I told Chris that if everything goes smoothly I would be recommending him to everyone one I know. Well I'm here, which only means that Chris' excellent work compelled me to write this positive review (I'm a super lazy person so this is a big deal). For quick context, I was buying my very first property and I reached out for information from most everyone I knew who own one or multiple condos in Chicago. When the topic of mortgage brokers came up every one of them told me how brokers are either incompetent or the as one of my friends put it: "flat out scum." You reading this might have people you know that would say the same thing. It seemed common that when it came to mortgages there was nothing but trouble. Chris taught me that there is at least one out there that is none of those! Since it was my first place I had next to nothing personal experience. So aside from asking those that went through it all, I also looked to the internet. There I found a seminar co-hosted by Chris over the process of purchasing a condo. Chris' seminar also had free beer, so there was that too. During the seminar he made the information over getting a mortgage incredibly easy to digest and after his presentation I was convinced that I needed to hold on to his contact for when the time came. About a month or two later, I began my condo search for real. I mentioned before that those around me said nothing but bad things about brokers and suggested that I talk to multiple brokers over rates. It's sound advice I admit; If I am going willingly be shackled by debt for a good portion of my life I might as well make sure I get the fuzziest cuffs. I added Chris to my "battle royal" of brokers. It was not long until I saw a difference between Chris and the others. Unlike the super-duper optimistic brokers, he had a realist tone. That scored highly in my book. His rate was very accurate to the final rate I got from everyone else (they kept changing and sounding very enticing but once all the information is on the table, their rate was exactly the same). So he won out in the end. So with that done, I had my A-team ready to roll! I am a person eternally hungry for updates; Chris fed me well. I would be in contact him multiple times every week throughout the process. I would check, double-check, and triple-check the list of items that I needed to do with Chris in a regularly. It was all worth it for on the day of close, my side had absolutely everything ready and I have Chris and his crew to thank for that. Quick closing story: the seller's side was missing a payoff letter from their mortgage, and it just so happened that particular mortgage company works closely with United Home Loans. With the speed of a magnificent gizelle, Chris assisted the seller's attorney in obtaining the letter through his contact. By that time I already knew going to Chris was my best decision, that little event solidified that fact further. ...Anyway, I recommend Chris for all your property mortgage needs. read more

My wife and I just finished our first mortgage process with Chris and couldn't have had a better experience! We started out the process far in advance, and contacted Chris before even moving to the Chicago area. He spoke with me for a half hour, explaining the process and giving advice, way before we were actually ready to put in an application. Over the next half a year, Chris checked in once in a while to see how we were doing and if there was anything he could do to help. When it came time for the application, everything was super easy. Chris spoke with us a few more times to outline our options and what might work best given our situation. He never pushed one option over another and instead, he laid everything out clearly and let us know the pros and cons of each. He introduced us to his team, who would be assisting throughout the process, and then sent us a link for the online document room we would be using to collect all the supporting documentation. Throughout the entire process, Chris was readily available for any of our questions and concerns. Sometimes I sent him e-mails with a laundry list of questions which he responded to promptly and in good detail so that I could understand right away. Even when he was on vacation (and I hopefully made it clear we didn't need a response until he got back!!), Chris set up a time for us to have a call to keep things moving smoothly. I never felt like anything snuck up on us or that there was something I wasn't prepared for. When it came closer to closing, Chris and I had another call where we went over all of the closing costs and what they were for. On the day of closing, he showed up at the table (something I know isn't required) and stayed until we were ready to close. In all, Chris was friendly, extremely professional, easy to work with, and very knowledgeable about his business. He was always well prepared to speak with us about our situation and I never once felt like we were getting cut off or his focus was elsewhere. We were lucky enough to be referred to Chris by our real estate agent, whom I trust immensely. And she did not lead us astray. Before we even decided on getting our mortgage through UHL and Chris, Chris met with my husband and me at a time convenient for us for lunch to talk about what he does differently, the mortgage process, (we are first-time buyers) along with getting to know each other. This was even after we had spoken on the phone with him twice before to get a feel for whether our personalities meshed. If you need a mortgage, I highly recommend that you contact Chris. Because I moved from out of state to find work and was in between jobs, I was struggling to get pre-approved for a mortgage through my primary bank due to a lack of stable income. This was even despite having a relationship with my primary bank for over two decades. In my experience, a disinterested lender is the primary cause of delays in the closing process. Chris and his team at UHL were the exact opposite of the inattentive lenders that I had experienced in the past. Chris and his team were extremely communicative. I knew when I sent Chris an e-mail with a question, I could expect a response from somebody...usually that same day. Sometimes I would even send an e-mail on a Saturday morning expecting an answer on Monday, and I would get a response by Saturday afternoon. Chris was always a phonecall or text away. Chris did a great job walking me through the mortgage process, and I'm very glad that I worked with him. He was extremely responsive, and I'm pretty sure that I asked him a question on just every expense in the process - sometimes twice. I closed a little faster than normal, and Chris and his team made everything very easy for me.
