I had the 8 spark plugs on my truck replaced after I decided I didn't want to do that job. I told the service writer that I wanted the old plugs back when I dropped the vehicle off and reminded him again that I wanted the old plugs back when he called to tell me the job was done. When I came to pick the vehicle up he only had two for me to see. So much for following the customers wishes. Also what constitutes "shop supplies"? Evidently they went through $24.95 of something to have to put that on the bill. Perhaps because I brought in my own spark plugs they could not make a markup on them so they added the shop supplies charge in lieu. read more

Thought I'd give this facility a try since they acquired the business after my previous bad experience. I showed up without an appointment and they took me in between scheduled customers with a smile. They performed my oil change service in a professional manner without trying to up sell me on unnecessary services as most dealers and repair facilities do. They did make recommendations for future services based on my mileage which will help me to make future budgetary plans, I was very impressed with the employees I had contact with. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. So I drove here to Fallon from Washington state for work and the day I got here my A/C on my truck basically exploded at my AC Compressor. I started making some calls to have it fixed because it was a crisp 100 degrees on average. NO ONE in town could see me for at least a month and some responses I got were they have no idea when they could see me. I spoke with Mike at Christensen automotive and he was so helpful. He said if I could drop it off they would try to work it in. He stuck to his word because I dropped it off and then about 3hrs he called me back and said it was good to go. One of their technicians took a look at it and found I had WAY too much PSI in the system. Normally about 27 PSI and I had 50! Said that the explosion I heard was a relief valve letting off pressure. So they recharged it to correct specs and it was good to go. Thank you so much Mike and your staff! read more

As I was traveling from Reno to Las Vegas, my tire pressure monitoring system light came on. It does that a lot with seasonal changes. I stopped in here and asked them if they could check my tire pressure, and they said no problem. I was in and out in two minutes with the correct pressures in all four tires. They straight charged me $20 a spark plugs for 7 dollar plugs at o'reilly's. This markup model is a joke. And a terrible one at that. And repeatedly dodging my questions about price over the phone is never a smart business tactic. Needles to say unless you've suffered a brain injury or would love to pay $450 to have your spark plugs changed I would look elsewhere. Or figure out how to do then at home like I will be. read more

Stopped after a long day's drive from the Los Angeles area. Motel 6 will accept my two dogs, so that's where we checked in. Dropping my tailgate to get out the suitcases, I noticed a light film of oil mist on the rear of the truck, and investigated. I have a slight pinion seal leak from the differential, and crawled under and pulled the plug.My pinky finger detected NOTHING on it's "dipstick" and this had me concerned! Don't want to burn up a differential in the middle of the Nevada desert. I noticed when we went up Taylor Street into town for a bite to eat that there was an Express Oil and Tune Up (just south of the Dairy Queen where we had intended to get a light "dessert" later), but it was closed already for the evening. Next morning, Saturday, at 0830 I fueled up and dropped by this place. I related my problem and concern, and they had my F350 on the rack in five minutes. They checked both differentials and pumped less than a pint of the prescribed full-synthetic 85W-140 oil into the rear one. When I went to "settle up", all he said was "Have a nice day"! He wouldn't even accept a "tip"! I was so pleased by the small-town friendliness, attitude, and professionalism that I had to stop and write this review. I gave this place 2 stars because they fixed my car correctly. Otherwise it would be a one star because the customer service was so bad. The store manger was rude on the phone and short. I was curious about why the price was so high, so I asked why certain parts of the repair cost so much. After I guess one too many questions he got very rude and snappy telling us that we should just take our car somewhere else if we don't like the prices. I didn't have a issue with the prices, I was just curious because where I'm from it would of been 700 dollars cheaper. If I had the choice I would of taken my car to a different shop but I was not in the position to do so. Not to mention when we finally got our car back we checked under the hood and they forgot to put back the engine bay cover. We had to drive all the way back to have them put it back on. Take your car to someone friendlier if you have a choice. read more

I took my pick up to Christensen to have the a/c repaired. It was blowing warm air. They had me sign a paper that I would pay at least $70.00 for a diagnosis. I wanted them to fix it after the diagnosis. They asked me if I had tried to charge it myself. I said yes, with A/C pro I purchased at O'reilly. They said that's funny because your system is empty. Then they said they would not be able to hook it up to their machine because A/C pro contains a leak preventer in it. They said it would harm their machine. I understand because it is an expensive machine and it is their right to refuse to work on my vehicle. However that prevented them from providing a diagnosis. Shouldn't that void the $70 charge? NOT. They still charged me $70.00 for a diagnosis I did not receive and sent me on my way. I then took it to a shop in Fernley. They found the leak, repaired it, charged the system and sent me on my way with a fully functioning A/C system. Buyer beware. Do not sign the diagnosis paper if you take your vehicle to them. I will never go back to them and will recommend the shop in Fernley rather than Christensen Automotive. read more

Very disappointed. Asked for an oil change/brake flush and about my fuel filter for a diesel. Came and got my truck and the guy at the desk said my fuel filter was fine it didn't need to be done. Three days later my change fuel filter light starts blinking. I call and say I thought it was fine and they tell me well there is no way to actually tell. So I asked why I was told it was fine then. Guy got snappy with me. What a waist of over 200$ read more
