I've been here twice and I've had the roast duck laksa, the sweet and sour pork, the special fried rice, and the eggplant. Surprisingly for a place called Noodle Star, the Laksa is just OK. Everything else though, is pretty tasty and can be purchased for $12 or less. The fried rice is on the expensive side though. Definitely a local type place with cheap and tasty Chinese food, worth a visit if that's the food you want and don't/can't venture out to Chinatown. Everything is self serve.

Walking into the place, it was huge so that rumour is probably true! They have people walking around in trolleys which is great as you can just pick what you want. The prices are more expensive than the Haymarket yum cha but I think it's worth it. The dumplings are larger than other yum cha places and they only have 3 dumplings in a steamed bamboo holder. The reason for the 3 stars is because the service isn't great. Given the amount of people you would think the service would be better but it's sort of put me off. They got a deli counter too and offer great wraps and rolls of your choice or the standard pork or chicken rolls which are really good for only $4. When I come here I tend to opt for the pork roll with extra chilli and an egg. Yum yum. Rice paper rolls are another good option here that I like. Available in chicken, prawn or Tofu with plum sauce. They sell juices too but haven't tried those out yet. Next time in Bondi Junction and want to save your money for the Westfield then this place is your new best friend.

Ordering was very easy. I just scan a QR code and can place my order online. For food, we made to sure to get soup dumplings (xiao long bao). We also got shrimp and pork dumplings and one with Sichuan Mala flavor. For the sides we got some garlic stir fried veggies. I thought all the dumplings were okay in taste, flavor, and texture. I really was not a fan of the Sichuan Mala one. It was gamey in taste. It actually made me think I was eating lamb instead of pork. Veggies were standard. This is a place I can say I've tried but don't plan to try another one.

We dined in the upstairs portion of the restaurant ( which is tucked in a multi use building ). Service was friendly and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious. Fresh seafood. Fresh veggies. Portions were decent sized. They do have some pricing quirks to be aware of: There is a minimum spend per person and I believe it varies with party size. They charge a 10% surcharge on Sundays. Not sure if this standard in other restaurants but I doubt it. I'm mentioning it so diners on Sunday are aware. I liked the food enough that I just chalked it up to a vacation u expected expense. Big big portions too! Set us back $109 AUD. The restaurant was also very spacious, and located in a business building. The servers were very polite.
