Chinshan has been closed for a year and a half. Why are you publishing garbage information????

Overall: Food: 4 Egg Rolls: Lackluster, I probably wouldn't order it again but nothing wrong with it. Salt & Pepper Calamari was crispy but not greasy. It had the right amount of saltiness. The peppers were not too spicy so someone that can't easy spicy food (me) was able to enjoy it. Beef Fried Rice: The dish was well cooked with non clumpy rice. The only thing that I didn't like is that the beef was not stir fried so it had a char, so it felt almost liked boiled meat. Service: 5 The servers were patient while we decided on our orders and attentive. Ambiance: 5 Restaurant was clean, well lit, and had many tables for small or large parties. Parking is plentiful in this plaza. read more

Chinshan - Salt & Pepper Calamari, Egg Rolls, Beef Fried Rice - Chinese Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

This place is so welcoming and clean inside. The smells of Chinese food hit your nose right when you walk in. Three of us went for dinner and ordered family style, we got fried rice, orange chicken and sweet shrimp and egg drop soup. The customer service was nice and helpful with the menu. The Orange chicken was crispy and juicy. read more

Really amazing food here cannot wait to try more things on the menu. I had the Kung pao mix and my friend had the wonton soup. The wonton soup had shrimp and every vegetable. You can imagine a delightful broth. My Kung pow was extremely tasty not spicy enough, but that's my fault cause I was nervous and ordered medium quick service extremely busy dining area, but seemed like it was flowing well. read more

5 stars for the "House Special Double Shrimp" dish. I also ordered 3 other things (potstickers, tofu seafood clay pot, salt and pepper squid) but they weren't very good, at least by Los Angeles standards. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned, served on a bed of blanched, lightly sauteed broccoli. It's a very tasty and refreshing dish in the hot NM summer. read more

On a whim, my brother and I decided to try out something different than our usual fare when on a trip to Albuquerque. We decided on Chinshan and were not disappointed. The service was quick and polite and the food was excellent. We were quite hungry and ordered a plate of chicken fried rice each as well as crispy chow mein with chicken. Needless To say it's now my favorite spot in Albuquerque for Chinese. read more

Wow, I finally found a really good Chinese restaurant. I love Asian food, but I really prefer Vietnamese and Thai. However, I grew up eating Chinese at least once a week and so I get the hankering every now and then. But, while I have enjoyed most of the shops, I just hadn't been blown away. Chinshan changed that. I have visited twice, both at lunch time. They have great lunch specials. There is a healthy serving of food, including an eggroll, rice and soup. I am happy to report that everything was solid. Eggroll: tasty and crispy! King Pao: flavorful and spicy! Crispy beef: Really great flavor! Egg drop soup: Great! Prices are fair, service was good, and the food was top notch! I can recommend! read more

Alright, this one took me a while to get to. I'd like to still be able to get in the door to eat! Highly highly recommend. All of it. If you are a vegetarian- there's a plethora of options for you! I'm especially impressed with the lack of greasy oil in anything. The vegetables are fresh. Like- crisp fresh. And delicious. Good Lord, don't get me started on the shrimp. I've officially gone three times this week (yep. Addictive)- here's a mashup of those pics. You will definitely enjoy the house wonton soup bowl. Yes it's $10. It's worth every penny. And more. There's literally everything in it, and the broth has an amazing flavor and everything. There's shrimp, beef, chicken, baby bok choi, carrots, mushrooms (two kinds), broccoli, cauliflower, wontons, and snow peas. I don't know if anywhere else that packs in this many variations of food into one dish- while maintaining the freshness and deliciousness. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. P.S. If it helps, I've been to China multiple times. This is a much shorter trip! read more

I've lived near here for some time and never thought to come. Fast forward almost 2 years and we decided to try it. Right after placing my order in store to go, an older woman got right in my face and said "The food is amazing, trust me!" Wow, she was definitely right. The food was SO good! Not very greasy (which was really surprising) and very flavorful. We loved it so much we went back a day later for lunch and that was also amazing. This has become our go to Chinese spot. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

I have visited a few times since COVID relaxation of restaurant restaurants. They are very compliant with COVID safety practices. And the food is great! This restaurant is still my favorite Chinese restaurant in ABQ. I recently visited and had the sesame chicken. My husband and I both loved it. Still best egg drop soup in town! I was craving something Asian (as I usually am) and stumbled across a couple Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants. I really wanted chow mein or some sort of pan fried noodles so I chose this place. I got vegetable chow mein and an order of egg rolls. Oh my - was it delicious. I ordered to-go and my order was ready within 20 minutes. I got there and paid and waited just a couple more minutes. I was able to get a bottled drink to go as well which is always nice when you order takeout (and staying in a hotel) so you don't need to make an extra stop. The place was welcoming, big parking lot, and clean. The stir fry was lightly flavored and fresh. The noodles were perfectly crisp. I was hoping for a thinner egg noodle but this was still very good. Egg rolls were a little greasy but still very tasty. This dinner definitely hit the spot! read more

