Keep in mind that there is a "Jones Family Farm Pumpkinseed Hill" at 120 Beardsley Rd., and then the "Jones Valley Farm/Jones Winery" at 606 Walnut Tree Rd. My GPS accidentally took me to the Pumpkinseed Farm at first, but it wasn't a big deal because the winery is just a few minutes away. Once I was in the right place, a staff member greeted me and gave me the wine/food menu. They have a lot of different areas to sit, including a patio with tables/umbrellas (where they had live music playing), a pavilion with tables underneath, an upper patio that was covered by a pergola with leaves/vines on top, and an inside bar area with seating. The inside bar area has garage doors that were open, leading out to the upper patio. Even though it was a hot day, I sat under the pergola and it was surprisingly cool underneath! After sitting down, a staff member quickly came over and took my drink/food order. I tried a glass of the Sunshine White, which was delicious! It was on the sweeter side though. Keep in mind that they only sell wine by the glass on the menu, but they do have a store where you can buy bottles to go. I also ordered the Simply Cheese Plate, which came with sharp cheddar cheese, Jones Berry Chutney, and sea salt crackers. This was excellent! They also do have a "Light Fare" menu with things like a hummus plate, cheesecake, popcorn, etc. The service was fast and the staff were friendly. They had a "Bouquet Bar" set up where you could buy fresh cut flowers, as well as a small gift shop. Overall a very cool winery in Shelton, I would definitely recommend!

She was very knowledgeable in explaining the process, location, and hints of flavors for each one. The outside area is beautiful decorated with a water fall fountain and string lights. A gust a wind blew our glass and it broke in the paper bag. The staff was courteous to replace it. The vibe was grown and everyone was professional. I'd definitely come back.

I would have not got it. The pumpkin cheesecake was ok. The hummus dip & nachos were ok as well. Nothing spectacular. The winery is right next to where you can seat & take in the views. When the course was poorly maintained that quirkiness was annoying especially because the greens were so bad. Over the last couple of years the course has undergone a remarkable transformation. There are visible efforts to improve sight lines and playability. Some holes, like 13 still need work as the landing area is as likely to reward a good shot with a bounce into the woods as not. This Golf Course does not have a great layout for parking and I did not notice any warning to alert customers of balls flying over top into the parking lot. The only protection provided is their strategy to line up golf carts along side the green in the hopes that line of defense blocks errant shots. I initially brought it to the Pro Shop's attention and was advised to provide them with a copy of my Drivers License, the bill for the repaired damage to my vehicle, pictures and proof of damage along with a statement as to what happened. After multiple attempts through emails, phone calls to the owner and management team, they simply ignored my request for addressing the issue and paying the damage incurred to me. Essentially ghosting the situation that occurred and not informing their own insurance of the situation. I'm a 20 year veteran who works in the Golf Industry and quite frankly am appalled at the lack of customer service provided.

Aquila's gives a 30-minute grace period, which helped since the area gets very dark at night and the roads are narrow. I knew ahead of time there would be a lobster food truck and a live salsa band. When you arrive, you check in with the hostess, though there's no clear hostess stand since she's stationed at the end of the bar. The inside was crowded with no available seats, but we weren't there for the band anyway. Our igloo had a heater, but two would've been ideal. They recommend bringing a blanket, which I forgot, but it wasn't too cold--around the high 40s. We tried the "Sweet Wine Flight," which included Sparkling Rosé, Moscato, and white and red wine slushies. The white wine slushy was my favorite. It started raining while we were there, and everyone with fire pits cleared out, so I was extra glad we chose an igloo. They offered a cheese box, but it looked too small, so we stuck to drinks. Our server was polite and brought everything out quickly. Reservations give you two hours, and we had a great time. I like the variety of reservation options they offer. For suggestions: it would be nice to have a real charcuterie board instead of tiny cheese and veggie boxes. The indoor space could also be larger, especially for people coming for the live band, and there are no seats around the bar. Overall, though, it's a cozy spot, and I enjoyed the experience.

