I always felt like the support staff would rather be playing on their phone than assisting me, and I would have a very long wait while I was in the office to see him. It would also take a significantly amount of work to get refills called it. I felt like I was bothering the staff to do their jobs. Then, two years ago I had an injury and made a 'first available' appointment, and was seen by Dr. Miller. Well, she was FANTASTIC! She took the time to listen to me and really was far superior to Dr. Veech, so I called to have my annual switched over to Dr. Miller. I had to wait 6 months to get an appointment, but it was worth it. I have been going to her for the last year and a half, and then I get a letter in the mail that she is leaving the practice. So now I'm leaving the practice too.

His attitude was abrasive and I asked for a female doctor which he snapped there were none just him and to deal with it, then a nurse ripped open the curtain and said "yeah he's the only doctor and he's already entered your room so you've gotta pay him. That's how it works" I will recite this exact review if I get a bill because I am not paying for negative attitude and people who are exasperated by my need for medical attention. I left immediately in tears and told the front desk how horrible the doctor and nurse were.tried to walk home unsuccessfully and people on the street thought I wa drunk and been assaulted from how upset I was on top of having extreme dizziness and nausea like vertigo. Shame because this place has been recommended to me but I'm not paying for their mean attitude and lack of care for wellbeing. We have several members of our family with very specific health needs and Dr. Carl and his staff keep us up to date so we don't have to remember all of the details! They take care of it for you. Making appointments is as easy as can be. Prescription refills are always checked and evaluated and dispensed appropriately. Cathy is the lead nurse and she is always super organized and extremely helpful and communicative! Colleen is such a sweet and welcoming member of WellcomeMD. I always love seeing her face!:) Heidi is fabulous on the phone and great with communications. She gets the job done! But when it comes to your health, your relationship with your doctor, it's an intimate dynamic because it requires clarity and trust on the part of the doctor and patient. Dr. Carl is so relaxed that he puts his patients at ease immediately. He is thorough and goes through all of your blood panels with you one-on-one and makes excellent suggestions and also is complimentary if he feels that you are doing well. He will prescribe supplementation only if it is reflected as needed in your bloodwork. Personally, my blood pressure zooms up every time I go to the doctor. But with Dr. Carl, he brings it back to normal and puts me at ease. Obviously, my entire family and I are fans of WellcomeMD. I recommend Dr. Carl and Dr. Colfer to everyone I know! As an aside, we drive 1.5 hours each way, just to be a part of their practice. They are THAT good.

Worst of all, still no answers. Still no genetic or allergy testing. Zero discussion or advice about supplements, etc., which I expected would be forefront. It's just a pcp gatekeeper, like when you had a pediatrician. Now looking for a new pcp coordinated with specialists (perhaps VCU), somewhere with expertise in areas of need. And sadly (trying not to be sick over it (pun intended)), still have months on the Wellcome contract ($$$ :( ).

Nurses were great once I saw them but the doctor was dismissive about my care and treated me horribly. I have never experienced this type of care where I was basically punished for being in waiting room, brought paperwork with me and was dismissed by doctor and said he couldn't help me. Dr. Pace has provided excellent care and helped address my concerns by setting up tests with specialists that has helped give me peace of mind. He reviews my lab report with me and explains the results in terms I can understand. We have made adjustments to my medications based on the lab report that my previous Primary Care Physicians did not address. I definitely believe PartnerMD is worth the additional expense.
