I'll update after my visit. I was looking for a bone doctor closer to home vs driving to town. After meeting Dr.Mariya O. I plan to switch to her. She is young, pretty and so thorough. Besides an X-ray of my knee, she also approved a wrist and hip X-ray while I was down on the 2 nd floor's Imaging Department. She hails from Bulgaria and England. She is great! She answered all my questions, went over every X-ray with easy explanations. She pinpointed where the aging of arthritis has set in and what treatments I can seek at home and medically. She administered a shot to my right knee( which made the hardest contact when my left foot Went like the White Rabbit down a hole in the ground) The soft tissue is still puffy like a marshmallow. She referred me to a hand specialist which made 2 nd point of contact to break the forward, downward almost belly flop propulsion to the ground. It's a wonder the Palisades neighborhood didn't feel tremors. As for my hip X-rays I asked her what's that black section that looked like bubbles at the top left corner. She said, that's gas in your bowel. Oh my- good one. Then she asked do you have pain in your groin? No I replied then thought... that's another story. I am very happy that Dr. Michael Chun(podiatrist) referred me to that office two days after the mishap and I fortunately have met Dr. Mariya O.to take care of me. She informed me that a new office will be coming to Mililani. Keep safe, take care and stay on sidewalks. watch out for holes in uneven yards camouflaged by a grass.

Extremely frustrating experience with Central Oahu Physical Therapy in Aiea…read more When Central Oahu Physical Therapy received my referral for lumbar pain, I waited an entire month just to begin treatment. I was scheduled for four weekly sessions, with my final appointment on 3/31/2026, where the physical therapist was supposed to evaluate whether I needed continued care. However, it makes no logical sense to have an evaluation when there are no further appointments available with the same physical therapist until May -- over a month away. This completely defeats the purpose of the evaluation and continuity of care. I spoke with the telephone receptionist, who also acts as the office manager. Her primary role is reception, yet she presented herself as if she were a decision maker. When I asked to have the owners call me, I was told to look them up on the website. She is not an owner and cannot make final decisions. The owners never called me. Instead, Physical Therapist Erin deNeeve Baum, an employee of Central Oahu Physical Therapy, called and left a message. I chose not to return the call because I did not want to speak with her. Oahu is a very small business community, and in a situation like this, a professional and concerned owner would have made a courtesy call. That did not happen. This office appears to have a serious breakdown in communication between the physical therapists and the front office. Rather than coordinated patient care, it feels like a system where patients are moved through a set number of visits without clear follow-through or continuity. It gives the impression that the focus is on bringing in more patients and generating revenue rather than providing effective, continuous care After four visits -- the first being mostly measurements and only three visits with minimal exercises -- I am still not better. Quite frankly, this was a waste of time. A friend shared exercises given by her own physical therapist that have been more helpful. Also, with today's technology, you would expect more modern patient support. Instead of printed paper exercise sheets, there should be access to a digital platform with guided videos and progress tracking. These types of exercises are easily found online, which makes the lack of added value from this office even more disappointing. If you are considering physical therapy, do your research and look elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution against choosing Central Oahu Physical Therapy. You may end up frustrated, delayed in your care, and no better off than when you started. Patients deserve far better.

Her shots really help before a trip if they are acting up. July 2022 an May 2023 I came here for pre and post surgery with Dr. Fei. I've had appointments with Shelby his nurse, Joelle his PA and had my cast done both times here too. There are several staff who check you in and my favorite is Jordan. Once your name is called your weight and vitals are taken. More employees sit just outside of the examination rooms. Today was my last appointment with Joelle. Thankyou and happy baby.

PA, Nurse and PT held class prior to surgery to prepare you for that day and care afterwards. I arrived at surgery center, checked in at 6:30 was in surgery at 8:30 and walking with walker after surgery by 2:00 and sent home. As you would expect the first few days were the most uncomfortable. I followed instruction on care and the appointments with PA and increasing my daily walks and now up to 2 miles a day at 8 weeks post surgery. Yes, I am still healing, there is some discomfort however each week is better as I grow stronger. Everyone has been friendly and professional through the process. Highly recommend Dr V as your Hip Replacement Surgeon and his team of medical professionals.

