5*Absolutely excellent behind the counter and a thank you to Wes and Elena. 2* for the cost of a 5" small wrapped chicken burrito and yes, Size does Matter when you're paying as much as I did today. One maybe teaspoon of guacamole $2.95 WT heck? Hard to say if I got charged for a small amount of sour cream or not? I added black beans, lettuce and wasn't asked if I wanted to add corn. Just as well LOL I did enjoy the Taste of the chicken burrito it was tasty. So, happy there were no onions in it like the last place up the street. The mild tomato salsa was also good. I decided to have a Mexican Coke right from the bottle was delicious after walking over a mile today. The cost for this small burrito was with Coke $19.02. Horrible price point :( So I decided to stop by Chipotle since I haven't been here in a while. The food itself was good and the place was clean, staff was friendly. My only issue was the price. I got a bowl and it came out to $18.21, which feels really high for what I got. I asked for half steak and half chicken, but I was charged an extra $4.20 and honestly the portions for both were pretty small. I'm on a diet and a calorie deficit, so this was meant to be a quick bite -- but for what I paid, I don't see the value. I can easily make the same thing at home for less. Overall, not a bad experience, just overpriced in my opinion. Would I eat here again? Probably not, but that's just me. You guys can check it out for yourselves. read more

Apparently, this Chipotle closes at 10:56 PM instead of the posted 11:00 PM. I don't understand why they advertise being open until 11 if they don't actually stick to it. I showed up before closing, only to watch the employee lock the door just as I arrived. He didn't say anything -- just pointed somewhere else and turned me away. I could've easily gone to Panda Express, which is also open until 11 and actually honors their posted hours. Instead, I wasted my time and left without dinner. If this location is going to close early every night, they should update their hours and save people the frustration. read more

Had a craving for Chipotle bowl, it's been over a year since I've had one. Located the closest one near me. Late afternoon on a Wednesday was the perfect time to come only a few people dining in. We got two bowls, one with steak and the other with carnitas. Bowls were loaded with deliciousness. Definitely enough food for two meals each bowl. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The best part when leaving was a young man arrived with his mother and he held the door for me. So refreshing to see the young generation with manners. read more

I went here on my lunch break, ordered the kids meal with 2 soft steak tacos. I get back to my office and realize I was given 2 tortillas with a side of sour cream, cheese and hot sauce. No meat at all. I ended up spending my remaining lunch break walking back over and when I explained the situation to the cashier she says "So would you like a side of steak?" A side of steak? It's not a side, it's literally what the meal is. Just very frustrating. I've frequented this Chipotle many times for my lunch break and never had an issue but I won't be back. After walking back and forth from Chipotle twice, I was left with 5 minutes to scarf down my food. Major bummer. read more

I stopped in this Chipotle with a few friends. I had the new Garlic Guajillo Steak" in a bowl with brown rice, black beans, peppers & onions, cheese, lettuce, and some salsa and a side of tortilla chips. I was shocked when I was a little astonished when I was charged $15 and some change for the lot. Prices have sure gone up since last time I have visited a Chipotle pre-pandemic. The bowl and with the steak was okay. The meat had decent flavor but as your know, when protein such as this, sits in a warmer for a while, it does tend to get a little tough, and that was the issue here. The simply needed to be more tender and not so dry. The rest of the ingredients were good. The rice and beans were well seasoned and tender, and the green salsa was tasty. The bowl was good eating with the tortilla chips, but would of spend $15 again on this such meal, probably not. I could get a lot better food for $15 elsewhere. Service was very robotic. It was hard to get some friendly interaction or conversation. read more

I wanted to leave this review because I had a GREAT experience. I have been to this location a few times and honestly I have a positive experience every time. Pretty rare for a Chipotle. Tonight, the gentleman preparing our order was very kind and paid extra attention to the details. He took out some of the grisly pieces in my carnitas-- most people would just leave it. It made a difference for me. He is also really good at getting the guacamole to be evenly distributed in the burritos! When they put meat on my bowl today, I kind of saw that it was a skimpy amount, so I requested extra meat, only for them to put half the amount of meat I got the first time--it was $6 for that. IN THIS ECONOMY? The serving of meat I got was the same amount I would've gotten in a normal serving at Chipotle's I usually go to. I'm just trying to eat healthy and high protein. Used to come here quite often but quality has gone downhill and so has portions. Once before I got charged for double meat when I only got a single portion, and again the manager thought I got double meat today when really they didn't even give me a big single scoop. He proceeded to tell the employees to "cut down portions, like a lot" not what I want to hear from a place that already has been getting a reputation for skimping. I assume it's corporate getting on them for portion control, but tbh I think now I'll just start hitting the local taco shops that actually give generous portions and taste better. Especially knowing that they don't plan on getting any better with portion sizes. Shame, chipotle used to be a go to spot for me, this isn't what their founder would want either. They're a little bit stingy with their portions here This Chipotle is located in the heart of Hillcrest on a busy corner. You can't miss it, but it's easy to miss it's parking lot. It's on the left side of the restaurant, next to FedEx. So I got a veggie bowl and had mixed feelings about my order. Normally when I go to other Chipotle locations, the portions are good and guarantee (at least for me) that I'll have a hearty heaping of leftovers for later. Here, however, it wasn't packed to the brim as usual. I also noted that the white rice was VERY salty. Borderline inedible and I pushed a lot of it to the side to avoid eating it. My husband and I went to Chipotle at 11:30 am on Saturday 7/05 and they must have just started reserving the previous days leftovers. We ordered 2 carnitas bowls with a side of chips.....The carnitas were nothing but grizzle pieces, no real meat and the chips were definitely from the day before....completely stale and we couldn't even finish them....The worst $38 meal I have ever had......Don't go early you may get the previous days leftovers reheated....Yuk.... read more

