Icing for 20 minutes and OTC Tylenol advised as prescribed pain killers might delay healing. Dr. Inouye is very personable, easy to talk to, she said she doesn't do surgeries and goes every Tuesday to Straub Kapolei. We will continue to come to Pali Momi, Aiea. Return visit in two weeks with more xrays. First time that I can recall hubs will be off work for all 3 holidays this year. He is always working on holidays. Noticed alot of older patients in the waiting room because we all start having urine retention problems as we age. Urologists make BANK! Take note, future MDs. As an authorized advocate on behalf of my parent, I was at some appointments with DR. JAMES NG for a BPH issue that causes urine incontinence. By the time they hit their 70s, up to 90% of males have BPH! Father was on oral meds first (2 kinds) but they weren't working. Doctor finally recommended surgery. My father tried his best to research (on his own! With his limited English and computer proficiency) all prostate surgeries currently performed and had an idea of the best ones. When he asked Dr. Ng about the different types, the doctor coldly brushed off dad's questions and did NOT educate or inform dad on his options. He simply said, "I do the TURP. I would recommend the TURP. We don't do those other ones here." The Pali Momi Urology website states "Our urologists approach each patient's care with both medical innovation and sensitivity....to achieve the best results while minimizing pain and recovery time. [Our] urologists offer a multidisciplinary, innovative approach...committed to collaborating with experts across all specialties in tailoring the most beneficial treatment..." Your urologists are NOT medically innovative and do NOT educate your patients on the most minimally invasive procedures if they're ONLY OFFERING THE TURP which is painful and does involve risk of internal bleeds!!! They are definitely NOT offering multidisciplinary practices committed to collaborating with doctors in other specialities. WHY? Because I did research on my own and asked about a minimally invasive procedure offered by interventional radiologists called a PAE. No bleeding, less recovery time, costs less than TURP procedures too. The radiology practice I chose stated they needed a referral from dad's urologist. Called Pali Momi last week for the referral, only to get a follow-up call today stating that Dr. Ng will NOT provide the referral because "he doesn't recommend it". Ofc Dr. Ng won't recommend it. Our business and our MONEY are going elsewhere! Okay, they don't do PAEs because they aren't radiology doctors. Then, I'd love to hear what other surgical procedures are offered, HoLAP, HoLEP or PVP lasers? PULs? The office is refusing to provide the referral, fine. Then I asked them to make a note on my father's file that Dr. Ng refused to provide a referral to the radiologist and does not recommend PAEs. The office will not make that note in his medical file. I have to be more involved in my family's medical care. I cannot imagine the number of kupuna who don't have involved progeny or aren't tech savvy themselves AND cannot effectively self-advocate and make informed decisions. Our healthcare system is skewed to benefit the practioners and the insurance companies while we, the patients and consumers stay ignorant. Let me end with a note: There need to be more reviews on medical practices and doctors on multiple platforms for consumers, or if you want to be more specific, patients. Medical care is a necessity and we the patients, or consumers, are very VERY poorly informed on our choices. We have barely any right of choice because there is limited information for us to make educated decisions on who to seek for health needs. I guess this will end our relationship with Dr. Ng moving forward. This is why some patients are fearful to openly criticize or critique doctors on this account - burning bridges. But we all only live one life and Quality Of Life is very important to me and to my family to have. We should always aim to seek the best treatment possible.

I was looking for a bone doctor closer to home vs driving to town. After meeting Dr.Mariya O. I plan to switch to her. She is young, pretty and so thorough. Besides an X-ray of my knee, she also approved a wrist and hip X-ray while I was down on the 2 nd floor's Imaging Department. She hails from Bulgaria and England. She is great! She answered all my questions, went over every X-ray with easy explanations. She pinpointed where the aging of arthritis has set in and what treatments I can seek at home and medically. She administered a shot to my right knee( which made the hardest contact when my left foot Went like the White Rabbit down a hole in the ground) The soft tissue is still puffy like a marshmallow. She referred me to a hand specialist which made 2 nd point of contact to break the forward, downward almost belly flop propulsion to the ground. It's a wonder the Palisades neighborhood didn't feel tremors. As for my hip X-rays I asked her what's that black section that looked like bubbles at the top left corner. She said, that's gas in your bowel. Oh my- good one. Then she asked do you have pain in your groin? No I replied then thought... that's another story. I am very happy that Dr. Michael Chun(podiatrist) referred me to that office two days after the mishap and I fortunately have met Dr. Mariya O.to take care of me. His office never returned calls. They never told us that the entire office was going on vacation, otherwise we would've never scheduled the surgery at that time. Saw him FIVE WEEKS after surgery with no apologies. The gauze inside my ear was left inside for FIVE WEEKS! And when my husband and I saw him, he said the surgery was a success and he was able to remove the cholesteaoma (this was on Sept 17, 2018) I went to a new doctor on Oct 25 coz I knew I could never go back to Dr Mclaughlin and my new DR said that I STILL HAD THE CHOLESTEATOMA IN MY EAR (and proceeded to show me pics) Dr McLaughlin never showed me any before or after pictures, I just trusted his word So now I have to go through the surgery AGAIN! To start off, this office is busy.. so don't be surprised that there will be a wait to schedule. From my perspective, I see the hold time as more of a stamp of approval for a surgeon who is well sought after. And he surely is! Dr. Healy was on my radar for 13+ years before my surgery. After 2 children and the aftermath of breastfeeding, I have always wanted to correct the remaining "two problems"... haha! Of course, having cosmetic surgery is a huge decision, due to the risk and high price tag, so being extremely picky about your surgeon is the most reasonable thing to do. Now that I've reached my one year anniversary, I can say with full confidence - I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE FOUND THIS OFFICE! My gosh... I have read reviews for other surgeons and I am so grateful for Dr. Healy and his staff for holding up their end of the bargain. Every appointment was made according to doctor's recommendations and all appointments were calmly completed by Dr. Healy himself. And I didn't even mention anything about the surgery itself!!.. I currently see Camryn for my facials and Jun for my lip fillers. They are both amazing and very knowledgeable and they truly make me feel my best. I use to wear a bunch of makeup and did eyelash extensions for years but now I'm embracing my natural look and enjoying my natural girl era all thanks to Camryn and Jun!
