Those metro areas are becoming saturated with juice bars and coffee shops, including many that are Aussie-inspired; now I totally understand why. They're trying to capture the magic I experienced at The Salt Mill, which nails it from lattes to avo toast to smoothie bowls. Most of my mornings started with a latte here (always satisfying), and I often supplemented with a filling bite after my morning workout. The avo toast is probably the best I've ever had, with a fantastic blend of spices (coriander!) and seeds adding a ton of flavor. The Coconut & Cacao açaí bowl with added peanut butter became my staple order, overflowing with goodness and tropical fruits. Even the chia pudding, paired with full-fat yogurt and some fruit compote (mango or raspberry) was a standout. Friendly faces, great vibes, excellent food, and a fantastic part of any day in Kingscliff.

My crowd loved the Asian omelette, the breaded eggplant, the mushroom dish and the corn fritters. This place has the monopoly unfortunately but if you just drive into Kingscliff ... 5 mins away ... your dining experience will be so much better. The Turkish sandwich I ordered (Chicken, aoili, sundried tomato and olive) was very small. I'm talking just over the size of my palm small. For $11, I do expect a SANDWICH. Not a kids meal. This place obviously suffers from the usual gallery cafe syndrome, overpriced food to compensate for paying the extra rent. Total was $18.70 for a tiny sandwich and coffee due to the Sunday 10% surcharge. I have to say that it wasn't worth the money. And, when you have customers waiting to pay money and there is a family chatting to the teller dude and going "Ooh aah I'll have a slice of that cake and um, oh Harold, what do you think?"*, it would be nice to at least look at the bored customer waiting behind them and say something. I did eventually get noticed by someone else and could pay but... Blah. Up the size of the food and pay attention to the customers. Fresh healthy breakfast options how ever you like it. I also had dinner which may have been a different chef as whilst the entree was good (also great oysters) the mains were not so great but I will go back and try again as the staff are amazing.
