I was introduced to my therapist Karly. Karly is an excellent, friendly, and caring therapist. She is very attentive, a great listener, prompt, and always accommodating. She takes the time to explain each exercise and how it helps and benefits your body. She tailors the exercises to your individual needs to help promote healing and recovery as efficiently as possible. Karly carefully gauges the appropriate amount of weight for each exercise and makes adjustments when necessary. She also provides different options, allowing you to choose which exercises are most comfortable while still being effective and beneficial. She monitors your progress during every session and keeps detailed records of your progress on her laptop. She continually evaluates your improvement and adds or changes exercises when needed to make your therapy more effective. I really appreciate her professionalism, knowledge, patience, and genuine concern for helping me improve. Karly goes above and beyond to make every therapy session productive and comfortable. Extremely frustrating experience with Central Oahu Physical Therapy in Aiea…read more When Central Oahu Physical Therapy received my referral for lumbar pain, I waited an entire month just to begin treatment. I was scheduled for four weekly sessions, with my final appointment on 3/31/2026, where the physical therapist was supposed to evaluate whether I needed continued care. However, it makes no logical sense to have an evaluation when there are no further appointments available with the same physical therapist until May -- over a month away. This completely defeats the purpose of the evaluation and continuity of care. I spoke with the telephone receptionist, who also acts as the office manager. Her primary role is reception, yet she presented herself as if she were a decision maker. When I asked to have the owners call me, I was told to look them up on the website. She is not an owner and cannot make final decisions. The owners never called me. Instead, Physical Therapist Erin deNeeve Baum, an employee of Central Oahu Physical Therapy, called and left a message. I chose not to return the call because I did not want to speak with her. Oahu is a very small business community, and in a situation like this, a professional and concerned owner would have made a courtesy call. That did not happen. This office appears to have a serious breakdown in communication between the physical therapists and the front office. Rather than coordinated patient care, it feels like a system where patients are moved through a set number of visits without clear follow-through or continuity. It gives the impression that the focus is on bringing in more patients and generating revenue rather than providing effective, continuous care After four visits -- the first being mostly measurements and only three visits with minimal exercises -- I am still not better. Quite frankly, this was a waste of time. A friend shared exercises given by her own physical therapist that have been more helpful. Also, with today's technology, you would expect more modern patient support. Instead of printed paper exercise sheets, there should be access to a digital platform with guided videos and progress tracking. These types of exercises are easily found online, which makes the lack of added value from this office even more disappointing. If you are considering physical therapy, do your research and look elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution against choosing Central Oahu Physical Therapy. You may end up frustrated, delayed in your care, and no better off than when you started. Patients deserve far better.

I drove him to the west ER where he was recommended to see Dr Morris Mitsunaga. We were told he was one of the best MD in town. We made an appointment for Tuesday (2 days after seen at the ER which was huge plus..Doctors these days are hard to get an appt with) and he was straight forward. As he reviewed CT/Xrays we were told my husband case was severe, and if surgery does not happen soon then he could be paralyzed especially because my husband was losing feeling on all his left side on body (hands down to his leg). We immediately scheduled for a procedure and was given a date/time of surgery a few days after. My husband was was explained that he was to do a C4-5, C5-6, C6-7 Decompression & Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion. His staff had told us that authorization frm his insurance was approved and everything was ready to go. His surgery was moved up a week earlier (another huge plus). Dr Morris always was straight to the point and said he may or not get feelings back which crushed our world. We could only pray and hope for the best. Day of procedure: We checked in Kinau surgery center. My son and I was able to come in back with him while he was getting prepped for surgery up until it was time. He was in the operating room for about 4-5 hrs (as Dr Mitsunaga explained). Once it was done, he came out and looked for us in the waiting room. He came out and shook my hand and updated us with how things went. When i heard him say "everything went successful" it was a huge relief. We were able to see him shortly after in the recovering room. Dr Mitsunaga said he may or may not have appetite and hoarseness due to approach of surgery (anterior), but it all depends on the patient. To my surprise, he was up, making jokes with the nurses, and asking to eat. He was alittle groggy but i could tell Dr Mitsunaga did a great job! We stayed IP for about 2 days and had to do f/up, PT, etc. Fast foward to 3 months later... My husband is walking and ALL feelings came back to normal. He is back to work FT and more happy than ever. He is pain relief and we owe it to Dr Mitsunaga. My family and I could not be more thankful for what he has done. Thank you to Lynette and Kris at his office for being so kind and assuring us as well.

