After years of crappy service, they have finally bottomed out. I went there around lunchtime and there was only one person at the counter. It was log-jammed and nothing was moving. Never mind they had TWO guys selling money (exchange) and TWO guys selling biscuits and chocolate. Only one broken person selling post office. So I complained. They asked me not to come back. Chiswick post office became and even more widely discussed when Sheila Hancock (a Chiswick resident) famously put the place into Room 101 on the popular TV series of the same name. On entering it's advised to take your jacket off as you approach the slow moving humungous queue that greets you inside the door. You're in for a long wait, and yes they've put the heating on highthat with your boiling blood pressure as you become more stressed as the minutes tick past, you'll be glad of the advice! The staff are unhelpful and few speak good clear English which really doesn't help when you are asking their help when filling out a complicated form. If you want foreign currency, avoid the queue, head straight for counter 7 at the end. If you have a parcel that's got the right postage, don't queue, just drop it off on the counter by number 1 After too many wasted hours of standing in the queue wandering into a self inflicted trance whilst staring at the glittering crystal figurines in the rotating cabinet, I finally embracing the pure genius that is online postage, meaning that all I had to do was walk past the queue to drop off my packages whilst being glared at as though I was jumping the line. I have rediscovered my small local post office which had recently had a makeover, so let's hope they don't shut this one too like the others in the High Road I will add a note that the guy who works in the parcel collection office next door, is brilliant, if only they were all like that! read more

The Chiswick post office is not my local one, THANKFULLY. But I do have to use it from time to time as one of the offices I work with is located in Chiswick. The staff here are extremely rude. The woman I was called to yesterday barely even looked at me during the transaction and I had to ask her questions, including how much I owed. She also was more interested in what her colleague was doing than serving me. And just two days before I had several packages to mail and that teller too was not interested in me being there. If you have other post office options, use them as I will wait and mail my packages on a weekend at my local one. Perhaps the staff at the Chiswick Post Office would be happier if they chose to close this branch and be without a job as they don't seem to want to be there. read more

We had during the Christmas period a bunch a lot of mail to bring to them. Hubby did. I asked my husband to emphasize that we would like for the UK mail only second class. He came back with one receipt, where we had mail also for the USA, Portugal & Spain and guess what: the UK mail was charged at first class. Obviously we got a long list receipt with all mail together and ONE PAYMENT. just saying: please double check your receipt. Extremely rude old lady by the counter at the back behind the window. It's been the third time I was serviced by her and she is very impolite and unprofessional. I am not the only one, in the queue there were people who said that they had bad experience with her as well. I am surprised that she works at a place where you have to communicate with people non-stop. Seems like she must be a relative to someone, otherwise there is no way with an attitude like that you would be able yo keep a job like that. read more

I went to this office yesterday and vowed never again! There was only 1 post office teller during lunchtime with a queue of around 20 people. She was highly arrogant, rude and unhelpful! I felt like I was a burden by just trying to find out the cost of recorded delivery for a parcel. I really felt offended and I don't expect the red carpet treatment from anyone, neither am I sensitive but this woman needs to get some manners when dealing with people or work elsewhere in the post office. I shall never use this place again, nobody has ever been helpful or polite but today was the last straw, the dirty looks given by this woman were positively offensive! Why? I understand we all have bad days but she was going out of her way to be nasty. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! read more

We are the residents of Thorneycroft House, Fraser Street, Chiswick, W4 2 DB, London, asking you to deal with the delivery of our correspondence. The fact that for nearly six months, mail delivery is extremely neglect, careless and almost never drops into our mailboxes. The postman leaves all our mail directly to the main entrance on a shelf or on a window sill, so that many of our letters are lost. Several times, we have complained verbally to the department of Delivery and they promised us to sort it out, but still our letters not delivered to ours doors, but they get left on the window. This is possibly one of the worst post offices I have used - and, I add, this review is based on a lot of visits. However, it was this week that finally tipped the scales into ABYSMAL. Not only was I given the wrong information, but it took almost an hour to get served before I was informed. The girl was rude, ill-informed, lazy, and clearly does not know her job. She really could not have cared less. To add insult to injury, the post office now looks like a low-budget horror show filled with convenience store goods and down-at-heel products. I have learned to dread using Chiswick post office, due to the slow moving queues and unhelpful staff, who seem to share an unparalleled love of bureaucracy and a desire to make the simplest of requests unimaginably complex. When asked to confirm a postal charge, one always seems to be quoted the most expensive method of sending something, even if the enquiry was for the most cost-effective route. Typically this only becomes apparent once payment has been made and one notices that the stamps/parcel labels state first rather than second class. I particularly dislike the fact that when taking in a small parcel, or something in large letter format, the clerks behind the counter (one in particular) will give your bag/envelope a good shake, so whatever's inside it slides down to one end. They will then take pleasure in lowering into the letter size-gauge and telling you that it's not a large letter, but a small parcel, that will cost you three times the price to post. This has happened so many times, that I now take my own gauge with me to demonstrate that as originally presented and without all the shaking about they like to do my packages, they ARE large letters. My dislike of Chiswick post office is now so acute that I would rather queue for longer elsewhere than have to use it. I had so many bad experiences with Chiswick post office. I think their stuff is not trained properly and post man doesnt know what he should do. People are waiting in their off day for the parcel or letter and he hears that people are inside the house so he doesnt even ring or knock the door, its easier for him to leave red note and leave. This is so so annoying. I have been there few times and asked them why they r doing that.They have prommised to change, well still the same. read more
