I can't say enough great things about Chris. Oddly enough, we met on Reddit when I posed a question about something another lender told me. Skeptical (it is Reddit after all), I reached out and we spoke via phone. Chris was professional, available, and spoke in terms I could clearly understand. If this is your first time buying a home or 10th, this is worth reading because the process always changes and you need someone you can trust! Below are some thoughts around my experience with Chris: Professional: Extremely professional and does what he says he's going to do... it's the little things that make a big difference. Shows up on time, when he says he's going to call you, send you a response to your question or send that weekly update email - he does it. A trait hard to come by! Did I mention he sent us a hand-written note in the mail? Timely & Responsive: Sure... sometimes a 'big bank' can offer you additional services/benefits, but it's likely they're located in another state and send you 'canned' emails and don't make YOU a priority (amirite?). This is ONLY based on my personal experience. Chris is very timely, available at all times and makes YOU feel like his top priority (though I'm sure he has many other clients). Local gives you the face-time and personalized attention during one of the biggest purchases of your life. Make. It. Count. Knowledgeable: Chris knows his stuff. There was a new loan assistance program wher I purchased and he already had experience closing these loans, even though the program was somewhat new. He set expectations in advance, outlined what he could do and delivered on every single thing he said he would. We literally saved thousands of dollars because of his help on the interest rate, lender credit and the assistance program which granted us thousands of dollars (no income restrictions, no payback, no hold times, etc.) - it's run through Associated Bank and for certain census tracts (worth asking him about it if you're in the market!). Overall, Chris treated us with the utmost respect. He delivered on what he said he would deliver on, he showed up on time, was available when he said he would be and even in times when my wife and I felt stressed or didn't fully 'trust' and had hesitations - he made us feel comfortable every step along the way and gained our trust by delivering on everything he said he would... Hey, my wife even said.... "Chris is awesome - I really trust him." and that's should be a Yelp review in itself! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! We went to Chris Kinsella from United Home Loans and spoke with him multiple times regarding starting the pre-approval process. He got us set-up online to start submitting all of our documents which were A LOT. Once we got EVERYTHING submitted we never heard from him again! This guy took all of our information an NEVER called us back or emailed us a status. Even if we were not approved or things didn't look good the LEAST he could have done was call us or send us an email to let us know a status. To this day, which has been OVER A MONTH later,,, STILL NO RESPONSE FROM CHRIS OR UNITED HOME LOANS. We don't think it should be our responsibility to contact him since HE was the one who took all of our paperwork and confidential documents. I think Chris and this company are VERY unprofessional and there is no way I would recommend anyone to them. Chris blatantly lied to me concerning the requirements for FHA to refinance a loan after Chapter 13. . He Stated that FHA requires a 2 year wait after discharge!" . I recently got a discharged from Chap 13, with Credit score of 640.. "Subject: RE: Message from Chris Kinsella - United Home Loans "FHA guidelines are going to require 2 year wait time minimum from date of discharge (assuming credit is reestablished)" This is an example of misleading the public on Guidelines .