He's from Northern California and attended Medical school here. When I asked him if I could take a photo of him for Yelp he agreed saying, you're funny. You know the saying, old age is not for sissies? Boy, I'm convinced I'm an arthritis magnet. Dr. Fei went over my left wrist X-rays thoroughly showing me what was going on in two areas. We decided on a shot and he knew exactly where to touch for the carpal tunnel & thumb pain for me to say more than an ouch, more of a guttural yeowww! I'll go back in May. Have grandma duties, possible jury duty and a trip to hold off scheduling any surgery til later. Three months in a cast and 2 months in a splint takes some coordinating but I want to do it. Just worried cuz of COVID. I've been to this Bone & Joint Center 3 times now, once to bring hubs to Dr. J.I.when he fractured his shoulder in several places, once for my knee a couple months back and today for my hand. All 3+ times I am sold on their expertise and very down to earth, friendly bedside manner. Dr. Fei is referring me to a neurologist but that will be a future Yelp post. Take care and stay safe. Have a nice weekend.

From my very first appointment, I felt very disrespected and invalidated. I just wanted to put an end to the excruciating pain I had been dealing with as sophomore in high school at the time. He picks and chooses who he wants to be nice to. If your pediatrician referred your child to come here for issues regarding your child's spine health, please consider other places. Shriners Children's is an awesome hospital but watch out for him because apparently he works there now too. There was no improvement every appointment I went to because he has stated he doesn't have much experience dealing with my problem (2 lumbar disc herniations that caused a compressed sciatic nerve). So glad I have found another doctor. It has been 2 years now since I last seen Dr. Izuka, I feel much more secure and comfortable knowing I can see my new doctor and not be afraid. Also, there is also something very internally wrong with the lady that guards the toys. Why lay it all out there like that and expect people, especially children, to behave a certain manner?

I wish there were an option for negative five stars. We've had good and bad experiences with…read moredoctors like everyone else, but I never thought I'd have the worst experience imaginable--like the one we had this afternoon. First, the receptionist was horrible. When we walked in, the first thing I heard was her complaining to another patient, saying: "Thank you for asking if you can have a toy. So many parents just take it and don't even ask." I get it--she's frustrated--but was this conversation necessary, out loud, in public? This was my first impression, and it was far from professional. Next, I was given a form to fill out on behalf of my 16-year-old son. The receptionist told me to sign where it was highlighted, so that's what I did. She then rudely pointed out: "Ah, Mom. You missed so many questions." I apologized and explained that I thought I only needed to sign in the highlighted areas, and I offered to take the form back to complete it. Instead, she loudly asked invasive questions like: "Is your son adopted?" "What school does he go to?" She even made an unnecessary comment at the end, saying: "You failed--minus points for your mom." This level of unprofessionalism was shocking. For reference, this receptionist is extremely overweight, so you'll know who I'm talking about. Finally, we met Dr. Izuka. If I thought the receptionist was bad, Dr. Izuka was worse. He walked into the room and immediately started yelling at my son. My 16-year-old plays soccer and recently injured his knee during a game. Our pediatrician recommended seeing Dr. Izuka for further assessment and possibly an MRI, as nothing was found on the initial X-ray. All Dr. Izuka did was make my son bend down and touch his toes. My son isn't very flexible and could barely reach his toes. Dr. Izuka started yelling, saying: "WHAT THE HELL? You play soccer, and that's all you can do?" I was stunned. I've never experienced such unprofessionalism in my life. This wasn't constructive criticism; it was bullying. Dr. Izuka continued berating my son the entire time. He said things like: "You go to Kamehameha School, and you don't even know the answer to that?" This had nothing to do with my son's condition, and it was completely inappropriate. I was ready to walk out of the office right then and there. Long story short, all we got out of today's visit was my son being told to stretch, along with being insulted and humiliated. Don't ever go here. This was a complete waste of time and money, and I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone.