Chinshan - Vegetable chow mein and order of egg rolls!! - Chinese Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

I wasn't feeling the best so we decided to order take out and eat in the hotel. Asian seemed like a great choice and reviews and proximity brought us to Chinshan. We ordered online and went for pickup. The original time was about 45 min out and unfortunately, that was updated to a shorter time via email, so check your spam because we missed the update. That said, we picked up our food after it sat for 5 min but when we brought it home, we popped out plates in the microwave. We ordered chicken fried rice and egg rolls. The chicken fried rice was excellent. The chicken pieces were huge and very tender. It could have used some more veggies but it was still quite tasty. Egg rolls were crispy and delicious. Very nice stop. We ate it too fast that I didn't get a pic! read more

The search for a new place brought us here. It was fairly busy with a short wait for a table to be cleared. In fairness there are only 14 tables and a large group was occupying 3 of them. Drinks ordered and served, now time for selection. We got the Lemon Chicken & Mongolian Beef lunch plates both with Wonton Soup. Soup arrived 1st, hot with an overly peppered broth, green onions and a couple of wontons. Followed shortly by the entrees. The lemon chicken was hot, fried like sweet & sour chicken, but with a tangy lemon sauce. I'm more preferential to sliced patty style but I liked the not too thick lemon sauce on this. The chicken was also very tender. The Mongolian beef wasn't overly spicy and was tender. It was also loaded with mushrooms, onions & green onions. Definitely tasty. The service left a lot to be desired. Our server never rounded on us after the meals were served. Even the check was placed on the table without comment. We were seated at a 6 person round table that was being used as a central location for plates, silverware etc, so the 2 servers were there frequently. Not once did they make eye contact with us and left as fast as they came in. When I tried to get someone's attention as the stopped I was ignored. The food was great but the service was lacking. Food quality is only part of a review- the lack of average service turned this into an average lunch read more

The food is always delicious and fresh. I normally get takeout, but I did dine in yesterday and the restaurant was clean. The water was refreshing. My six-year old loves the egg fried rice that comes with no vegetables, the Pad Thai is second only to Pad Thai Cafe and beats all the other Thai restaurants. The Chinese food is good. The only thing that is not the best in town are the egg rolls, but 5/5 for the rest of the food. read more

We had gone to the portal to hell (Walmart) and noticed this restaurant in the parking lot near the dollar store. We decided to try it out and my wife and I were so happy we did. The restaurant is a little small yet there seems like plenty of seating inside. Everything was nice and clean and they had full covid restrictions still (June 5th, 2021). The menu is a little overwhelming with almost 100 items to choose from. We usually go to Yummi House for Chinese so we ordered dishes we get from Yummi to compare. Wow. Everything tasted SOOO fresh I couldn't believe it. It tasted like they had a garden out back, picked the vegetables right after we ordered, cut them and cooked them. Both of the dishes we ordered were VERY fresh and very tasty. We will definitely be back! read more

Ok, so...after driving by their original location off of Coors...we quickly realized..Oh, they moved!! LOL...I guess I should have paid more attention to the "update Map" on yelp eh? That said, we decided to make the drive up into the heights...and it was more than worth it. The food was excellent...everything. from the soup to the main dishes and, we've tried quite a few now...having been back there about 5-6 times now. They offer up a solid lunch menu however, we still order off the dinner menu regardless because. The food is cooked to order and full of big flavor. We've already seen a few regulars just in our return visits so that says a lot as well. Despite being a 30 minute drive, it's definitely made our list of top three Chinese Eats for ABQ...I just wish we would have tried them sooner. :) read more

No mistake the food is really good but make sure you're ok with taking some attitude. I placed a To-Go order this evening. I was told it would be 35 minutes. I arrived to the restaurant early and asked to add another item to my to-go order. The owner ? - older lady was upset but modified my order. She said it would be 30 minutes. I thought I'd sit down and have a cup of soup and some tea while I waited. I kindly told the older lady that I wanted to sit down and order some food. She got upset (again) shook her head and told me to "sit at small table." I sat down facing her and she was still shaking her head at me. I got back up and told the waitress that I guess she doesn't want me sitting down to eat (what business owner doesn't want more business?) I don't want to eat anyone's egg drop soup with the owner giving me dirty looks. We've also come in before 20 minutes before their posted closing time and been shooed out the door because they would not serve us due to them closing in 20 minutes. Hours of operation are not always consistent either. Hit and miss. ChinShan is like a moody girlfriend who is a great cook ‍ read more

