I wanted to experience the natural process of labor and I wanted to bring my child into this world in a peaceful manner. I am so happy with my decision. Annemarie was an amazing midwife. Every prenatal visit lasted at least an hour. She answered all my questions and concerns. She offered me tons of advice on nutrition and suggestions on what supplements to take to help with various pregnancy issues. She explained the birthing process in great detail so that I knew what to expect. I knew that I could depend on Annemarie to guide me through labor and delivery. During my pregnancy when a problem came up, she was quick to order blood work and did not hesitate to refer me to a doctor when the results were out of her expertise. I appreciated that. It was clear that her main priority was the health and safety of me and my unborn child. Three months before my due date our family moved out of Marin. I didn't think Annemarie would still be able to continue services but she was committed. This meant that she had to drive three hours to and from my house. During my labor she knew when to give me space and when to offer support. Even though she had arranged for a local midwife to assist her with my birth, labor progressed so quickly that she had to work solo. I was amazed at how quickly and effortlessly she handled everything. She delivered my baby, checked vitals, cleaned, gave me stitches, packaged the placenta. Over a year ago, I became pregnant with…read moremy 1st and about halfway through my dr. visits, I had Dr. Cardellini because my regular dr. was not available. I was so impressed that I made sure I saw her each time going forward and that she would deliver my son, Drake. I consider myself a high maintenance on the crazy side patient (low pain tolerance, asks a lot of questions) and I have sensed frustration with other doctors who have had me as a patient but not Dr. Cardellini. She has a warmth about her, an authentic concern. The main reason I switched to Dr. Cardellini is I feel she is really flexible with her opinions. She definitely knows her stuff and will express it but she listens to me and is willing to consider the emotional side of things and to even risk judgement of her peers (which is extra impressive considering she is "newer" to the group) and support her patient in choices that may not be the norm. For instance, the group agressively wanted to induce me and she listened to me and eventually became supportive in my decision to take things a bit further, even though it was not the 'standard' expected route. She is not a risk taker, in fact more on the conservative side - BUT she is willing to hear out the patient and take things on a case by case basis. I am not sure this is the norm within the group. I feel very at ease with Dr. Cardellini. She delivered my baby and yet gave me all the credit. I think my delivery was a success (despite 28 hrs of labor!) because of her presence which gave me confidence. Plus she laughed at all my husbands nervous jokes and attempts! Dr. Cardellini is a breath of fresh air to this otherwise (in my opinion) semi-stodgy practice. She warms things up there and maybe, hopefully, the others will take notice and start treating patients more like people with warmth, approachability and open minds. p.s. I must add - since I have been a patient over the course of 10 years the front desk has drastically changed for the better. They are friendly on the phone and quickly get back to you on things and seem to be happier with their jobs, therefore more friendly with the patients.

Now being treated as a new patient as I had not cared to be blown off for another meet and greet and to wait until I actually needed a doctor. Did research and found another more attentive internist. Will be seeing the new doctor at another practice from here on in.

Under the care of Born Wild, I had my dream home birth and felt empowered and incredibly safe and calm from start to finish. They are extremely pro-life despite what they may try to tell you. Which is fine- everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. My issue is that they pretend not to be. I called to make an appointment after finding out I was four weeks pregnant. It was not a planned pregnancy and at that time I just wanted to to find out if it was viable. I wanted to know the health of my fetus and myself. When I called to make an appointment- I asked every question you could think of to gauge what kind of clinic it was. I learned very quickly that all of the answers I received from their office manager Robyn was a very rehearsed lie. To try to sum it up- They tried to talk me out of genetic screening- said it was unnecessary and they did not recommend it. They said the state of California legally forced them to mention it but it wasn't important. They came off as bother and upset with me when I said I still wanted the tests. And then they would not take no for an answer on my initial visit - they kept pushing me to take home a new parenting kit with diapers etc. I was only four weeks pregnant and I did not to be put in that awful situation. Their efforts of trying to guilt me into what they wanted never stopped. They FORCED me to listen to the heartbeat because they said they did not not know how to turn the volume down. Which I came to find out is illegal. They also tried to force me to watch an ultrasound because again they said they did not know how to turn the *tv* screen off. I then asked them if there was a remote and to hit the power button. It was that easy. I mentioned their office manager Robyn .. .. To get into what she has done still blows my mind. She instantly became too familiar with me. She would demand very personal information and act as if she held a medical degree. Which that clinic allows her to be in that position of power- the doctors that I saw were elderly and seemed to be out of touch and I felt maybe they were being manipulated. Then there was the ultrasound technician who was from England she actually told me she's not technically registered to do ultrasounds in the US- but there's a loophole so she is able to work under the umbrella of the clinics other doctors. She was also the one who could not figure out how to turn the the heartbeat off and forced me into listening when I was not ready. Anyways the office manager Robyn attempted to act as the go to person between myself, doctors and pharmacists. So unprofessional and uncomfortable. She became hostile with me a few times when I voiced my complaints. I told her I would not be coming back. She went from leaving me angry voicemails to this.. A week or two later I just happen to bumped into her outside my new doctors office. Okay awkward but I let it go. She ended up texting me later that night about it. I don't answer. Some time goes by .. I get texts from her asking if I need maternity clothes. I don't answer. More time goes by.. she looks me up on Facebook and starts liking my pregnancy photos. I block her. The last communication from her was in December asking if I've had my baby. I did not answer. This place prays on people they perceive as weak. ****I know anyone going to this clinic probably is not in the ideal position- I actually get it. I was in the same spot. Its a difficult and confusing situation that I got myself in. BUT this place really made it so much worse. They tried adding unnecessary guilt and stress. The advice they give is really really shitty and based off their religious beliefs. ****

It was incredibly thorough, Hattie answered all the silly little questions I had as a nervous expectant mom, and the environment was casual, soothing, and conducive to learning. If you are interested in a drug or intervention free birth experience, I recommend giving Hypnobabies a try and learning the techniques for self-hypnosis and relaxation. The curriculum really involves partners as well, which makes for a true family birthing.

She is highly organized and very responsive. I also loved the online mom support groups with different topics covered each week - these were so helpful! For the doula services, Alana was wonderful. She is very laid back and easy to talk to while also being super knowledgable and attentive. I wasn't sure if I was going to try to have a natural birth or get an epidural and I felt like Alana was ready to support me no matter what option I wound up choosing. Also, my husband tends to be very anxious around any medical or hospital setting so we weren't sure if he would be able to be with me for all of labor and delivery. Our meeting before birth was great because Alana was able to listen to his concerns and talk him through what L&D would be like so he wouldn't be so nervous. We only wound up being able to have one pre-birth meeting because my baby decided to show up 6.5 weeks early! Thankfully, Alana was able to meet us at the hospital within an hour of my husband calling her (around 3am??). My labor proceeded very quickly and we were both overwhelmed because we had not anticipated having our baby that early. Alana remained a calm and consistent presence throughout my labor and for a while after delivery after they took my baby to the NICU. She was also able to ask the nurses and doctors questions we had completely forgotten to ask and kept us up to date with everything that was happening. My husband wound up being able to stay for most of L&D and I think a lot of that has to do with Alana being there - we both felt fully supported the entire time. We had three post-partum sessions with Alana and they were also incredibly helpful. I would definitely recommend her to others and would love to work with her again if we wind up having another baby (hopefully closer to my due date next time, hehe)!

After my delivery, she checked in a couple of times and a year later, called me to check up on my health, how my baby was doing, and to wish me a happy holidays. If your insurance covers her services, I can't recommend a better doctor!