I was looking for a bone doctor closer to home vs driving to town. After meeting Dr.Mariya O. I plan to switch to her. She is young, pretty and so thorough. Besides an X-ray of my knee, she also approved a wrist and hip X-ray while I was down on the 2 nd floor's Imaging Department. She hails from Bulgaria and England. She is great! She answered all my questions, went over every X-ray with easy explanations. She pinpointed where the aging of arthritis has set in and what treatments I can seek at home and medically. She administered a shot to my right knee( which made the hardest contact when my left foot Went like the White Rabbit down a hole in the ground) The soft tissue is still puffy like a marshmallow. She referred me to a hand specialist which made 2 nd point of contact to break the forward, downward almost belly flop propulsion to the ground. It's a wonder the Palisades neighborhood didn't feel tremors. As for my hip X-rays I asked her what's that black section that looked like bubbles at the top left corner. She said, that's gas in your bowel. Oh my- good one. Then she asked do you have pain in your groin? No I replied then thought... that's another story. I am very happy that Dr. Michael Chun(podiatrist) referred me to that office two days after the mishap and I fortunately have met Dr. Mariya O.to take care of me. She informed me that a new office will be coming to Mililani. Keep safe, take care and stay on sidewalks. watch out for holes in uneven yards camouflaged by a grass.

In November 2025, I prepaid several thousand dollars for PRP injections, but after surgery the plan changed and the doctor agreed a refund was owed for injections not received. This was never disputed. Despite that, it took about six months of repeated calls, emails, and office visits to receive the refund. I was told multiple times that the refund had been processed or mailed when it had not. I am sharing this so patients can be aware of the refund process before paying large amounts upfront. Although the Dr. blamed a bad billing company, I was always interacting with his office staff who were clearly communicating with him.

I saw Dr. Harris who I have to say was excellent. He took care of my broken foot and also injected my knee and my hip and solved some other issues. However, my broken foot was extremely painful. I took pain medication as per prescribed, I do not like pain medication so I tried to not take it as much as possible. However, at the beginning my foot was so painful I could not put any pressure on it or sleep however, when I needed more pain medication this office completely ignored me. I called several times and I was told someone would get back to me and they never did. I was without medication for an entire week and almost had to go to the emergency room, I just laid in my bed and waited it out until somebody called me one week later! When I told Dr. Harris what was happening he apologized. However, this same scenario repeated itself a month later I wanted to come in and get an injection in my foot so that I would not need any more medication, but I could not get an appointment and I also was having a lot of trouble walking, I called the office and asked for some pain medication and an appointment. They would not refill my prescription unless I came. I was ready willing and able to come in but I could not get an appointment! Then the doctor was going on vacation so I asked if I could at least get something to get me through the week so I could work and then I would come in. No answer. Then the doctor came back from vacation and I tried to get into see him but I could not get an appointment. I asked to speak to him on the phone and they said they would call me back and they didn't. He also told me to message him through the portal which I did, now it is Friday and I couldn't bear to go another weekend without any medication to help me walk. I messaged him in the portal. They read the message at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and no one ever got back to me. So here it is another weekend where I will have to lie in my bed because I cannot walk without pain. This is nothing short of malpractice, and I am disgusted with this office and their lack of communication. I saw another doctor in this orthopedic group several years ago for another broken bone and she was amazing. She always called me back when I called and she checked up on me after surgery. If I was in pain, she gave me advice and told me what to do prescribing whatever I needed in addition to physical therapy. As I said , Dr. Harris is technically very good and he seems to be a very nice guy, but his talents are wasted in an office with little to no communication. New hire, Alden took my temperature, blood pressure and weight then escorted me to Room #6. Dr. Fei soon entered. He's very easy to talk to and I was able to ask him questions I had concerns about. During my first visit I got a shot in my left thumb joint. Today I got shots in both thumb joints and decided upon surgery on my left hand after our summer Disneyland trip and in between child sitting the grand kiddies. Next time I see Dr. Fei may be in the operating room. The date of surgery was chosen on one of his Monday surgery dates and is pending authorization. Geoff will submit the request. I was told that even though we selected a date to have the thumb and carpal tunnel worked on I needed to be flexible cuz surgery could be cancelled from one week prior to the actual day of surgery. Oooh... pins and needles, needles and pins. Que sera sera. I changed my fur bebe's annual vet visit that was scheduled the same day. Fingers crossed things will work out fine. I was informed that the surgery is painful for about 2 months, plus the accessories of a splint and cast. Also recovery will take at least 6 months or more with physical therapy. I figured do it rather than prolong the decision. So much to look forward to so ...just get it done. If the surgery happens another star might be added.
