I've been seeing Khat for several months now and I've been so happy with her as a massage therapist. She's someone I'll continue to see at least once a month because she really knows how to get into my trouble areas and work out the kinks. I think of Khat as being more like a physical therapist where she really targets my trouble areas. I always look forward to the opportunity to chat about life and spiritual journeys every time I see her. She's an amazing resource for alternative health. My husband sees Linda every two weeks for chronic low back issues and she's helped him tremendously. Their new location is very central and easy for us to get to. The interior and ambiance is exactly what I expect for a massage therapy business. It's quiet, low light ambiance, soft music, warm blankets. They use a text messaging system for communication, making it easy to schedule appointments or reschedule if you need. read more

Linda is a fabulous massage therapist NVMT#6457. I thoroughly enjoyed my first massage and I believe after two years of looking for the right therapist, I have found her! In a wonderful environment, Linda was very professional, inquired into my health and well being and set out to use her skills to take care of my aches and pains. I already set my next appointment. Thanks for a great massage! read more

Since moving to this area, I have been searching for a good massage therapist. I have tried at least 10 different providers and had the full range of experiences from very competent to worthless. Even the better therapists still left me with the feeling that something was missing from the total "Ahhhh..." experience. Then, thanks to Groupon, I found Avalon! The first visit, i upgraded the 60 minute massage to 90 mins for a little extra. I thought the price was very reasonable, even without the Groupon. That was before the massage. I booked a session with Coralanne, a quiet, petite girl with a pleasant spirit. Initially, because I prefer deep tissue massages and because of her size, I was skeptical that she would be able to get deep enough. The saying "never judge a book by its cover" should be Coralanne's mantra! Not only did she completely eliminate the deep knots that I knew about, she found more that I didn't. In addition, her technique was so soothing, I almost fell asleep, which never happens! After that experience, Coralanne became the standard by which any others would be judged. There were a few therapists after that experience and none even came close. Fast forward a couple of months, after my stockpile of Groupons for other massage therapists was depleted. Avalon published another Groupon. Oh goodie!! Another opportunity to see Coralanne! This time, however, I opted for a session with Kat, the owner. She has such a laid back demeanor and is very easy to talk to. OMG!! I don't think I've ever had a better massage! I didn't even mention the deep tissue preference but she mixed her technique so smoothly and merged a number of disciplines to gently coax even the most stubborn knots out of my neck! When it was all over, I lamented the rapid passing of my time but I will definitely be back! The biggest problem I have with them is deciding which therapist I want to see! Decisions, decisions! read more

I was able to try this thru Groupon. I would highly recommend Avalon Massage. I have gone thru other massage places but this is only where i really got the best deep tissue massage. Working 8 hrs a day in an office has been giving me low back pain plus stubborn tensions. Mitch was the one who handled me. Mitch focused on all areas I needed. Mitch hit the right spots and knots. I felt the pain but no pain no gain. It was a good pain!. after the 60 minute massage I put on my shoes and wow i can bend without having lower back pain!! My whole body was relaxed - tension removed!! Thank you Avalon and Mitch. Definitely I will come back!! read more

Best. Massage. Ever. Khat has incredible technique, and is very strong! I tried it on a Groupon, but they offer good deals to recurring customers. I've already booked my next 3 massages! ***Update: Hilary is new here, I was her first client. In a word...AWESOME! Hilary is incredibly talented, very knowledgeable, and extremely friendly! She even showed me muscles I didn't know about, why they were so tight, and how they affected my back pain. What a great addition to Avalon Massage, they've struck gold! Always a great massage here, and decent prices. read more

I received a Groupon for my birthday and made an appointment with Mitch. It was my first time ever getting a professional massage, and he made it very relaxing and effective. I have a lot of tension in my shoulders and neck due to an injury when I was younger, combined with my job, and after my massage I was completely relaxed and have no pain or pulling in my entire upper body. Thanks Mitch! I will be back :) read more

Avalon Massage - Massage Therapy Near Me - Reno, Nevada

Khat is a very friendly nice person. I had a aroma therapy massage with her. She had very fluid strokes which were relaxing. She put pressure where it was really needed but was gentle in other places. Everything felt very smooth while she worked on me it was oh so relaxing. She also asks if you would like a hug at the end which is considerate for people with boundaries but also caring mentally as hugs are proven to have healing properties. She's very sweet and would recommend her read more

