This place looks like a great place to eat because a line up along the street is always a good sign that the food is good! My first impression was not good as I had to order from the menu while standing on the street waiting for a table. How awkward is that? No time to really look at the menu in a decent light and discuss what you'd like to eat with other dining partners.
When we were finally seated, I watched in dismay as meals were sent to wrong tables and we were asked three times if we would like to order. We had already ordered on the street! Our meals arrived eventually in the chaos. I suppose it was a Saturday night!
The Pork and Chive dumplings wee very tasty and come in full serves of 12 or a half serve of 6. It is possible to order them steamed or pan fried to perfection. A good start to our so far disappointing start.
I also ordered the Peanut chicken with additional steamed white rice. Another excellent choice. Very tasty and similar to the Chinese Kung Pao Chicken, less the chilly peppers.
The evening could have been a good dining experience except for the cramped and very loud noise levels. Tables of excited, yelling diners who don't know it's not polite to scream at each other spoilt the evening.
The concrete acoustics of the small room make it also impossible to eat enjoyably in such a noisy environment.
Unfortunately, we won't be back, no matter how good the food as there are better, less noisy places to eat in Sydney. read more
