Cold brew after the mixing - phenomenal!
    Rebecca C.

Buzzy breezy restaurant with great music spinning. Worth the wait. Try to get here by 10am to avoid too long of a wait. Must get: coconut cold brew - the best cold brew in Australia. Great with coconut milk and coconut flakes. I ordered the dukka eggs with toast, tomatoes, cheese, poached eggs and dukka (pistachio nut mixture). It was pretty good. The Chardonnay vinegrette is a bit sour for the poached eggs (which can use some salt), and the arugula salad has some yellow leaves. I would recommend trying something else. The hostess and wait staff are fantastic. Self serve tap water: Watch out your head when you are trying to use the water fountain. You need to reach down for the faucet and you probably will hit the shelf where the empty containers lie when you raise your head if you are not careful. The design need to be recalibrated to save a few bumps on the tourists' heads!

Place was full at 10am so we ordered coffees and waited for a table, this took 25 min. Once we ordered it took 30 min or more to get our food. The Japanese pancake was unusual but delicious as was the banana bread with hemp seed. They make their own almond milk but it wasn't to my taste. I didn't like their coffee but that's just me.

My greatest disappointment in eating here was that I was so full I couldn't explore as many other places as I wanted to. But it's hard to imagine anyone else would have beaten this resplendent lentil curry full of interesting vegetables and fruits and the (all too few, but nonetheless filling) toasted bread that came with it. The atmosphere was interesting as well, a very wooden multileveled space. They offered chalk to children to draw on the sidewalk. It certainly struck me as a place I'd want to return to, even though I only had time to try one dish.

Very fresh food! Interesting take on the ice coconut coffee.. reasonably fast service. Staff are very hipster and not very friendly but I guess that's part of the experience? We had the avocado on toast with added bacon and the egg scramble with the chilli feta. Both pretty good! Meals come as are - I asked to change the style of the eggs but they didn't allow it? Seems odd. Also can confirm that the below review is true - the avocado was still in its skin when served.

Falafel & eggs, coconut cold brews, and cheeseburger.

A group of 5 of us came here 30 mins prior to closing, nervous to get turned away, but they were happy to seat us! We ordered the falafel and eggs, cheeseburger, and coconut cold brews. Everything came out quickly and cooked well. The falafel and eggs had a beautiful presentation and tasted fresh and full of flavor. The cheeseburger...let me tell you...was the BEST burger I've ever tasted. Ever!! The entire table tried it, and agreed. If I were staying longer in Byron Bay, I would definitely come back for another. Also, the coconut cold brew was so amazing- I've never tasted better coconut coffee. 5 stars for sure!!

Great spot for breakfast, it felt like a top Melboume cafe but with a relaxed beachside vibe. Coffee was excellent, food was creative and tasty, service was friendly and efficient... what more could you ask for?

Turmeric latte / Golden latte $7

I was planning on heading to another cafe but couldn't help but notice the crowd that was overflowing from Bayleaf Cafe. So, of course, I need to see what all the buzz is and try this place out for myself. They have a very interesting coffee and food menu. I tried the turmeric latte after seeing this pop up all over in restaurants and it was "interesting". lol. Definitely an acquired taste, but I'm not going to knock any points off for that. It's a bit of a hipster staff and I'm okay with that. I like connoisseurs and passionate environments. So many great things on their menus to try that I'm looking forward to going back and exploring at another time. :)

    Piccolo latte ...so good

Looking for a good place to chill...have a good food and some tasty food. This place gets the tick! Service is casual however it works... there is a kind of bohemian feel. I really love the open air design. Coffees were good and the shredded duck special was enjoyable. We will come back and explore the menu further....

Uncovering local spots like Bayleaf Cafe is one of my very favourite things about Yelp. Bayleaf Cafe is off the main drag, so there's no reason we could have stumbled upon it ourselves, but upon reading about the in-house ground coffee, the sunny outdoor seating and the fantastic brekkie, I practically ran straight here. And I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere is rustic, warm and welcoming and our group practically tripped into this locals favourite. The all-day breakfast menu quicly won our hearts and we devoured in house banana bread, mushrooms wtih chilli and thyme scrambled eggs, and a sausage and eggs dish that involved fried potatoes, poached eggs and pepato. Of course it all came with the locally baked sourdough bread that was almost as good as the dishes themselves. It's worth visiting for the coffee and ambiance alone, but while you're there you might as well enjoy the fantastic all-day breakfast on the sun-drenched outdoor patio.

Probably the best cafe in the Byron Bay area. But because this is no secret, be prepared to wait for a seat - or if you are keen, you can always get take away and just go sit on the beach. So to start the coffee here is good. It is not the best I've ever had, but it is quite good. Specifically, as they have a lot of different types. If you get a chance you have to try to the coconut infused coffee. That's right coconut infused coffee - how can you go wrong? You can't. But even you want just an espresso, the coffee here is good. Now the food. Really good! To the point where I made sure that I would come back here for food. The mushroom toast is amazing! But the best thing is you are able to add pulled pork to any plate. And who doesn't want that. Also, the chillied feta is to die for. So in all cases the food here is fantastic. So, basically make sure you visit this cafe if you are in the area.

This place has got the best cafe food in town! We came for a late brekky and had some dukkah poached eggs, mushroom toast and cold drip. All tasted really nice. The environment is great. Must try in when in Byron!

    Coconut cold brew

It is definitely busy and had to wait a little to get a table but the service was great. The porridge was delicious and definitely recommend trying the coconut cold brew. also quite expensive but worth a try :)

Food is pretty good, but expensive. The staff was un-accommodating and provided poor service.
