What a great addition to Racine! My wife, son and I went for dinner on a Tuesday. Everything was delicious! The home made cardamom chai made me wonder if I have been doing it wrong every single time I've ever ordered a beverage. The garlic roti disappeared before I really knew what was going on. The Aloo Palak was my favorite. My son ordered the Hunza Valley Chap Shuro and that was my second favorite! We were told that this recipe comes from the Hunza Valley region and that many people eat this particular dish regularly. The Mutter Paneer was also very tasty! Was planning to go to a completely different place for lunch, but the name and signage of Chit Chaat caught my eye while driving be. Quick u-turn and I'm rewarded by the BEST samosa chaat!! The menu and daily specials were all super promising, but I just asked if they have chaat, given their name. The service is friendly and quick. The meal portion is really generous. The taste is awesome!!! Will certainly be back to try other stuff in the menu. read more

Our first visit - and won't be our last! My wife and I shared two small plates (Pani Puri and Bun Kebob) and the beef potato curry. All were very fresh and flavorful. The Naan cheese garlic flatbread is not to be missed! Staff is friendly, welcoming and more than happy to explain the menu to newbies. We've been wanting to stop in for some time and finally were able to do so Friday evening. We had starters and tea at the restaurant and took the main dishes home. We enjoyed the food very much and the potions were large. My impression is there is a slight Americanization of the dishes but it doesn't detract from the overall quality or taste experience. The service was very good and the staff are passionate about what the the restaurant represents in terms of a dining experience and the sense of community they have developed among the staff and customers. I highly recommend Chit Chat, we are lucky to have such a nice South Asian restaurant close-by. read more

This is a quaint and enjoyable restaurant. Don't go in expecting typical Indian food. The chef stated his recipes are more authentic to what people eat in India and Pakistan. No cream based sauces. Food is very flavorful. Good had nice heat/ spice to it, which is hard to find in Wisconsin. We got to have a great conversation with the chef. The only negative was the bone in chicken tikka was difficult to eat. Would have liked no bone or a thigh or breast portion. Other than that, loved the food. Going back for sure! read more

The food was good. I ordered a few different things. They have some things that you wouldn't find at a normal Indian restaurant. Admittedly, the food was really mild and definitely catered to a Wisconsinites pállate. Lol. The chicken tikka masala tasted more like a chicken soup. Just felt like it was missing spice and flavor. But again, this is coming from someone who orders dishes as hot as possible at an Indian restaurant. I wouldn't knock down a star because I don't think spice level should dictate whether or not you should try a restaurant. The dishes really were well executed and presented well. read more

Appetizers like Samosa are too oily, I appreciate that it is prepared in the kitchen but it does not look, feel and taste the way it is suppose to be. I would not rate one star for that. I will not compare with any restaurants near by but, I am well aware of the cuisine and it's palate even if it authentic or fusion. The service is good and the chef is polite but I will quote "miles to go before you sleep". I would also suggest to work more on the presentation of the cuisine. Usually herbs used in Indo-Pak cuisines are organic in general. It's hard to find inorganic herbs used in food. read more

I rarely give 5 star reviews but this is a food jewel in the area. The kitchen staff is amazing and put a lot of pride into what they serve and the front staff makes you feel at home. I think they think of themselves as a cafe that serves food, so check out the beverage menu. We have worked our way through the menu and have loved everything. read more

