Overall: Food: 4 Egg Rolls: Lackluster, I probably wouldn't order it again but nothing wrong with it. Salt & Pepper Calamari was crispy but not greasy. It had the right amount of saltiness. The peppers were not too spicy so someone that can't easy spicy food (me) was able to enjoy it. Beef Fried Rice: The dish was well cooked with non clumpy rice. The only thing that I didn't like is that the beef was not stir fried so it had a char, so it felt almost liked boiled meat. Alright, this one took me a while to get to. I'd like to still be able to get in the door to eat! Highly highly recommend. All of it. If you are a vegetarian- there's a plethora of options for you! Right after placing my order in store to go, an older woman got right in my face and said "The food is amazing, trust me!" Wow, she was definitely right. The food was SO good! I wasn't feeling the best so we decided to order take out and eat in the hotel. Asian seemed like a great choice and reviews and proximity brought us to Chinshan. We ordered online and went for pickup. The original time was about 45 min out and unfortunately, that was updated to a shorter time via email, so check your spam because we missed the update. That said, we picked up our food after it sat for 5 min but when we brought it home, we popped out plates in the microwave. We ordered chicken fried rice and egg rolls. The chicken fried rice was excellent. The chicken pieces were huge and very tender. It could have used some more veggies but it was still quite tasty. Egg rolls were crispy and delicious. I was craving something Asian (as I usually am) and stumbled across a couple Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants. I really wanted chow mein or some sort of pan fried noodles so I chose this place. I got vegetable chow mein and an order of egg rolls. Oh my - was it delicious. I ordered to-go and my order was ready within 20 minutes. I got there and paid and waited just a couple more minutes. I was able to get a bottled drink to go as well which is always nice when you order takeout (and staying in a hotel) so you don't need to make an extra stop. The place was welcoming, big parking lot, and clean. The stir fry was lightly flavored and fresh. The noodles were perfectly crisp. I was hoping for a thinner egg noodle but this was still very good. My six-year old loves the egg fried rice that comes with no vegetables, the Pad Thai is second only to Pad Thai Cafe and beats all the other Thai restaurants. The Chinese food is good. The search for a new place brought us here. It was fairly busy with a short wait for a table to be cleared. In fairness there are only 14 tables and a large group was occupying 3 of them. Drinks ordered and served, now time for selection. We got the Lemon Chicken & Mongolian Beef lunch plates both with Wonton Soup. Soup arrived 1st, hot with an overly peppered broth, green onions and a couple of wontons. Followed shortly by the entrees. The lemon chicken was hot, fried like sweet & sour chicken, but with a tangy lemon sauce. I'm more preferential to sliced patty style but I liked the not too thick lemon sauce on this. The chicken was also very tender. The Mongolian beef wasn't overly spicy and was tender. It was also loaded with mushrooms, onions & green onions. Definitely tasty. The service left a lot to be desired. Our server never rounded on us after the meals were served. Even the check was placed on the table without comment. We were seated at a 6 person round table that was being used as a central location for plates, silverware etc, so the 2 servers were there frequently. Not once did they make eye contact with us and left as fast as they came in. When I tried to get someone's attention as the stopped I was ignored. The food was great but the service was lacking. We had gone to the portal to hell (Walmart) and noticed this restaurant in the parking lot near the dollar store. We decided to try it out and my wife and I were so happy we did. The restaurant is a little small yet there seems like plenty of seating inside. Everything was nice and clean and they had full covid restrictions still (June 5th, 2021). The menu is a little overwhelming with almost 100 items to choose from. We usually go to Yummi House for Chinese so we ordered dishes we get from Yummi to compare. Wow. Everything tasted SOOO fresh I couldn't believe it. It tasted like they had a garden out back, picked the vegetables right after we ordered, cut them and cooked them. No mistake the food is really good but make sure you're ok with taking some attitude. I placed a To-Go order this evening. I was told it would be 35 minutes. I arrived to the restaurant early and asked to add another item to my to-go order. The owner ? - older lady was upset but modified my order. She said it would be 30 minutes. I thought I'd sit down and have a cup of soup and some tea while I waited. I kindly told the