will cause the others to shine. And in an exalted place some great evils to occur: Sad concepts will come to harm each one, Temporal dignified, the Mass to succeed. Fathers and mothers dead of infinite sorrows, Women in mourning, the pestilent she monster: The Great One to be no more, all the world to end." It's good to know this is one less thing I have to worry about while having to sprint out of my house at a moment's notice. The assurance of being able to run away from future zombies without having to secure a month's supply of my Acuvue contacts is a super life-saving investment. If the astrologers are right, I would keenly look into fixing your eyes before you too are in the need. Realistically, the "half-dead to start" might be referring to all the people locked away at home blindly consuming content from their screens. Who knows, better to hedge your bets before you can't determine if that person in front of you is coming up to you for a hug or to nom on your grey matter. For this matter, I highly recommend Dr. Paul Dougherty for his professionalism and his ability to give you the emotional reassurance that your eyes will be taken care of. His staff was super informative and expressed great empathy to me that I felt so at ease on surgery day. The other vision centers I checked out didn't have as nice of facilities or as many options. Due to my eyes being -8.00, I had the option of either Lasik or PRK...until I stepped into Dougherty's office, I had no idea there was a new treatment called ICL. ICL consists of them putting in contacts into your eyes. It's reversible, doesn't cause dry eyes (my eyes are already dry), and has natural UV protection. :) So thank you Dr. Paul Dougherty for giving me a chance on surviving a predicted zombies uprising this year. I had -8.00 vision so just being able to see so clearly after a short nap from surgery made me bursting with gratitude and appreciation. Being able to swim in the ocean and open my eyes to the fishes and any possible incoming water zombies was also a superpower I didn't have before. After suffering an abrasion to my cornea, I called DLV (in horrendous pain) and the staff arranged an appt in 30 minutes. Thirty! For an office which I know is very busy. Dr Kennedy was very professional and efficient, putting the numbing drops in as soon as she verified the problem (did I mention I was in terrible pain??--lol) and commenced with a thorough eye-exam to rule out any other problems. I left with a "contact bandage" and drops and a follow-up, completely relieved of the eye pain. My sincerest thanks to the staff and Dr Kennedy for the prompt and compassionate attention. I cannot say enough about the treatment I'm receiving from Dr. Zhang and nurse Viri Campa of DLV Vision. Dr. Zhang performed a right eye cornea transplant on me in late August. She thoroughly explained the procedure upfront and answered all of my questions, I was very comfortable going into surgery knowing I was in good hands. Viri has been extremely helpful sorting out the various prescription eye drops required post surgery and making sure re-fill authorizations were promptly sent to my pharmacy.