Albuquerque's Eastside is the best part of the city for Chinese food. The restaurant options are plentiful, and some are truly outstanding. Last night I found a new favorite in the form of Chinshan, formerly located off Coors and now situated across from the Walmart at Wyoming and Menaul. My dining partner and I were seated for dinner around 7:00. Leafing through the menu, we discovered that all our desires could be satisfied with the set dinners offered to groups of two more. $15.99 per person, starting with each participant's choice of egg drop or hot & sour soup; we got one of each. Next, BBQ ribs, egg rolls, and crab cream cheese wontons. Citing a shellfish allergy, I asked the server if we could perhaps substitute another appetizer. She offered chicken wings, which worked out great. After feasting our way through these small dishes, our main plates arrived. We had ordered the Mongolian beef (a huge serving of tender meat, fried onions, mushrooms, garlic, and snow peas) and the sesame chicken (another large serving of perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken cubes, along with bell peppers and onions) which arrived with a big bowl of steamed white rice. The rest is a delicious memory. Every flavor was agreeable and the mouthfeel always pleasant. We ate leisurely, enjoying the experience, before finishing our always promptly refilled glasses of water and boxing up the leftovers. The service was great from start to finish, and I was impressed by their attention to my dietary restriction. Five stars out of five, and I will be back. read more

Times like these, I wish I could give 4 1/2 stars. The food was delicious! We had takeout and were quite happy, but not every dish was a showstopper. We tried a LOT of things: Egg rolls- good. pretty standard Hot and Sour Soup- not a fan of this version Garlic Eggplant- super delicious--even the kids loved it! Mushu Pork- very different. Barely any mushrooms, but outstanding flavor Pork lo mein-I didn't have any but everyone else enjoyed it Chicken Fried Rice- I missed the veggies that usually go into it, but again great flavor BBQ Pork Ribs(appetizer)- STAR OF THE SHOW! Absolutely fabulous and served with an amazing spicy mustard! COVID friendly practices and prompt service. Can't ask for more right now! Will definitely be returning. read more

Bravo! Finally Chinese food hot and spicy! Finally had the opportunity to try your food by take out a few nights ago and it was delicious! Very hot and spicy was the Beef in Garlic Sauce, and the cup of hot & sour soup! I took one star because the soup was a bit thick. Loved the pot stickers!! There was enough for leftovers, and I dug in to them for lunch the next day! Once again BRAVO! read more

I can't say enough good things about Chinshan. I've been wanting to try them ever since I saw a write up about them in the ABQ Journal in Sept 2020. On Friday night, we ordered through their service selflane and said it would take about 35 minutes for the order, but it was already ready by the time we got there. There was only a few people in and out. They had a large seating area for maybe about 40 people at full capacity, so can't wait to come back and try seating inside. I can't really comment on the customer service, since my dad was the one that went inside to pick up. The food was still hot in the package and made us almost consider eating in the car since it smelled so good. It was enough food for maybe 3-4 additional meals. We got the regular pad thai (~$11), the spicy pad thai, crab cheese wontons (8 for $6), and a sweet and spicy shrimp for me ($13.50). Even for a little more than we usually pay, mine came with 12 tempura battered shrimp (I love tempura!) that were absolutely massive (jumbo shrimp) with rice, vegetables, and pineapple obviously. This was the kind of shrimp you still think about the next day. The crab cheese wontons just melted in your mouth. Can't wait to come back! Think we found our favorite new Chinese place in the 505. Glad to help support another small business. 2021 #7 read more

The crispy beef here is the way to go! It's a very unique dish, that I've never had or even really seen anywhere else. The amazing part is, it's good as a to-go order, and doesn't get soggy, or change consistency in a box on the way home! Not sure how they manage this, but they package their food perfectly on to-go orders. The Egg-rolls(vegetable), are good, not great. The potstickers are the same, nothing special but good. I like the crab rangoons quite a bit as well. My least favorite thing I've tried is the Egg Drop soup, and that's because they use sweet corn, and it just makes the soup more sweet than I prefer it. We do to-go orders almost every time. The orders always ready on time, and they are quick to get you in and out when you are picking up. On the rare occasion we dine in the wait staff is always on top of everything. They get you drinks quick, take your orders quick, and have food out to you very fast as well. read more
