They show genuine care and form relationships with all their students, making the learning experience personalized. They have a clear understanding of what they expect for the most growth in their students, keeping the class challenging and fun. From training students to set up still lifes with dynamic compositions to teaching color combinations, each and every project was treated with care, designed to push students to grow. Through these projects, I not only learned art techniques, but they also trained me to develop resilience and patience. Ms. Rebecca and Mr. Corey knew the exact standard of a college portfolio, teaching me how to select and organize pieces. They continued to motivate me, dedicated to the development of my portfolio. In the end, I got into many prestigious art schools including RISD, ArtCenter, CalArts, Pratt, and Parsons. Words cannot express my appreciation for Ms. Rebecca and Mr. Corey. What my husband and I liked about this school is that the teacher here will try to promote our child's creativity and we also like their drawing style. Unlike other schools that outlined a picture of the head of a tiger and then told our son to "color here with red, color there with orange...," and then made her rounds, the teacher here asked him what he wanted to draw and then taught him how to actually draw the figure step by step, without drawing it for him. He also learned to balance the drawing, ie the tail of the tiger should not be as big as it's body, the cloud should not be too big, etc. I liked that they also incorporate different medium into a picture. He ended his 1-hour class with 2 drawings. Prices are reasonable, although they don't offer trial class for free. Location is very convenient as it's next to Sushi in the Box and behind Cloverleaf.

I went here as a kid and in hindsight this place is not good…read more First, there is the false advertising. When I was enrolled, it was implied that a good art portfolio is key to a good University application. However, it is hard to get anywhere with art without passion. Second, the environment isn't good. Students are expected to draw in a room without even windows. There is a passionless attitude among students because of how this place takes advantage of Chinese parent's dreams of sending their kids to ivy universities. Also, this place did not do much to help any of their students enroll in local art competitions while I was there. If you happen to think about enrolling your kid since they are in fact passionate about art, there is a lot better places that would better support their passion in a fun and lively manner. This place is more of a daycare with art supplies.