My boyfriend and I had a great experience here, with a great deal through groupon. It was a fairly small set up and when we were there it was just us and Khat. We were able to easily take turns getting massaged and reading in the lobby. Tea and water were offered. And, as hoped, our Avalon massages left us feeling fabulous! Would definitely recommend! read more

Linda was great! I had no idea how tight my shoulders were until they were worked on. Definitely what my poor muscles needed. Will be coming back! read more

Bought a groupon for this establishment, scheduled an appointment 4 days in advance, stood outside in the rain waiting for a therapist to show up for my appointment. No one ever showed. I texted the number that was used to set up appointment. No reply. I would suggest avoiding this business so your time is not wasted as mine was. read more

You know that amazing numb feeling you (can) have after a massage... yep.. that's what I am currently relishing in! I had an aromatherapy massage with Brandi and she was amazing. She asked me about my current problems and then in the massage worked intently on helping to soothe and fix my shoulder/ neck pain. It wasn't the "hard" rub on the area that you can get in some spas, but rather stretches and pressure points that made the difference. I am so happy I bought a Groupon to Avalon, and I can't wait to go back!!! read more

My husband and I were staying the night in Reno for a weekend getaway. He surprised me with a hour massage. It was AMAZING!! He originally had booked me a deep tissue, but after speaking with me she determined I would benefit from an aroma therapy massage. It was so relaxing and she took the time after to show me some neck stretches I could do while working long days in front of the computer. Overall, she is great, the experience was great, and I highly recommend her services. read more

First off, I need to say that I never got to the massage because of the poor scheduling. Here's the sequence of events: I called the spa 5 days ahead & made an appointment. Two days later, the spa TEXTED me, saying they needed to reschedule my appointment 4 days past my original date. I had not requested any specific therapist, so there was no reason to delay over any particular individual. I asked for a CALL from the manager, and she responded immediately. She claimed to be BOTH the manager AND the scheduler, and again insisted she could do nothing to solver the problem. Her attitude was totally indifference; the poor customer service was stunning. I just canceled. She is either the more incompetent manager in Reno, or a liar. Either way, it's bad news for your spa experience. read more

I just had the best massage of my life with Mitch at Avalon. Mitch is a personal trainer and a massage therapist and has an unsurpassed knowledge of how to treat athletes. I lift weights, run, and row in my free time and sit at my desk all day at work. Mitch found problem areas that I didn't even know about and worked out all the knots and tension. Mitch also educated me on areas I need to continually work on and things I can do at home between massages. read more

Linda does an AMAZING job! She is warm, friendly, and professional and I was instantly at ease, and that was before the massage even started! This was the worst Groupon Massage experience I have ever experienced. To make it worse, it was a gift from my daughters for Mother's Day. For my first appointment, Khat was missing in action. She later called to say there was a glitch in the computer system and she didn't have it on her calendar. Mistakes happen so I accepted the mistake. She rescheduled me for a couple of days later. First she offered me an appointment with the male therapist. I told her I wasn't comfortable with a male so she scheduled me with a female. However, as soon as the massage started, I told her I requested deep tissue and she said she was only trained to do aromatherapy. I was pretty annoyed and never really relaxed. When I told Khat how disturbed I was at this her first comment was "I offered to schedule you with (name of the male therapist) but you didn't want that." I responded, "you never said there was a difference in the skills of the different therapists and since I had requested deep tissue it was your responsibility to point out the full range of options and who was capable of providing what I requested." I was originally scheduled with Khat. It also felt like you she was holding me, the customer accountable for her mistakes and oversights. She offered to give me one more massage at a 50% discount. I live 45 minutes from this location. After 2 mishaps and her response, I declined. I can not review the quality of her massages but the experience and her lack of professionalism were extremely disappointing and instead of relaxing, I left agitated twice. read more

My husband & I both got massages at Avalon from a Groupon. As we drove up I was surprised by the exterior of the business. But the therapists were amazing! Very professional & we both loved our massages. They did a great job! Didn't just swoosh their arms on our backs, really massaged our knots. read more
