I found this place through TikTok. I had a bracelet that was getting old and unraveling. I wanted to see if Helen could remake it for me. She said she could do it and to give her about an hour or so. After about an hour, we came back and my bracelet was exactly like how it was when I first got it. I was so happy with the results. Helen was super nice and fun to talk to too. Overall, I would come back if I needed any other bracelets or necklaces remade or to even get new ones. Her work is so amazing for the price. To have my bracelet remade, it was $15. It's such a good deal for the work. I felt bad that she was only charging that little for the work that she put in so I paid her extra. FYI, it's cash only!

this place is still open! helen is very warm and fun to talk to. i sent a picture of different bracelets to see if she could make any of them and she said yes. i came to pick up the bracelets a couple days after i first called. it's better to come in person if you can; lighting in the shop can be weird and there's a lot of cord colors to select from. there's not just bracelets, but she offers necklaces for jade pendants and a bunch of tassels for weddings, lunar new year, and the home! chinese string arts has been around since 1989 and i sure hope they can weather this crisis.. i'm very happy with my bracelets, thank u helen!

I feel so lucky to live within driving distance of the only place in the US which offers traditional Chinese knotting. When I accidentally destroyed my beloved Jade necklace I Googled a place where I could get it repaired. All the web sites said there was only one place in the US where you could get this done - you can imagine how elated I was when I read it was right here in Southern California! The owner, Helen Tse, is a pleasure to work with. She has the most amazing collection of cords/strings specifically for Chinese knotting. For those of you not familiar with Chinese knotting, it's typically done with red or green satin-y looking cords and they melt the ends with a cigarette lighter. The string is amazingly strong - it will last for years and does not fade that much at all. Chinese knotting can be used to make lucky charms, decorations and jewelry. Helen re-did both the necklace I broke and my bracelet because I wanted it to be adjustable. Her work is beautiful. I can't stop staring at both pieces. She also offers classes if you are interested in knotting. I believe she said it's $60 for 4 one hour classes. I'm definitely going to take some classes from her in the future.

Great custom string work. 2 charms on 1 string done great.

I have been learning at Right Brain Academy of Art since I was six years old. Throughout 11 years,…read moreI noticed that the time and dedication Ms. Rebecca and Mr. Corey put into teaching is unmatched. They show genuine care and form relationships with all their students, making the learning experience personalized. They have a clear understanding of what they expect for the most growth in their students, keeping the class challenging and fun. From training students to set up still lifes with dynamic compositions to teaching color combinations, each and every project was treated with care, designed to push students to grow. Through these projects, I not only learned art techniques, but they also trained me to develop resilience and patience. I have grown as a person, and I use what I learn in their class in my daily life. When I became a senior in high school and started to apply to colleges, their support and guidance brought me to success. Ms. Rebecca and Mr. Corey knew the exact standard of a college portfolio, teaching me how to select and organize pieces. They continued to motivate me, dedicated to the development of my portfolio. In the end, I got into many prestigious art schools including RISD, ArtCenter, CalArts, Pratt, and Parsons. Words cannot express my appreciation for Ms. Rebecca and Mr. Corey. They made me the artist I am today. I feel ready to enter a new stage of my artistic career in college, knowing I will always have their support and invaluable advice. I have no doubt that every student will get the best art education and support at Right Brain Academy of Art.

I show my friends about my daughter's art work and they are all wow and amazed by her works. My daughter told me the teachers here are so patient and help her every little detail of her drawing so that's why she loves them. I just got my son enrolled to the class too and after the first tryout class he already asked me if he could continue to go there with his sister. If you passed by the studio or see the entrance of all their advanced students artworks you will be amazed of how beautiful of those drawing. I highly recommend to others for this art school.