We stopped for lunch on a Saturday with our 17 month old grandson so we asked for an entree that could be done fast! We were served butter chicken with rice. It was a delicious plate and naan was a perfect side. Spiciness was perfect for my husbands palette but next time I will ask for less heat. There were so many options on the menu to choose from. It has been many months since I had the chance to visit Chit Chaat. I honestly have not gotten back to racine since the pandemic began. That being said, the lunch I had here was amazing. Amazing as in I still dream about the lunch I had back in January and I continue to dream of the chance to get back and eat here again. The food is spectacular. Had the pleasure of trying this place for the first time couple week ago. I'm rather new to this kind of fair, so I ordered butter chicken, samosa, and garlic cheese naan, same as I've tried before. The Butter chicken sauce had started to separate, but still tasted good and the chicken was very tender and not dry. Samosa and naan were great, better than I had tried before. I appreciated sauces, even if I didn't care for all of them. And when it came to rice mix... was a little spicy(love)... I was very glad to have the cucumber side. I have been wanting to come here since they opened! My husband and I finally visited last night. The food was amazing and the service was very friendly. In particular, the samosas were incredible. We did wait a little bit for our main dishes, but I think they were also filling orders for pickup. This is still during the time of COVID, so not many people are dining out. I do not hold this wait time against them for that reason. It is decorated in a subdued but beautiful style. Our only complaint is that the menus - neon print in an unclear font on a black background - were difficult to read. I was actually looking at their menu online with my phone, in order to see it more clearly. The waitress was all extremely helpful in helping us choose dishes. This is my favorite restaurant in Racine. The food is just as good if not better than any Pakistani or Indian restaurant on Devon Ave in Chicago. Fresh ingredients, wonderful spices, and so tasty. I'm am so thrilled to see this restaurant open up. I love Indian food and was thinking Pakistani food was similar. While I can see a lot of crossover, there is definitely a unique spin on the cuisine that is just incredible. Everything we've tried has been exceptional. My go-to dish is the Chicken Karahi (minus the cream) and it's unlike anything I've had before. So delicious! A couple other must-have dishes are the Chap Shuro, Pani Puri and the Anda Roti! Gave 3 stars as an average. The atmosphere and customer service I rate a 5. Very friendly and attentive to their customers. I ordered the chicken biryani for lunch. It is generally made spicy but the chef/cook came out to talk to be about the spice. Because I did not want extra spice in the dish or on the side, he brought me a sample to try. It was very good. I ordered to go but when I sat down to eat the dish (this is where the rating changes to a 2.5/3) the biryani chicken rice dish was full of bones and cartilage from the chicken. My first 5 bites were rice and inedible chicken scraps. There were no substantial chicken bites at all. Definitely not worth the price. Perhaps my order was the bottom of the pot but no one should be served scraps. I will give it one more try and see what I get. read more

This review is definitely a couple weeks overdue...I was visiting Wisconsin for a few days and let me tell you...as an LA native who is used to flavorful food, Wisconsin does not have much to offer. However, it was a miracle that I discovered Chit Chaat. I had never tried Pakistani food before so I figured I'd try it out, and boy I was not disappointed. I had the butter chicken and the spinach and mushroom dish and the flavor was absolutely incredible. Everything was bursting with flavor and you could tell it was cooked with so much care. I also had the turmeric chai latte, amazing! Super delicious with a kick of spice. Not to mention, I had come in 10 minutes before closing with my family, and the owners were kind of enough to let us stay and treated us so well considering we made them stay longer than they had planned. I don't know when I'll be back to Wisconsin, but if I ever return Chit Chaat will be the first place I visit. read more

We came to the area for charter fishing and were starving afterwards. Found this place on google and picked up food for our drive back to chicago suburbs. Chicken chaat burger, lamburger, samosa chaat and everything is very delicious (writing review as we devoured this deliciousness.. and I never write reviews btw). This is one of our absolute family favorites & we eat here regularly. There are few foods I "crave" (cuz I love all foods & trying new foods) but Chit Chaat is one of the few. I have eaten at every Indian/Pakistani restaurant in Madison, and almost all of them in Milwaukee too, but would choose Chit Chaat every time!!! The 'Chana Chaat' is a vegetarian dream, so flavorful, warm, spicy - I wake up thinking about it, like a crazy lady. My partner loved the lamb & goat dishes. Love this place. Had the chicken tikka masala today and it was amazing! Very good portions, beautiful presentation. I also loved the yogurt sauce that came with it too. Ordered to go during the covid-19 lock down. Called to discuss menu ingredients for a food ingredient issue and then ordered off of the on-line menu. Specified the time that we would like to pick up our order. Food was ready, was brought out to our car (no touch per covid-19) and we took it home.