I highly recommend their new seasonal brisket quesadilla with guac (my new addiction) but do yourself a favor and do not, I repeat, DO NOT order online. It was terrible. My family really enjoys Chipotle. It's one of very few places we can all easily agree on. We live in the Point Loma area and naturally had been going to that location, but the quality and experience have been going downhill for a while and finally became unbearable, so we decided to start driving pretty out of our way to this location on University. The difference is night and day. In Point Loma we consistently encountered long lines, a sloppy/dirty restaurant appearance, unfriendly/argumentative staff, poor food quality (i.e. the chips rarely had any lime or salt flavor - just tasted like cardboard), they were often out of certain items and would neglect to share that until at the register, the list goes on... The location on University has friendly helpful staff, the chips are great, it's clean, they work with urgency so the line doesn't back up. We will continue making the drive past our local restaurant for a far better experience. I hope corporate sees this and rewards accordingly! read more

I've tried to give this place SO many chances due to the fact it's close by and therefore convenient. I've also been a huge chipotle fan since the start of the franchise. This location is a disgrace to the restaurant's reputation and really needs a re-evaluation from corporate. Every time you come here there's a new set of employees, the tables and chair are constantly dirty, hot sauces are dirty and often empty, utensils are out in the open and every single time I've been here an unhoused individual is rummaging through the area, often sticking their dirty hands into the utensils you will be eating from! Surely there is a better place to put these items. On top of all of this, the food is under par 9/10 times. Whole tray of guac was brown last night and the cashier told us "yeah it's been really slow today".... I wonder why? Just go to another location or support a local business. read more

Shoutout to my guy "Marco"! I've literally been to almost every chipotle in San Diego and he by far makes the best burrito bowls. Corporate let me know who I need to reach out to for my guy to get a raise! To explain, it was typical Friday night after a long day at work. I ended up at chipotle because I ran out of meal preps but still wanted to make Gainz. So It was either "Chipotle or In n Out", which is a no brainer. I arrive at chipotle, walk in and when I get to the front of the line... Marco walks out the back, puts hand sanitizer on then throws on some gloves. At that point, the cleanliness aspect is checked so we're off to a great start. Then while making my order (I asked for a steak bowl), he realized that there was only about 8-10 steak pieces left that were old, dried out and not the way to go. Before I was able to say anything (would of mentioned can I get some fresh steak), he looks up and says I got you. At that moment, I knew Marco was a real one. From there he goes to the prep area behind him used to make online / pick up orders and gives me some fresh steak. Why is that so important, you ask?! Well, I've been to chipotle on numerous occasions where employees will give you that bottom of the barrel dried out steak and what's left from a full batch. So I truly appreciate that Marco. When I acknowledged what he did and thanked him for it, he said "I make my customer burritos bowls, how I make mine". Marco, chipotle needs to adopt and coin that phrase after you and use it as their next marketing push because I think that's how all employees should view making food for customers. Make it as if you're the one consuming it. Appreciate the great customer service and experience man. Overall Marco is a great employee and a great additional to the team! First off, I love Chipotle and will probably give this place another chance...But tonight's steak/chicken burrito bowl was the most questionable food I have ever had. The cilantro lime rice was undercook, some bites were still a little hard. The steak was extremely overcooked and rubbery... like....I might actually still be chewing it right now cuz it's stuck in my teeth. Not a fun post dinner activity. Worse I found piece of what feels like charcoal, but it's not, when I was half way finished with it. (Pic attached) It was black and brittle and should not have been in there. Great food at a decent price. We always order through the app, which makes pickup a lot quicker! There's times where they fill your bowl to the brim, other times where they're very conservative and give you close to nothing. One of the associates, Tatiana, is always kind to me during my visits. The only reason why I'm giving them 4 stars is because they took away their curbside option! Parking is hard to find and I utilized the curbside pickup, and to learn that they took that option away is frustrating. read more
