I placed an order on the phone for pick up. It took the lady 3 minutes to take my payment, super quick. It was a 12$ order I tipped her 25% and asked her to please give me chips. I have sat down and eaten at this place before they give chips for free. She brought me my order with no chips. I went back inside and asked her for chips she tried to charge me $4.32 for chips that are literally free when you sit down. I should've just not tipped her anything and paid for her overpriced chips. Will never come back here again read more

I come here once a week for breakfast with co workers to have a meeting . I believe it's owned by 2 twin sisters very nice people. One does the register and the other the window . So dont think wow she's fast lol . And I believe the brother is the cook so family owned. The food is well priced specially for the portion. You will not be hungry when u leave. All the staff are really nice . Does help if u know just a little Spanish . Even if u don't no worries one of the sisters we'll come make sure your order is right . This place is not far from our neighborhood, but in the opposite direction from where we normally go, so we have come here a few times. The place is slightly out of the way, easy to miss, and not much to look at from the outside.... They decided to continue the theme inside as well, it's not very big but certainly has a cafeteria vibe to it. Some of the food is good, some of it is just okay. But what really gets me is that they literally have 3 different names posted throughout. The name of the restaurant is different on the sign on the door, on the menu, and on the sign outside... what's the name of this place? I couldn't tell you, and neither can anyone that works there. Be sure to pay attention to the price of your food. They have daily specials, but today we learned that sometimes the "daily special" cost MORE than the item on the menu. No, there was not any extra food added or anything special. On the menu, the entrée is $8.99; that same exact item was $9.99 as the daily special. Unfortunately, I could not see the board in order to see the cost. I took for granted that this establishment would not try to be so deceptive. Also, they actually charge for your basic Styrofoam to-go container. Who does that?! I will not be going back to this restaurant. We've been coming here for over a year now and in the beginning it was good, food and service but Reece fly we've noticed we've noticed it's gone downhill. As of today, it will be our last visit. Food took forever and then finally when it came out it came out in stages, the last person at our table receiving her order 20 min after everyone else! How crazy is that, order was not complicated, I just think they forgot the order until we asked about it! Then they bring out a mimosa in a flimsy glass that ended up spilling all over the table. Didn't bother to offer another one nor take off the last plate that came after everyone was done eating! Food was below average, enchiladas were cold and not tasteful. This place has a ton of daily specials, but I have only had their tacos. The place always has people in there eating from all over the spectrum. Food - I really enjoyed their Asada tacos. They are spot on with a ton of flavor that goes well with the cilantro and onions. Highly recommend getting this taco. Also had the beef fajita, but it wasn't on par with the Asada. It went well with their spicy salsa. Their breakfast tacos are really good and before 11AM are 3 for $3.25 Service - I only got mine to go the 2 times I've been there, but the lady at the cash register is nice and prompt with the order. She even filled up my water cup. Atmosphere - Small little restaurant that has room for a group. Typical SA Mexican restaurant with pictures and specials on the wall. Super cute place, decor was very cute. Food was surprisingly good for a Texas Mexican food. Prices for what we order was actually pretty decent. There were some items that I saw could be overprice, however I can't say anything until I try them, sometimes is worth paying the high price. The waitress was rushing us, and tried to get her attention several times which she disregarded, I had to ask another one to help us. Went for breakfast tacos. I ordered chorizo y huevo, machacado and ala mexicana. They were really nasty. I think the eggs are not fresh and is made in thin sheets. The chorizo was greasy and had a funny taste and the other two tacos lacked any flavor at all. Even the tortillas were bland. read more

Came and tried out this place in the recommendation of one of my coworkers. I kept hearing all of my techs talk of this place & when I asked about a good soup (I'm under the weather) they said "Cholula's has great Tortillas soup!" Little did I know how good it would be. The portion was huge, it was like a quart container and it was 1/2 full of chicken! The broth flavor was good-not greasy, not too much "extra stuff" thrown in to add texture & there was fresh avocado on top. You get a baggie of tortilla chips and either flour or corn tortillas with your order. I actually could finish it & brought it home where it didn't last, my hubby devoured it! I look forward to trying out other dishes they offer as if my techs (who eat all over town and in other cities) love it, it must be really good! read more

Soooo....it's a nice little place with friendly staff and good food! Open for breakfast and lunch, Cholula's offers daily specials in addition to its comprehensive menu. Everything I tried was well-prepared: flour and corn tortillas (both made "in house"); chips and salsa; beans and rice. I found the guisada de puerco - chunks of pork in a chipotle-spiked tomatillo sauce - to be both tasty and refreshingly unusual. Service is exceptional, portions are ample; and the $6.49 lunch specials (which include tea) are a good deal. In summary: the detour to get to Cholula's is well worth it! read more

The food has always been hot, fresh, and tasty. The prices and portions are very reasonable. The restaurant has a very colorful, cozy, low light, quiet atmosphere. Im not from here. I come here for work every couple of months. This place is right by my office. So very convenient for me to get some breakfast tacos in the morning. Ive eaten here everyday for 2 weeks besides on Sunday. Cuz they are closed. Everyday the same consistent food. Which is really good. Breakfast tacos are super good and their hot sauce red and green go perfect on them. Today like a few days this week I also ate lunch here. More consistently great food. Ive tried a few things on the menu now and I haven't had anything bad. I mostly stick to chicken stuff if you're wondering. Even if this place was out of my way Id still go. Its worth it. Should have been a zero star review. Only reason it get a one star is our server was nice. First off it's 8:15a on a Saturday and we are the only ones here. Place down the street is packed. Should have expected what happened next. The owner is sitting near and comes to ask if we need anything. My tortillas were cold and hard. Asked him for hot ones and if they had homemade tortillas.."he says they are homemade" THATS A LIE!! These are the worst store bought pieces of crap! Food is CRAP. WORST IN SAN ANTONIO!! Great food, normal Mexican restaurant pricing. Beans are DELISH!! Full of manteca like mom used to make them. Truly "refried" beans. Homemade tortillas, good, warm and fluffy. I had the chilaquiles, I'm VERY picky about my chilaquiles, this place made them very good. Traditional Tex mex style chilaquiles. Great service. I will definitely return when I'm in the area.
