Never, ever, ever use Peter Woo's office as your notary for a real estate transaction!…read more The service is definitely cheaper than most notaries ($1,350 for both a buy and sell, vs ~%1,500 quoted by most notaries). However, you DO NOT get what you pay for - I would not use their service again even if it were free. I have run into constant problems with them, have had to go back and forth with new bank drafts for different amounts, and pick up cheques for outstanding balances owed to me because they keep making errors. I am still in the process of dealing with the sale of my property, and the mistakes keep piling up. Hilde was very patient and clear with all of her explanations to do with the paperwork. The Deprez office is located close to UBC and because of their UBC-based clients, Hilde and Filip know very intimately, the unique intricacies of dealing with the purchase and sale of UBC properties.