I am writing this review as an experienced traveler. I have lived in 7 different countries,…read moretraveled to over 30 and am on my fifth passport. I begin with this because in all my traveling I have never used a travel agent or saw the benefit. I met Michele a few years ago and instantly liked her. She is one of those people with amazing energy. So when it was time to book my honeymoon, even though I knew where I wanted to go and stay, I decided to ask Michele to handle the booking and all the details for me. This was at least one thing I didn't have to think or worry about. As it turned out, it was the best decision that I have made in a very long time. The month before the wedding was my busiest of my working career. Added to that, the last minute details of the wedding and the wedding itself. My life was crazy insane but I knew that I would be able to relax on my honeymoon which was scheduled 2 days after my wedding. Here's where it gets good... The day after the wedding it was time to check in to our flights. I got my passport out to put in the details and the expiration date. I kept looking at it and it wasn't making sense to me...then reality hit.. My passport had expired the day before. I couldn't believe it.. How did this happen to me? I know better.. I'm experienced.. I always check, double check and triple check.. But this time, I hadn't because I was more concerned with getting my finance his first passport. I never thought to look at mine. My dream honeymoon was lost... along with all the money I spent to book it. After my screaming, crying and subsequent panic attack.. I started to think. I thought.. ok.. I have a travel agent.. I have heard Michele tell stories about people who this has happened to... So I texted her and said, "Hi Michele... It's amateur hour at my house at the moment... you will never believe this, but my passport has expired and I am melting down"... She instantly texted me back and told me to calm down and that she was on it. About an hour later, she got back to me and said this is the plan... "I have contacted the hotels and the transfer companies. We are all set. They have agreed to push your check in date back a day and we will be able to change the flights. Tomorrow, get up at the crack of dawn and go to the emergency passport office and get a new passport. Long story short.. I did this, got my passport and left the next day. Through this whole sage, Michele was kind and patient and constantly reassured me that everything would be fine even though I thought all was lost. If it wasn't for her, her experience and guidance, I do believe all would have been lost. It was so incredible to know that I had someone to turn to. I also truly believe that the hotels would not have been so agreeable with me directly. But because she is an agent, they want to make sure that they are helpful when they can be. This whole experience has shown me the "TRUE VALUE" of a travel agent. I was able to go on my dream honeymoon that didn't disappoint. Unbeknownst to me, Michele, had one more surprise. When we checked into our room at JADE MOUNTAIN, ST. LUCIA~ which I had been waiting to see for 10 years, we were given an upgrade.. but not any upgrade...They gave us the best room in the entire hotel..(ps.. I have never been giving an upgrade) ....and Never did I think in a million years, I ever would be staying in this room.. I laughed and cried, at the same time. My dream literally came true. It wasn't until I got back and found out that Michele on one of her many travels, had met the owner of this hotel, spoke to her about us and asked her in her sweet Michele way, if there was anything they could do for us, it would be greatly appreciated. Well.. they came through and in the most amazing way. I want to thank Michele for making this all possible. I get emotional thinking about it. She gave me the experience of a lifetime and gave me my dream honeymoon. If it wasn't for her, I don't think my honeymoon even would have happened. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am now a total convert. She will be handling all my travel in the future. Michele.. I hope you're ready! :-) x Erin.

I had a terrible experience at the Factory Underground Open Mic. What was advertised as a "free,"…read moresupportive community event turned out to be an exhausting, $15, 4-hour ordeal. The overall vibes were messy and horrible. Between a rowdy, disrespectful crowd, incompetent management, and bad sets dragging on for way too long, the energy was completely wrong. The tone was set right at the beginning when the host introducing the show admitted she had no idea what food the venue was serving, which was a perfect preview of how disorganized the night would be. First, the hidden costs were very disappointing. This event is advertised as "free" with "paid parking available." I traveled all the way to the venue with my instrument, only to be surprised with a mandatory and very expensive $15 flat-rate parking charge. This feels highly misleading and is an exorbitant amount to pay for parking that no attendee going to a "free" event would have anticipated. I would have been happy to pay that amount if it were an upfront admission ticket instead of an unexpected, mandatory parking toll. The physical setup of the venue made things even worse. The seating layout consists of tables and couches scattered around inconsistently, making the room incredibly awkward and cramped. Because it is so poorly laid out, a large portion of the audience was forced to stand blocking the entrance the entire night. The time management was also incredibly unfair. The event advertised 6-minute slots, which management honored to performers for the first half of the show. However, once they reached the second half, they abruptly cut our slots down to 3 minutes. What made it worse was that even after enforcing this 3-minute restriction on us, management still allowed select performers to go overtime and completely disregard the rules. They let certain acts, including ones the audience clearly disliked, drag on for over 5 minutes without cutting them off. They also showed clear favoritism to students who take paid classes there, letting them combine their sets to hog the stage for 20 minutes. This inherently defeats the purpose of an open mic, makes the audience restless, and prevents different voices from shining. Allowing these specific acts to run significantly over schedule directly penalized the artists left at the end of the night, pushing the entire event way past its intended end time. Because management refused to enforce the rules, the show ran late and 90% of the audience left. I waited over three hours and paid over $15 just to play a single 3-minute song to an empty, exhausted room. To top it off, when people were actually there, the crowd was loud and disruptive. Audience members were loudly taking phone calls and talking over performances while management did absolutely nothing to maintain basic etiquette. I left feeling disappointed, exhausted, and completely unappreciated as an artist. If you are looking for a welcoming and well-run open mic, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. Furthermore, seeing how unprofessionally this event was managed makes it hard to recommend the business as a whole. If they cannot handle basic scheduling or treat outside artists fairly, it calls into question the quality of their paid music lessons and recording services. I suggest saving your time and money and finding a venue that actually values musicians.
