I started physical therapy and quickly used up all my allowable PT visits but was nowhere near ready to stop doing physical therapy. I figured if I was going to pay out of pocket for PT, then I mine as well pursue therapeutic massage therapy and do the exercises at home on my own time. Enter Suzanne. I have been seeing Suzanne about once a week for over a month for targeted therapy on my legs. In some cases it extends to my low back, glutes, pelvic, hips, etc but it all just depends on what's happening with my body in any given week. This woman works magic. I leave her studio pain free and feeling muscles I didn't even know existed. The work she's doing on me hurts and is not relaxing but my goodness has it completely changed my recovery. I'm sure she offers relaxing, gentle massage work too, but if you really want to invest in body work then just let her do her thing because you won't regret it. Here's the catch... she's a very popular lady and is often booked out 4-5 months. I have no idea how I managed to get on her schedule but I have to believe the universe aligned and made room for me when I needed her most. Once you're a client, you can add yourself to her cancellation list (managed via text) and if you have a flexible schedule then you'll typically find at least one slot a week opens up.

My husband sees Linda every two weeks for chronic low back issues and she's helped him tremendously. Their new location is very central and easy for us to get to. The interior and ambiance is exactly what I expect for a massage therapy business. It's quiet, low light ambiance, soft music, warm blankets. You might know Tele Raack better as local Twitter maven @BIGstLittleCity or @WomanWifeMomMe. Funny…read moreenough, Tele and I didn't meet on Twitter: we met in the real world as hospice-volunteers-in-training. Tele is an amazing person: wife and mother of six, hospice volunteer, prolific Twitterer. She even sells crafts on Etsy! Tele also has amazing hands: she's a licensed massage therapist. She recently opened her new massage studio in a cozy office on the corner of Plumas and Plumb. Her studio is in an office complex built to resemble little cottages, so for those uncomfortable with the idea of letting their guard down for a massage, her location conveys a solid sense of professionalism yet isn't the least bit cold or clinical. From the moment you walk in the door of Tele's studio, say "aaahhh." The walls are painted wasabi green -- that's literally the name of the paint color. She has elegant Asian-themed wall hangings, bubbling fountains, soothing music and extra-soft sheets. Tele truly has great hands. I marveled at all the different hand movements she did, and how gentle she was. (At one point she asked me if I wanted to try harder and I said yes, but after one or two moves I couldn't take it!) It was a VERY thorough massage, and I still feel great a day later. I just wish I'd done my usual yoga first so I could get maximum benefit. Tele has a specific interest in massage for hospice patients, as well as geriatric patients. If you need healing hands for someone who's older and not well, she can help. If I were you, I'd book your massage with Tele tout suite. She knows a lot of people and is an excellent marketer. I bet you won't be able to get time with her in a year.

Also, the atmosphere in her relatively new studio is perfect and subtle enough not to distract. It is very tastefully decorated. If you need a deep tissue therapeutic massage focused on one area, you need to schedule a massage with Tele. In short, she is totally responsive to what you need, no matter what it is. If you are looking for a quality, professional massage, I cannot recommend her enough.