older lady that I wanted to sit down and order some food. She got upset (again) shook her head and told me to "sit at small table." I sat down facing her and she was still shaking her head at me. I got back up and told the waitress that I guess she doesn't want me sitting down to eat (what business owner doesn't want more business?) I don't want to eat anyone's egg drop soup with the owner giving me dirty looks. We've also come in before 20 minutes before their posted closing time and been shooed out the door because they would not serve us due to them closing in 20 minutes. That said, we decided to make the drive up into the heights...and it was more than worth it. The food was excellent...everything. from the soup to the main dishes and, we've tried quite a few now...having been back there about 5-6 times now. They offer up a solid lunch menu however, we still order off the dinner menu regardless because. The food is cooked to order and full of big flavor. Albuquerque's Eastside is the best part of the city for Chinese food. The restaurant options are plentiful, and some are truly outstanding. Last night I found a new favorite in the form of Chinshan, formerly located off Coors and now situated across from the Walmart at Wyoming and Menaul. My dining partner and I were seated for dinner around 7:00. Leafing through the menu, we discovered that all our desires could be satisfied with the set dinners offered to groups of two more. $15.99 per person, starting with each participant's choice of egg drop or hot & sour soup; we got one of each. Next, BBQ ribs, egg rolls, and crab cream cheese wontons. Citing a shellfish allergy, I asked the server if we could perhaps substitute another appetizer. She offered chicken wings, which worked out great. After feasting our way through these small dishes, our main plates arrived. We had ordered the Mongolian beef (a huge serving of tender meat, fried onions, mushrooms, garlic, and snow peas) and the sesame chicken (another large serving of perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken cubes, along with bell peppers and onions) which arrived with a big bowl of steamed white rice. The rest is a delicious memory. Every flavor was agreeable and the mouthfeel always pleasant. We ate leisurely, enjoying the experience, before finishing our always promptly refilled glasses of water and boxing up the leftovers. I can't say enough good things about Chinshan. I've been wanting to try them ever since I saw a write up about them in the ABQ Journal in Sept 2020. On Friday night, we ordered through their service selflane and said it would take about 35 minutes for the order, but it was already ready by the time we got there. There was only a few people in and out. They had a large seating area for maybe about 40 people at full capacity, so can't wait to come back and try seating inside. I can't really comment on the customer service, since my dad was the one that went inside to pick up. The food was still hot in the package and made us almost consider eating in the car since it smelled so good. It was enough food for maybe 3-4 additional meals. We got the regular pad thai (~$11), the spicy pad thai, crab cheese wontons (8 for $6), and a sweet and spicy shrimp for me ($13.50). Even for a little more than we usually pay, mine came with 12 tempura battered shrimp (I love tempura!) that were absolutely massive (jumbo shrimp) with rice, vegetables, and pineapple obviously. This was the kind of shrimp you still think about the next day. The crab cheese wontons just melted in your mouth. Can't wait to come back! Think we found our favorite new Chinese place in the 505. The crispy beef here is the way to go! It's a very unique dish, that I've never had or even really seen anywhere else. The amazing part is, it's good as a to-go order, and doesn't get soggy, or change consistency in a box on the way home! Not sure how they manage this, but they package their food perfectly on to-go orders. The Egg-rolls(vegetable), are good, not great. The potstickers are the same, nothing special but good. I like the crab rangoons quite a bit as well. My least favorite thing I've tried is the Egg Drop soup, and that's because they use sweet corn, and it just makes the soup more sweet than I prefer it. We do to-go orders almost every time. The orders always ready on time, and they are quick to get you in and out when you are picking up. On the rare occasion we dine in the wait staff is always on top of everything. They get you drinks quick, take your orders quick, and have food out to you very fast as well. read more

There's nothing like a belly full of Chinese. Vegetarian and vegan options here- we had the mushu pancakes with delicious fried cabbage along with the House Tofu. We asked them to make the House Tofu spicy and they did just that! Egg rolls were unparalleled, great service and lots of food for the price.
