Despite my living here in Vancouver for over 4 years now, I have never had any in-person interactions or transactions with BCAA. My insurance broker set up all my various insurance policies with various companies, and I've simply dealt with him directly. That said, my vehicle is insured through BCAA and I recently had to amend my policy, as my kid is visiting for the summer and I want her to be put on my car insurance policy (so I don't have to be her personal chauffeur for the next 3 months!). So my kid and I recently ventured into this BCAA office, not knowing what to expect. All I can say is, our experience here in this office was stellar. We were greeted at the door by a guy behind a "welcome" counter. We advised him what we were there for and he directed us to the small waiting area. The whole office was immaculate, open, bright and welcoming. I particularly appreciated the small sign affixed to a desk corner, facing the comfy chairs in the waiting area, that provided the free wi-fi password. Nice! (Little things like that are so helpful). After a 5-10 minute wait, we were beckoned to a counter where a guy assisted us with our insurance issues. I wish I had gotten his name. He was SO helpful and SO nice and SO patient, explaining stuff to me (there were some features in my current policy I was unaware of). No pressure to upsell me on anything, but he wanted me to know what some of my options were, and he was extremely patient in explaining to me how my policy worked, how to get my kid OFF my policy when she returns to university in the fall, and the upcoming changes in BCAA policies and rate when my policy renews in July. Also, he went over the packet of insurance papers I had been keeping in my car's glove compartment and told me there were some that should NOT be kept in my car, as they had some sensitive information on them (financial account numbers, and more). Yikes, these forms have been in my car since I moved here. This guy really went above and beyond for me. Super nice. We were in and out of the office in 20 minutes. The whole process was so efficient and smooth. Thank you, BCAA, for helping us out!

Home insurance claim. After having some difficulty with the adjuster I asked for a new one. Was told "sure manager will call you back today." Excellent right? A few hours later the call comes through: " can you tell me a bit about the reason you're asking for a new adjuster." East breezy. Start to briefly explain. "Surprise. It's me your old adjuster. And what you're saying isn't accurate" Then follows a brief "yes" "no" when I interject with, so am I getting a new adjuster. "Oh don't know. I'll talk to the manager." Great. Another day wasted trying to get a handle on things with my insurance company. My home had water pouring from the roof for 48 hours. It's currently unlivable. It's been a month. What other tricks and surprises could Bcaa have to make this experience more enjoyable. (Caveat: quoted dialogue is a dramatic representation. Bcaa records all calls in order to serve us better. Maybe they'll release other "surprise" calls in order to serve me better.)

I called *222 and was directed to an automated message which was clear and easy. The message said the technician would arrive within the hour which he did. He checked my battery and turns out I needed a new battery not just a boost. Thankfully he had one with him and I was ready to go within 30 min of him arriving. The yearly membership fee is well worth it when you are stuck and need quick service. Thanks Kit and #BCAA They also followed appropriate COVID19 safe work protocols which I appreciated.

well this may not be the exact place for this narrative, blog? contact us ? e mail? all I wanted to do ..is tell you the amount of stress your employee Eli, removed from my mind on weds night/thurs morning. I'll try and be brief. My 2004 Ford Escape literally died on me in the Britannia ice hockey rink..right when I pulled into a parking spot. played my game, gf picked me up, I called who I trust and who I KNOW can help. BCAA. I asked the dispatcher if a driver could tow my car from the Britannia parking lot, engine dead would not turn over at all..please, have him tow it to Discount Auto, where I just had a brand new , 6 year warranty battery put in ..just weeks ago! I know the mechanic and he will take care of it. but Eli ..[had to locate the key for my truck], hook the truck..after he started it] ..with his magic wand, and put my truck in front of Discount Auto..right in front of the front doors! made my call at 12:18am by 1:22 am he was done.

Bad experience trying to assess if it's worth making a claim for my portion of our strata insurance…read moredeductible. Staff repeatedly provided incorrect information and failed to answer questions. I can't imagine what it would be like dealing with them if it was anything complicated. Agree with other 1 star reviewers -- they're nice when you're buying but not great on the other end. Wendy McCracken below says I have already spoken to other staff. Yes I have, but no-one answered these questions: 1. Why was I repeatedly asked to fill out a proof of loss form, then suddenly didn't have to? 2. I understand other factors go into premium changes. I asked to know how my premiums would be affected by one factor only -- me accepting the amount I'm entitled to for the insurance deductible. That amount is ALREADY SET and won't change when the claim is finalized. So why can't it be calculated before a claim is made? 3. Why did Rahat say the insulation we ADDED (via special levy) we was just "repairs"? If your staff can't correctly interpret basic documents, I'm not confident you could manage a more complicated claim. I'm happy to change my review if these items are addressed. Thanks!
