Happy competitive food eater right there

Great selection of food. Endless amounts of Chinese food with all you can eat. Love the select your own hibachi bar and they cook it right there as you watch. We took my uncle who is a competitive food eater and he loved it. Attentive service and plenty of room to sit down and enjoy your meal. Great for a buffet.

Thanksgiving Day Buffet. Turkey, gravy, green beans, cornbread stuffing and a few fried shrimp to top off my LDL.

The wife and I come here a few times a year and it's always pretty good. Today we came for Thanksgiving because it's just the two of us and we didn't feel like cooking. The food at the buffet was all fresh, the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. They had turkey, corn bread stuffing, gravy cranberry sauce, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Sadly no mashed potatoes but plenty of rice and other carbs. It was clean and they kept the plates cleared from the table and refilled our iced tea without us needing to ask. We originally intended to try Golden Corral but there were around 80 people outside waiting to get in and there was no parking available so we drove over to Chow Time. Glad we did. The atmosphere is pretty nice, however, the seats at the booths are cracked and worn out, def need reupholstered. $16.99 each for the Mrs and I plus $2.50 each for our iced tea. I left an $8.00 tip because the service was really good considering it's a buffet.

I gave in to my guilty pleasure and hit up a buffet for a late lunch today. Yes, that's probably crazy in the COVID era but they did a pretty solid job here at Chow Time. Masks required (and most folks were wearing them), disposable gloves for touching the tongs and sanitizers everywhere. As it was not crowded, I had no problem keeping a six foot distance from other patrons and there was no one at the table immediately next to mine. Food was pretty good. A nice selection of the usual proteins in sauces with chicken, beef and pork mixed with vegetables. The baked surimi (krab) was in good condition. Even at 3pm, the buffet tables were tidy and well stocked with fresh food coming out often. I also got one plate of sushi. Nothing spectacular or particularly creative here but the fish was fresh tasting and it looked good. Overall, it was A-OK. Not great and far from bad. I would eat here again. This location is pretty big, it definitely feels like I've been transported to the 2000s with the color scheme. Everyone was hustling and bustling to make sure everyone had what they needed. Our server was wonderful and took good care of us. The food was good! The salad options were wonderful, the corn was okay, the Mac and cheese wasn't all that, the popcorn/coconut shrimp were great. They had good dessert options like brownies, banana pudding, soft serve. The crab legs were good! Between me and my husband, we put down about 10 clusters. (this is a place that you have to come hungry to get your moneys worth) I can totally see how the restaurant makes money from the people that barely eat the crab legs. If you were coming for buffet only $40 as a scam. But if you're coming for crab like buffet and you come hungry, you might get your moneys worth. Please keep in mind that soft drinks are not included into your buffet!!! I definitely felt like a medieval animal, tearing them apart, but thankfully, our server gave us some wet wipes. The flavor was good, they literally taste like crab legs. Overall, it was a good experience. It felt clean and everyone was very attentive. I think this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to come, but we might not come again cause we wanna try another place.

Best Fried Chicken in Panama City or Panama City Beach -- truly!…read more This is THE fried chicken: perfectly seasoned, thickly breaded, explosively crisp! Absolute YUM. But then... the sides... Who serves fried chicken and doesn't offer chicken gravy for the mashed potatoes? I asked, and the reply was: "We have brown and white." Brown and White??? That's a fried‑chicken sin. And the sin deepened when the "mashed potatoes" turned out to be so watery they could practically be served in a cup. I mentioned it to the waitress, who explained, "We use a mix of instant and real potatoes." OH‑kaaay. My response: "Way too much water." Meanwhile, I'm wondering where the butter and cream went. For reference: I took a skinny straw and actually sucked the potatoes through it. That's how thin they were. The vegetables, however, were genuinely delicious -- classic Southern style and well prepared. A surprise hit: the fried hoecakes. Imagine Jiffy sweet corn muffin mix dropped by the scoop full into the fryer. Oddly enough, they were even better dipped into the "brown" gravy (which tasted suspiciously like modified yeast extract). Look, I understand stretching product and using convenience items. But if you're going to cut corners, do it on pre‑slicing the desserts -- not on the core of a Southern plate. My suggestion to the owners: Lean into what you do exceptionally well -- that phenomenal fried chicken. Sell it by the bucket! I'll come buy it! Trim the sprawling buffet, reinvest in real mashed potatoes with butter and cream, make real gravies, and offer a rotating blue‑plate menu. Do fewer things excellently instead of trying to be an "everything" restaurant and missing the mark on the basics. The chicken is worth the trip. The sides could be, too, with a little love.
